research shows that the number of false reports is in fact very low, and is not higher than for other types of crimes.

This erroneous claim goes back to Susan Browmiller and her uncorroborated claim that only 2% of rapes are false...like for other crimes.

The rate is NOT known. David Lisak recently performed a study on false accusations, and found about a 6% rate, but placed many of those accusations into a gray area because there was NOT enough evidence to say they were a false accusation or not. This does not mean the accusations were TRUE. Lisak also goes on to mention a few other studies he found credible in his report, the rate was high as 12% -there is no scientific evidence that supports the assertion that it is like any other crime!

So those men who are exonerated in court are still guilty? Her assumption is ignorant. I see that she got downvoted heavily for that comment, there is still hope!

Let's not get into the can of worms that are frivolous accusations, ones where the woman believes she was raped but in actuality wasn't. That makes feminist surveys on the topic USELESS.

EDIT: I forgot, not all false accusations of rape are reported to police. A false rape accusation can ruin someone's life and not even be known to police.

There is a difference between regret and assault.

Sure, it's logical to correct normative behaviors that have been adopted by society -- if those actions harm others. But it is also harmful to ostracize a gender for acting on their impulses bc they are viewed subjectively as morally wrong.

For instance... Does this woman also seek to protect those who are swindled by con artists? Those who overcommit their savings at the behest of an enterprising sales man? Does she seek to protect all who are being "taken advantage of"? Or just those of a particular kind, of a particular gender, because she sympathizes with their plight?

This matters bc the man who is robbed has a tangible loss to deal with. Can the drunk sorority girl say the same? Can this woman tie her feelings to anything tangible.. Or is it just feels. I strongly suspect her broad definition is the exact sort that feeds r/mensrights. She hurts her own cause by being so bombastic. It is not the way to net "progress".
