As a bisexual woman recently divorced from a man, I'm seriously considering limiting my dating pool to women when I date again. All the societal bullshit that I went through in a previous LTR with a woman didn't hold a candle to the misogyny that worked its way into my marriage with a man. His entitlement was subtle, but absolutely present and deeply ingrained. I used to think he was so sensitive and enlightened. I don't know if it's possible for a male, socialized male, to really 'get it.'

I doubt any really get it either. If I could find one that did, I would love that. I enjoy male energy until it turns toxic, which it inevitably does. I’ve only recently started seeing women in a diffferent light, finding myself thinking what it would be like to actually fall in love with one. I attribute these feelings to both having been hurt by many men, and also to letting go of all the ways I’ve held myself back and down to try to please them. By not caring anymore what they think or if they want me or not, it’s been so freeing spiritually and emotionally. I realize it’s just love and connection I want, not masculinity. I had daddy issues, I’ve made a lot of progress in overcoming them, and in the process I’m seeing women in a whole new way. I can’t say I am bi. I can only say that I think it’s possible to fall in love with a woman. I used to love manly men and guys who could fix things and protect me and do all the stuff I grew up thinking “real” men do. Now I prefer the energy of women, I never thought I’d feel this way but here I am.

It's not fair and I have had the same thoughts before. However, when I look at it critically, I don't see it as "being mean" as much as transactional. Men shouldn't have privileges given to my family and girl friends until one of them earns it after a sizable amount of time. Post-FDS conversion, I continue to treat men with politeness and respect. However, I cut out anyone who makes my life worse. If I cannot block someone (e.g. someone I am forced to see at work) and feel safe enough to do it, I use direct, firm language and do not apologize for saying no and "that is unacceptable." Men on reddit will tell you that is abuse though. 😂
I have high moral standards for myself and realize I can get dumped immediately if I don't act right. If I lied, was abusive, disrespectful, just didn't have that "spark" for him (subjective), etc. I would completely understand if someone dumped me. A lot of men choose not to act with basic human decency and seem almost surprised when they are dropped or replaced. LVM make our lives worse than if we were single. LVM readily claim we are abusive if we say "that hurt my feelings" or "this is unacceptable, I'm done."
On the other hand, HVM apparently get satisfaction from "providing" and treating you with gestures of appreciation. When women reciprocate exactly that way, men tend to lose interest, take advantage, see you as a mommy bangmaid, etc. If you start viewing your time, presence, and attention as the reward men get from you, you can get accustomed to being treated like a queen. It sounds really off-balance in my former PickMe mind, but I have accepted socialization of men and women has been so radically different and backwards (thanks, Libfems!).
I'm not dating at the moment but intend on being this way whether an HVM exists for me or not. It's very freeing not having to be a p*rnstar acrobat Martha Stewart scholar fashionista soup kitchen supermodel for ungrateful men.

THIS. I am so tired of playing games with men. They only act right if you treat them mean and act like you don't care, as soon as you start genuinely putting effort into the relationship and opening up emotionally, they start walking all over you and taking you for granted until you get fed up and stop caring and start being mean again and the cycle repeats 🙄 For once I would like to just be genuinely nice and loving and supportive to a man and have him actually appreciate that and return that same energy and effort to me.

It might be that since they're lesbian, they don't display ANY PickMe behaviors at all. I would guess men pick up on that subconsciously and know that women like that wont take any of their dumb shit, and wont be manipulated by them the way your average PickMe would, so they don't even try.

It’s amazing just how much pick me vibes we give off subconsciously and men feed off subconsciously. Sometimes women with lots of men chasing assume it’s because they’re amazing and different - sometimes unfortunately it’s the opposite, it’s because men see the desperation and go after it because not only will the be easy to get sex from, they will get money, and get away with everything that men can basically.
Some of the most gorgeous, classy and actually confident women I know, don’t actually get propositioned or chased much. Men might look at them with admiration but won’t actually chase them because they know they are too good and too confident.

This is true, but the abusive men I’ve had the misfortune of being with have largely been financially independent. The one common denominator seems to be issues with their mothers though. My ex husband is far more respectful towards his mother than he ever was to me, but he verbalized to me many times that he resented her. He just didn’t show that to her because of his culture and upbringing. He had no problem at all letting me know how he really felt about me though. Still does this to this day. Men can be so vindictive and never let things go, and he cheated on me, go figure.

Especially straight women, where the power balance is tipped way off, men can kill us with bare hands and hate us just for being different sex than them, are feeling entitled and demanding us to do EVERYTHING. One of my friends just had to get a restraining order against her husband. About 2-3 years into their marriage he started to rough her up. As it ALWAYS does, it only got worse as time went on. For her (a pick me) to get a restraining order, it had to be bad. They have a 3 yr old together, and she has an older boy from another man who her husband hates because of that fact.
He terrorizes the older kid. He’s only 11. He thinks this kid is molesting his 3 yr old daughter. Totally insane and not true. He just hates the kid so much and is full on abusing and fucking this poor boy up. He beats my friend, terrorizes her son, was unemployed for 3 years while she worked full time, is likely cheating on her, and she tells me “he’s not a bad person, he just needs help”. SHE needs help! He is beyond help. I’m proud of her for getting the order, but this jackass should be behind bars.
I wonder really how many men out there get away with this shit because women are too scared to do anything about it. And he was not like this for the first year or two. It’s a huge crapshoot with men. The happiest women I know are either gay, single, or with super sweet “beta” types. I haven’t tried to date or sleep with a man in many, many years. My friends’ lives with their husbands and the single ones with their dating woes assures me I’m not missing out on anything.

I decided when I was very young that I was going to be the one in charge when dealing with men. I've been doing martial arts for years and encourage all women to do that. It's very empowering to know that if a man tries anything assaultive, you can leave him with crushed balls and a couple of broken arms. And, of course, FDS is loaded with tips on how not to get manipulated into letting your boundaries be violated. We can do things to tip the power balance back in our favor in relationships, even though men still have more power in society than we do.
