I would distinguish feminism from Feminism. The feminists are your average women who want to be treated equally. Very few people have problems with them. The Feminists are those who actively participate in the Feminist movement from different positions. No one likes them. Even Feminists don't like Feminists. I have known several and all of them hated and/or feared each other.

The Feminist movement is largely directed by Marxists whose ideology dates back to Marx and Engel's writings where the family is remarked as the foundation upon which capitalism stands. Families are vehicles of wealth and privilege from one generation to the next. You cannot have Marxism without first taking apart the family. This is where the feminist suffrage and equality movement turns into the Feminist movement. It seeks to cover itself in the flag of liberal ideals but primarily pushes agendas designed to tear apart marriage.

Note: None of the State Capitalist or Socialist countries to-date has fully implemented this ideal of creating a community of women that I know of. I do know that some communes have done it, but am not fully familiar with it.

My experience with feminism has been mostly negative. After being foolish enough to interact and be honest and vulnerable around feminists, particularly those on the internet, my loneliness descended deeper into anger, bitterness, and misogyny. I escaped those things by finding acceptance from women who were very much NOT feminists.

I remember a session with a female social worker where I 'confessed' about what a horrible male creep I was, or so I expected to be told, and she said, "I don't understand, you're saying you're attracted to women? Why do you think that's a problem?" Oh...you mean...it's okay? I'm not going to be chastised for it? That was the reaction I had become used to, as an 'oppressive member of the male patriarchy'.

I firmly believe the 'toxic masculinity' feminists complain about is, in good portion, blowback from their own agenda. Tell miserable men their problems aren't real problems, they're horrible creeps, and that their nature is some kind of pathology, and you're going to create some anti-social sentiment. What men and women really need is to maximize personal connection, and that comes through acceptance and compassion, and for me at least, that came from avoiding feminist types like the plague, and only associating with women who had an emotionally healthy and positive effect on me.

So basically, what feminists want is at least partially possible, but prevented from happening because of their own ignorant-ass approach to things. So yeah, not a fan.

Then I grew up and realized that, what people want and what people say they want is not the same, and all the ladies, at the end of the day want muscle, money and manpower.

It's stated preferences are good, but is in practice a massive social cudgel to shame men from the soapboxes of the most powerful media institutions in America. The current incarnation of feminism makes it quite clear that women don't need nor want men, and actively disrespecting men in society is seen as just desserts and totally warranted.

Men should form social movements to bond and share and help each other out... but we literally won't ever do that. Hopefully suicide rates don't climb much more, but they probably will.

I have to congratulate local feminists for their activism. They arrange tons of low-barrier-of-entry creative grassroots events, be it drawing, dancing, music, cooking, gardening and all kind of social events. And everything is nice, almost free, with organizers are surprisingly competent. Of course there are the mandatory voiced code-of-conducts in the beginning, but as long as you're not asshole, it is just fine. Seems like they want to do things for their community, the anarcho-rooted non-commercial vibe is cosy and reminds me of old ug-techno scene way back with illegal raves. Kind of shame that other political movements don't seem to have grassroots activities of same level. There are tons of free/low level tech-events tangled with entrepreneurship and recruiting, but where are the conservative comic-zine clubs and art shows? Or centrist burlesque workshop? Nah, then it becomes business, for people who can pay for their hobbies and organised in the normal manner with hired staff and rented locations. While fine it just doesn't feel the same. So props up for the local anarcho-feminists, your community is bustling.

Unlike some redpillers, I’m in no way opposed to female sufferage, employment, abortion, or in general people just doing whatever they want in terms of personal freedom.

My problem is people thinking they are entitled to certain outcomes or equal numbers of men and women in high status high paying low injury climate controlled jobs while making zero mention of equal numbers in anything else. My problem is incessant whining about dumb shit like video games and manspreading while men are incarcerated at absurdly unequal rates, all the while complaining about blacks having less (but still severe) disproportionate incarceration. Like it’s a problem when blacks have 80% worse incarceration but not when men have 1200% more incarceration or whatever?

