She may have some kind of point here, or she may just want to be a bitch to her audience. But she is a horrid human being.

I dunno about "destroy", mainly because I doubt that the majority of the office got it, or took it like that.

But the point- which I got- is this:
One- Don't nitpick your way out of someone wanting to spend time with you.
Two- Dating is a equality situation, until it's agreed upon that it isn't.
Three- Don't talk down on someone else's dating/romantic situation when you don't have one of your own.

I went on a first date with a girl last week. Her first question she asked me is that if I was okay with going “dutch”. I had no idea what that meant (I am a 26M and been dating since I was 16), so I thought she said if it was okay that she was Dutch. I said yeah that’s fine. A minute later I asked what she actually said and what it meant, we are going on our second date tomorrow.

I’m not going to bother finding the whole show but it wasn’t clear to me if she was talking about her largely female audience “being single” or men who suggest going dutch. Context would help a lot but if the topic was say, “Men and why we hate dating them,” then even what appears to be her pointing into the gallery might just be a “hold on and pay attention to me” kind of gesture. Because as someone else mentioned I am quite surprised to see her apparently attacking her own people that way. Even with her pointed look into the camera, as if to address us viewers in particular. Women accusing other women of being single over one of their behaviors is an extreme insult among women. Much more so than among men in my experience.

Let's be clear, these women aren't man-haters. They're (seemingly) middle-age women who have most-likely lived within a system of semi-traditional gender roles for their whole lives. They're not hateful, they just don't understand that seemingly harmless roles like paying for dinner are part of a much larger tapestry of ways in which traditional gender roles significantly harm men. Ignorance isn't hate unless it's willful in the face of challenge and most of these women have never seen a feminist belief effectively challenged.

Post titles like this one are why this sub gets such a bad rep and work directly counter to the interests of the MRM. Anyone jumping on these hate-wagons should take a minute to switch the genders in their comments and see if they sound like the poisonous feminists we berate so often. We deepen the dogmatic rift and sabotage potential progress whenever we fail to do so.

This is a bit of a tangent, but there is a bit of a contradiction with the general concept of equality vs assuming differences in men's rights groups. Either you assume manhood, with a level of tradition and biologically-driven behaviors (in which case you pick up the bill) or you stand for equality of all treatment and fight against biased standards for sexes (and split bills).

Personally I'm for the former without a doubt and rather confront people when the dignity of manhood is put in question, rather than pushing for all things to be equal. But I see a lot of people confronting progressives for their disdain for traditional manhood AND for dual standards towards men... it can't be both.
