Lol I love this little drawing. My ex husband skipped off to do god knows what, and I filled for divorce on his ass and walked away. I went 100% no contact, no social media, nothing. Four months later when we had to meet for the court appointment, he was crying like a little baby! In front of everyone. The real tea is that he only feels sorry for himself. He doesn't feel sorry for how he treated you or for what he did that caused you harm. He feels sorry for himself that consequences have arrived.

yep, they move on but expect you to still wait around until they are done with their new victim.

This is so true. I’ve been unfortunate enough to be in two dates in the past where guys have cried about their ex in front of me.

Nothing makes me less attracted to someone than listening to them whine about their ex and then having to bat off their advances. Like, is that supposed to be attractive? Is it supposed to make me pity you enough to try to take her place? Automatic dealbreaker.

I don’t get it either- either they’re doing it to make you ‘jealous’ or they’re not over it...either way it’s not flattering at all & men fresh out of a breakup are a straight no. They’re usually in revenge mode when they’ve been dumped
[–]ZurfluFDS Newbie182 points183 points184 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
He's probably crying because he has a months worth of dirty dishes and laundry sitting around lol

Men cry a lot. But when you catch a cold, they ignore you. If you need something, they ignore you. If a relative dies and it makes you sad, they (LVM) act like your emotions are so inconvenient. One guy got drunk, came over to my place and started crying about a dead relative he had never mentioned before during our year long relationship. I kept saying "Who?" He didn't explain.
One time, he called and said what's up. I said, my dad's in the hospital with a blood clot. He ignored the statement and started talking about some bullshit work problem. I said, "Excuse me?! I just told you one of my parents is in the hospital."
He said something like. "Oh yeah. Yeah. I get it." Then he started talking about himself again.
Why bother with the lvm?
[–]jetpatchAt-Risk Pick Me Youth78 points79 points80 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That guy crying over a dead relative a year later, that's because it reminds him of his own mortality. He's crying about himself not the person who died.

This has been my experience. I'm done feeling like I am low value because of it. I treat my partners really well and it is my pleasure to do it. I am on the look out for someone who doesn't act like reciprocation is asking him for an organ.
[–]GingyTheCattFDS Newbie12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That sounds more like narcissist or sociopathic personality. Not sure I’ve had anyone ignore me when I’ve told them someone I know is hurt. That’s messed up.
But the other portion about emotional inconvenience rings true.

Breakup timelines are real. Many men process at 30+ days and women are already moving past it by then. many of us are already grieving/tried and tried so we are done by the times its over and they get hit after.
[–]modernmedusaaRuthless Strategist32 points33 points34 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Honestly I agree women are usually over it before it’s over 🤣 by the time it’s done ‘done’ I’m ready to partaaaaay - FREEDOM!!!
Then men are playing catch-up cos they accidentally deliberately missed all the warning signs & they’re sad af for ages

I read an article in a psychology journal that stated men and women grieve in very different ways. It went on to compare the two and that women actually approach grieving after a break up in a lot more healthy way than men do. Women grieve with a support group etc while men don't really do that. It was an interesting read. I need to see if I can find that link for anyone if they want to check it out.
edit: Found it if anyone wants a read: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/valley-girl-brain/201611/do-men-really-get-over-breakups-faster-women

I'm going through a LTR break-up right now and this is so damn true. It kind of makes me feel good that he's (LVM - never again!) not handling it well, because I was a fucking messy wreck at first and now I feel better than ever before, but he was so nonchalant about it at first.
I learned my lesson ladies, thank you for all of y'all's wisdom here. I'm never compromising myself or my dreams ever again, now nothing is more important to me than myself and building the life that I want.

lol my ex dumped me to go fuck women in germany. suddenly he was up in my email saying he was thinking of me after two months of not hearing from him. yeah probably figured out no women in germany wanted his dusty ass 9_9

[–]7_0f_9FDS Disciple44 points45 points46 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
thats what i figured lol so i just didn't really respond to him. i sent him a link to this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Apd-oewIv0c) and never heard from him again until years later when he wanted to have a "political discussion" with me. as soon as i told him i had a bf he suddenly was too enlightened for me lol

This is an amazing response!! Completely stealing this the next time my ex emails me from his “ultra top secret cheating email, since his new GF and him are honest with each other and he can’t talk to me “ 🙄

You'll see how veil thin "i just want to be friends" is when you tell them you are seeing someone new. They become super indignant after that.

The only reason this is accurate is because men are so out of touch with their feelings they’re severely stunted in life skills. Their own fault through patriarchy. It makes me laugh, insert dj Khaled, congrats you played yourself.
[–]circescircusFDS Disciple30 points31 points32 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol true.
But they're crying for themselves, not for the woman or the relationship.
A lot of guys are in relationships, feeling contemptuous towards their partner, because they think that if they were single, women would be throwing their drawers at them. They might reinforce that delusion by thinking a friend of the couple is into him, because she acts more friendly in his girlfriend's presence. Stuff like that. Men are really good at lying to themselves.
Then he breaks up with her or sabotages the relationship so she can break up with him, buys a mega box size of condoms, loads up his phone with apps, and is shocked that women aren't on his dick. This realization sinks in as the days, weeks and months go by. Then he starts to miss the companionship and human relationship he had with his ex. He may also realize she was the best he could do. He thinks, let me shoot my shot and message her.
Then he does this:

[–]GingyTheCattFDS Newbie11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They actually say women get over breaks up a lot more easily than men. I’ve noticed this myself even. I’ll get over a guy, while the dude will linger on me for years and years.
[–]TheHistoryMachineFDS Apprentice43 points44 points45 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
A more accurate comic would be to have the guy at one month buying guns and ammo and writing a manifesto about murdering "Stacy's" and "Chads", and then at two months committing suicide by cop after going on a shooting spree in a public place.

Every single guy I have ever dated whether I dumped them or they dumped me has contacted me between 2-6 months later. Sometimes just a ‘hey’, sometimes a shitty apology and in one case begging for me back. In all these cases I had long moved on. But it’s crazy how that works. Once someone is an ex to me that’s all they are. I don’t want them back and unless there was a genuine friendship worth salvaging I don’t want them in my life. Most of the time these guys just end up jumping into unfulfilling rebounds that make them more miserable than actually taking the time to grieve or work on themselves. Men don’t know how to be alone.

The EMAILS I have gotten from my ex almost six months later are insane and pretty much like this.
Email is the only way he knows to contact me as I’ve blocked him on everything else. He’s blocked on email too, but it all goes to spam and I regularly check that folder so I see them all.
