I’m pretty open with former girlfriends and female friends about sexual stuff, and I’ve gotta say, the number of women I’ve met with actual sex toys is quite small. I think more women watch porn than people stereotypically believe but it seems like vibrator/dildo usage is pretty negligible. I’ve also never personally heard of women who masturbate more than, like, twice a day, so I’m not totally sure porn addiction is that rampant either.

I’d be willing to bet there are more female sex addicts, though.

I don’t know if I’d say I was addicted to porn but... I couldn’t get myself off without it and I was getting myself off like 2-3 times a day. So that’s pretty bad. It took me a lil while to ‘re-wire’ my brain to not need porn anymore and now I’m fine. Men in porn are ugly and you barely even see them so it doesn’t really impact that. You do get an idea that all dicks are super straight, thick and long though but it doesn’t take too much dating to realise that’s not realistic.

I do love my vibrator although I use it like once a week because using it too frequently does make it a bit numb down there. It goes back to normal in a few days though and it doesn’t impact my arousal levels and I can usually cum even if it’s ‘numb’ but it’ll take a lot more time and effort and it’s annoying.

When I married, one of my dealbreakers was porn use. I also don't use vibrators or dildos out of respect for my husband.

I think porn use which borderlines on addiction is a problem for some.

I’ve personally never used vibrators or dildos. I don’t know if I’d say porn addiction is rampant among women but porn definitely cause unrealistic expectations. At least for virgin women anyway. I know me and all my friends thought super big penises were where it’s at. Then one by one we became sexually active and our opinions on size changed.

I'm assuming that video porn addiction is low with women because that's not the typical use of porn with women. However... those that use literotica usually don't have many boundaries with it. I know people that would straight up read porn on their phone in front of you because you wouldn't know anyway...

I don't think it effects their standards of men because literotica is VERY removed from reality (cough MPREG cough).

About the vibrator...even if they numb their clit with one... Why would that have an effect on arousal/sex?

As a male, you never had the ability to compete with the vibrator. It's comparing apples and oranges. You can never do what the vibrator does and the vibrator can not do what you do. And you can't numb with a dildo.

It does happen to a degree during long dry spells. I kinda get used to sensations different from actual sex. It wouldn’t be surprising some people feel that way, specially if they spend years with no sex.

It’s much easier to masturbate and watch porn than actually do the legwork of finding someone, even for attractive people.

This is my big mic-drop. I don’t believe there’s a such thing as “porn addiction”. Desensitization? As if watching the porn is going to be the same is actually seeing someone right in front of you.. Feeling them... Their scent... The sounds... Total crock of shit. “Porn addiction” sounds like Mormon propaganda to me. The first time I heard the term “ porn addiction” was when I was working for a company that was largely Mormon. I know the Mormon church has spearheaded a huge anti-porn campaign in partnership with the Catholic Church. None of it seems based on actual science. “Sex addiction” is a real thing (not to be confused with having a high libido). Men or women that participate in frequent and risky sexual behavior that are grounds for getting an STD or arrested have a serious issue. Porn doesn’t put you at risk for any of that. Wanting to have sex with your partner a lot doesn’t either.
