Let's face it - Short guys are screwed when it comes to dating. I've witnessed women being so inconsiderate towards short men as far as calling them waste of human space. Some women may tolerate a relatively short guy (5'7-5'8), provided he makes up for his "defect" with confidence, money, or something else of value. Although short guys who try to make up for this with confidence also run the risk of being labeled someone with Short Man Syndrome.

Many women claim wanting a tall male partner is just a preference which is a gross understatement. Every single woman's dream man is more or less 6'2" depending on how tall she is. The envisioned ideal man gets exponentially less attractive as his height decreases linearly. In fact, were this guy 5'5", it's likely she'd a prefer a 6'2" guy who is less-than-handsome facially, which really sucks for short guys with good facial aesthetics. The curse is forever. Online dating is almost a joke for short guys since height is the top most category for women when shortlisting men.

The preference for tall men is also about ego. Women want a tall guy so they can look good next to him in Facebook pictures, so they can look good paraded next to him down the church aisle, and so they can have some tall sons to show off. Since height is associated with status in our culture, having a tall boyfriend or husband is a status symbol.

I shall answer some common replies to this topic.

1. You think women shouldn't have preferences.

No, women have every right to prefer what they want. I'm neither bitter nor glad that women prefer a tall guy.

2. Men have preferences too, like wanting big boobs

It's true that most men prefer moderately big boobs to small ones, but I don't think that's a deal breaker as long as her face is pretty and she meets his other requirements (personality, how feminine she is etc)

3. There are women who have short boyfriends

Agreed, but the number is very very low. Also while these women maybe relatively happy with their short boyfriends, they are not excited about that either when introducing him to her parents or girlfriends. In fact, I've seen couple of girls who are kinda embarrassed to show off their boyfriends.

4. Short Celebs like Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. swim in pussy

Two words - Fame and Money. Those two more than make up for anything in this world.

5. You're just insecure about your height

I'm exactly the average height of men in my country, and don't really bother about it. I've never faced a problem with women regarding height, but it kinda sucks to know that I can never be the ideal man (6'2") of a woman because of something I don't have any control over.