Finally, I have a massive personal grudge against the movement that got me arrested for calling the cops on my violent ex gf and almost threw my whole career away for it. I’ll never forgive feminists for supporting this shit and never join forces with such filth.

If you don't watch TV or pay attention to the media in general, you will never encounter something like feminism. Or for that matter the movement against feminism. Perhaps such issues may influence the corporate world to a certain extent. I don't know because I stay out of that domain. But if you don't have a job and don't watch TV, you won't encounter feminism.

That's not to say that I don't have an opinion on feminism, or Brexit, or the left-right endless futile hate-battle, or any of the other media buzz issues that are brought up to fill our empty lives and make us argue with one another. I just refuse to let my life be impacted by them. If there was some chance of any form of grassroots political solidarity then I might be interested, but I see no light at the end of that particular tunnel.

Once I've got my little house, I'm going to take my dogs walking in the countryside, read books, write books, eat, drink, watch sport, play sport as long as my body holds up, meditate, spend time with my friends, and there's an outside chance that I might have sex occasionally (also, see play sport).

Everyone would be happier if they lived their lives that way, and didn't get sucked into the media bullshit.

There’s no way I could put all the problems I have with feminism into one comment, so I’ll just say what tends to irk me most about all the feminists who come to me and tell me I’ve got the wrong idea of feminism: their utterly blind devotion to a No True Scotsmen defense of feminism.

Feminism is a secular religion these days, in that it’s adherents have a vested interest in keeping the movement’s image “pure,” and they accomplish this in their own minds by denying the feminist label to any self-proclaimed feminist who disagrees with their view of feminism or expresses any views they find objectionable under that label.

So, Julie Bindel, Jessica Valenti, Clementine Ford—not feminists, according to plenty of Reddit feminists. Jess Phillips laughing at the notion of men’s issues being discussed for a single day in parliament? Not a feminist moment for her. The National Organization for Women opposing shared parenting laws? Not a feminist stance.

Apparently, many of feminism’s most visible pundits and influencers of law and policy are not actually feminist, according to most feminists.

I’m sorry, this is the most obvious bullshittery I’ve seen since I last paid any attention to the Christian Right. Feminists dismiss their bad actors and maintain that feminism is ideologically pure and good, and is just about “equality,” so why am I not “woke” and on board yet?

Because I’m not that stupid and closed-minded. For the same reason I don’t regard feminism as a through-and-through hate movement, but still consider many of its positions and rhetorical points hateful. For the same reason I don’t regard the MRM as a pure movement, and acknowledge it’s got its fair share of extremists, who will likely seize power and warp the movement into something I’d hate the instant they got the chance, which would inevitably come as soon as most of our most serious demands were met (what has essentially happened to feminism IMO).

Feminists like to think they see things in more shades of grey than the rest of society, but in my experience, they’re no more open-minded than any other group, and at this point have a fairly sexist dogma that they’re so indoctrinated with they don’t realize it’s sexist. And they’ll go to great lengths in terms of mental acrobatics to maintain that view.

Feminism rants about "benevolent sexism" and how women get privileges because of Patriarchy, but then feminism never talks about holding women responsible for anythign they've done. They use the "benevolent" sexism lie to defend abuse and statutory (and other forms of) rape by women, not to mention hypergamy. If a woman kills her kids, somehow it's some dude's fault.

We're pretty deep into the 'racket' with what we contemporarily recognize as feminism. Unfortunately, most alternatives for organization in the pursuit of greater equality are also highly commercialized/veiled con-artistry at best. I hope we can figure out some way to learn to be kinder to each other without elevating the shittiest and most amoral among us, but historically that's hard to do.

I wouldn't call myself a feminist, but I am an obnoxious woman with opinions about my own personhood, so most people would probably call me that. I consider myself a humanist, but in the edgiest way possible.

Feminism was initially innocent at first.

“We want equal rights. We want to be treated like members of the same species, even if we don’t act like we are.”

Women were given equal rights. I think after that, some women saw the effect that speaking out and demanding things had on the government and population en masse, so some decided to take it further.

“We want legal protections from men because we can’t protect ourselves against them.”

Women were granted bias in the court system.

Feminists said “Wow! This is awesome! What more can we get?”

