Don't interfere with an arrest, you're asking to get shot/tazed at worst and pushed away at best.
Excessive force isn't really an issue here. She interfered = pushed away. Throws a punch = gets punched back. By the time they were in the street the baton was meant to be a deterrent. If a man wielding a baton against your unarmed self is telling you to stop, your next inclination should not be to continue fighting him.

A sober man doing his job surrounded by very inebriated people. The drunk people do something that in their said state feels like the right thing and well thought out and the result is the officer controlling the situation. Yes sometimes it looks like an unnecessary over reaction but have you ever tried to stabilise a situation with drunk people. It’s hard, blend that with a full 6 hours prior of a shift dealing with possibly other elevated situations you get this result.

People always complain and point the finger with their respective police forces about over the top reactions, but they’re there to do a job. Dealing with shit like this is time wasted regarding their jobs to keep the peace. It’s easy nowadays to post a video or picture out of context about the police and make it into something to complain about because you have fuck all else to do with your life. But as soon as these people want any help they’re straight onto the phone to the very people they claim to be bad at their jobs. An unfixable situation fuelled by the stupidity of social media.

This looks like a half denial/half excessive force. The encounter should have ended around 17 seconds.

She punched him in he face, he punched her back then she was subdued by the Black White Knight. The cops had more than enough backup to say "Get on the ground!" and have everyone tackle her and the Black White Knight if need be cuff'em and take'em to jail for the night. That baton was just too fucking much.

Edit: CORRECTION the cop did not have enough backup. At the very beginning of the video the other cops are busy arresting some other drunk guy at the car. It was just the angry cop and the female cop vs the drunk girl and however many white knights chose to get involved. I honestly would probably taken out the baton too for my own protection, not knowing how many threats are going to appear, white knights being a common thing, but I still wouldn't hit her in the face with it.

ehhh she fucked up trying to interfere and also hitting the cop BUT this is also where officers are supposed to be keepers on the peace and should know when to be better people... After he got two good punches to her face and knocked her down they should have put her in cuffs... he should Not gone back over to her where you can clearly see words being exchanged as the officer loses his temper and walks over to her with aggressive posture carrying his baton with the intent to commit bodily harm to her before he reached for her hair to throw her on the ground again, not to defend himself nor to apprehend her for being a nuisance... He wanted to get pay back and "teach her a lesson" so to speak. I'm Glad she got her pass fuckin denied but that guy has no place being a cop if he cant keep his cool and gauge the situation and how to handle it properly considering all he did was get a little open hand smack from a drunk girl who he could have easily just arrested without throwing two hay makers and continuing to try and fight her on the street. He put himself on the same level as a thug in a street fight trying to flex his nuts by acting like that in front of a crowd of people and is exactly why people have a negative outlook on law enforcement. Both parties showed their asses for sure but the cop made it 10 times worse than it needed to be.
