So the "truth" is male "logic" is different than female "logic" because of a trope about not being able to decide what to eat, therefore men and women just fundamentally can't understand each other but that's also why we need each other(??), which is why "separating the sexes" is bad, so feminism is also bad because it makes women believe they're the same as men.

Feminism is (mainly) about equality under the law.

I’ve never heard a feminist claim that men and women are biologically or psychologically identical. There may be a few who believe that, but they’re definitely a small minority

Have you ever tried to get a group of folks to agree about where to go for food?

Many of the social circles I spend time in have more men than women.* In my experience, an awful lot of people, when asked where to eat will claim they don't know, or they'll descend into dithering. And then when you suggest something, they'll come up with reasons not to go there. I hate the dithering, so usually I'll suggest something when I ask the original question, just to speed up the process.

There's a bunch of reasons for this. If they weren't thinking about food, they haven't had a chance to think about what they're in the mood for. Also, a lot of people (and particularly women) have been taught that it's polite to defer to other people's wishes. These aren't exclusive of each other. Coming up with something takes a moment, and energy. Realizing that you aren't in the mood for Greek food takes a lot less.

You seem to be coming up with some generalizations about men and women. Yours seem pretty whacky to me, and do make me wonder how much exposure you've had to people generally - but it really doesn't matter. Because even if they were fairly representative, they aren't going to reflect everyone.

In the US, for instance, men generally do better than women at math.** And yet, I routinely tested in the 99.9% -possibly a nine or two more) for math aptitude, and have done very well in highly quantitative professions. Does that make me a freak? Maybe. Does that mean I should be pressured into doing "women things" because I should be a more typical woman? That seems pretty foolish to me. What would that serve? Making it easier for some random guy to categorize women is hardly a priority for me. Nor is staying out of highly paid professions so that men who aren't as good at them as I am can have those jobs.

I want everyone to have equal opportunity to develop their own skills and passions. It's likely there will be some gender skew, though I think people attribute to biology what is often more an artifact of culture. I'm not going to be meek and passive because some random guy thinks I should be. The world is complicated, and people are complicated, and maybe it would be easier for you if we all agreed to play certain roles determined by our plumbing, but making life easier for you isn't my job.

*Natch. I'm a CS prof, roboticist, martial artist and sometime TTRPG player.
**Interesting note - whether there is a gap, and which direction it goes in is cultural, and there are places where math as seen as a women's thing and women routinely score better. But I was raised in the US.

Feminism is about equal opportunity and treatment legally, educationally, professionally, societally.

That doesn’t mean that men and women are or should be identical. It means that biological differences do not and should not create legal, educational, professional and societal disparities.

That’s it. It’s not about ordering food or discussing sex or choosing curtains or some evo-psych “truth”.

You are conflating equality with identicality. It is tough to do different but equal, but possible. When one opposes gender equality it sounds like you want more than just complementarity and difference. It sounds like you want a more hierarchical relationship between the genders.

- Most Feminists don't deny actual differences substantiated by credible science. That's not your anecdotal observations though, not to say that you couldn't be noticing something substantiated by credible evidence.

- Men and women aren't monolithic categories. Some men have strengths that you don't have and vice versa. It's more accurate to say that people in general bring different qualities beyond lines of sex or gender and that we all contribute to society. People are independent as defined by colloquial terminology, but of course we all rely on one another in general. The better question is why are you bothered by women calling themselves independent specifically. Are you bothered by men who also view themselves as independent in some way? The idea of a bachelor who doesn't want to or need to settle down is as old as time. People seem to have been specifically bothered as women gained rights and ability to also be "independent," meaning not reliant on romantic relationships or marriage for survival or happiness.

- Equal rights doesn't mean you're the exact same person as the next person. It means you have equal rights and that we are concerned about unequal systemic outcomes. It is not a waste of time for us to be concerned with equal rights and outcomes. It's sad if you feel that way.

- You just said yourself that the sexes aren't equal and aren't the same, but you think feminism is the thing that is separating the "sexes". How does that logic work? It sounds like you're the one arguing for distinct separation, no?

- You started talking about feminism and now you're saying women need to be honest about their sexuality. What the actual fuck is this post about?

- Politics, feminism = all the things that structure how people live their lives and their access to survival and well being. If that's just BS to you, I think your truth is that you don't actually care about people. Be real and honest - just say that and stop pretending to be something else. I can't stand a simple-minded ignoramus pretending to be something deeper. Please just be real.

Equality in the fact we are all entitled to the same freedoms, opportunities and rights as each other.

That’s literally all feminism is.

Women do the truth about what they like, but everyone is different and you can’t predict natural chemistry. On paper (or dating apps) the human element is removed from finding a partner, so people are just relaying on facts about the person and hope their compatible.

That’s why it’s important for your dating life to be more in your own social circles where attraction can grow in a neutral environment

Society has always created the separation of the sexes, that's exactly what feminism is trying to break down.

It would be a waste of time for me to try to be equal to a woman, why would i want to be something im not?

Because the overwhelming majority of people who use this argument of "let women be good at the things women are good at" mean raising children and cleaning the house and doing the traditional female jobs while we let men handle the important, high paying jobs.

Women need to tell the truth about what they like sexually no filters

I've found women to be quite candid about what they like sexually once they're comfortable with you. Women not sharing their kinks and turn ons the second they meet you is somehow reframed as women being reticent or unaware of what they like.

This message wont be received well, when we are told the truth, human nature rejects it, and those who tell the truth are hated.

You aren't the first person to make this argument, you won't be the last. It's a very old, very tired argument.

I agree with the idea that people need a balance of masculinity and femininity in their lives. Everyone has some quantity of both. Where I disagree is that I don't think those qualities map directly to biological sex. Feminism is largely a protest against women being pigeonholed into embodying the feminine only.

While we're not equal by nature, technology has progressed to the point where much of our shortcomings can be made up for without needing another person. That's created a dynamic wherein the party with the most amount of needs requiring another person will feel the most lack.

Let's also be clear that one party in this scenario is claiming to have a need for the other party to fully submit to them for the remainder of their lives, which is as close to "everything" as one can get. Why would anyone not be willing to pay a cheaper price for the same product?

The wanting party is going to have to either lower their prices or get their needs met on their own.

You're missing a major part of the issue. Consider this, I will list 10 very influencial feminist women, and show you what I mean:

Category A:

- Monique Wittig

- Adrienna Rich

- The Kuer Kiwi

- Charlize Theron

- Hanna Gadsby

- Sarah Yarkin

- Julie Bindel

- Monica Bianco

- Amber Heard

- Miley Cyrus

Category B:

Now, think about high quality neighborhoods filled with wealthy families and great schools. You'll tend to find that most of them are two parent households, with a masculine man and feminine woman married to each other. Most of the men work big careers while most of the women take care of the home and kids child needs. Father comes home and leads the family. Wife is in second in command. Both maintain love and respect in the household. And they're usually religious.

There's a massive difference between the women in Category B, versus Category A.

The women in Category B are who you mean when you say this, "Arent we supposed to complete eachother, a woman has something a man doesnt have, a man has something a woman doesnt have. "

But these women you speak of here, "Modern society is creating a seperation of sexes,", the women doing that are from Category A.

The key difference is, Category B women value men, while Category A women value other women, and they make up most of the feminists. So yes, women and men do complete each other if we're talking about Category B women. But Category A women and hetero men do not compliment each other, at all. And sexuality is a key part of the issue.

Research any of those women and you'll see what I mean.