Now, here we are, in the year 2018. Women have so much privilege. Arguably, more privilege than men. If feminists had it their way, the current state of social affairs would be much like the reverse of the pre-women’s rights era, or like current day Saudi Arabia. Men would be the property of their wives, unable to so much as speak without permission, and would be reprimanded for doing so.

Feminism’s current idea of “equality” is “an eye for an eye.”

“Let’s see how you like being treated like women were for the last umpteen hundred years.”

Feminists believe they are completely justified in their actions, and for holding this view. The ends justify the means.

The irony in feminism is that it has become the creature that it sought to take down in the first place, and that is why it is a failure to the thing feminists claim to be fighting for, which is “equality.” Feminism is little more than vigilante justice for its own cause, at this point.

I think Feminism is still here because it hasn't achieved it's main goal yet. To clarify, it isn't equality, no no no they achieved that decades ago. I'm talking about an end to capitalist, mostly white western culture. Feminism is a particularly nasty branch of Marxism now.

Intersectional feminism (I refuse to call it "Liberal feminism", these people may be on the left, but they are the furthest thing from liberal) is the absolute worst. They like to separate every group of people by race, and then again by gender/gender expression. Then assign each group a place in the hierarchy of victimhood. If you're at the bottom (i.e. a straight, cis, white male) then your voice and opinion is literally less important than that of anyone elses. They even think being colourblind is racist, that it is "denying minorities their lived experiences" so forget judging people by the content of their character. No, what matters is skin colour and the bit of kit between your legs. MLK is turning in his grave.

On top of all this, feminists just seem to be really bad people in general. I really do believe this. Every villain is the hero of their own story though, and they most certainly are villains.

Feminism has done wonders for women and men have had some improvements by consequence if not by design. I as a man am very happy to not be expected to be the sole income earner, or to have to marry a girl before fucking. I do also like that I have more freedom in my sexuality than I would have had at most other points in history.

That being said any benefits for men are a side effect, not a goal on it's own. And I get it, feminism is a women's movement. I would much rather see a movement to help men out there. And by help men I mean actually help men, not just blame feminism for everything.

Okay, but to be serious: I think gender roles are mostly bullshit. I think a lot of harm comes from enforcing gender roles, and most people would be better off just embracing their natural interests rather than trying to conform to some physical or behavioral standard dictated by their sex.

Liberal feminism is going off the rails somewhat since it's been coopted by trans activists. I see gender nonconforming women declaring themselves "transmen" or nonbinary more and more, and I think this is a harmful side effect of gender roles. It's just a new way to enforce "woman = feminine gender roles," but from the left this time.

Feminism already won in the west for the most part, unless you're complaining about certain issues like abortion (and only in specific cases, like America). I'm a-okay supporting that specific fight. Otherwise, women have equal rights and equal opportunity, so that means I consider the continued push to be anti-male in nature, trying to defeat men and put women in a new position of dominance, and as I am a male, I have no incentive to support something that is specifically trying to do me in. At some point if the push is too hard, I will support someone unsavory if they promise to push back.

Feminism is necessary in places where religion is still strong (Muslims, South America) and in third-world godless shitholes (Africa) and I fully support women being granted equal rights and opportunities that men get in places like this.

In a general sense, I think women see themselves as automatically lesser and men as automatically better, meaning equality is only about women gaining. As soon as women stand to lose some kind of long-standing privilege, such as men being a provider or automatically protecting them, they get upset about it, not recognizing that equality means they lose some things in the process. I don't trust feminists as a general rule because of this.

I'm in my early 30s and noticing lately a lot of the feminists around me getting more and more into 2nd wave ideas. The same girls who were firmly into the 4th wave garbage a few years ago are all reading stuff from the 60s and 70s now and talking about how it applies to today. I think women are starting to get tired of being men and getting back into this idea of what makes a woman a woman and how to protect that. Even this whole resurgence of "witchy" culture among girls is along the same lines imo. They're just finding a feminine archetype and celebrating something that is separate to men and the man's world.

I don't know if it's widespread or just in my circles, but I think it's pretty cool.
