I hear you! I pay closer to $1,900 if it makes you feel any better. As well as all those other things. Sucks, especially since shes the one who I caught having a year long affair. I also have 50/50 custody. Keep in mind it’s all about the kids. The system is flawed yes. But it’s about your kids.

I have 50/50 and pay CS. She was without a job when we divorced so it would have been severe hardship on her and my kids if I did not give her CS and alimony. Even now that she has a job if I stopped the CS my kids would suffer. Don’t complain about the money. It’s about the kids. And for what it’s worth, I’m paying much more than you.

I would Never do it, but just to fuck with your ex in the beginning, say I’m just going to take my child 1 weekend a month. So basically 95/5. They would freak out. You’re like, I’m paying child support. What’s the issue. lol.

I only have my kids about 40%. I have to have a place for them, food, meds, etc. But I have to pay for that and money for them over there. (Alimony and child support). The money I pay pays for them, the mortgage, all the utilities, her car payment…..

Yeah and I pay medical/dental insurance and lucky me split other expenses.

5 years later and she still can’t find full time employment (because no one likes her). Fat chance someone marries her.

Just remember don’t talk success in detail to anyone she knows. Then they think they can get more money.

Shouldn't those things count against the amount of child support? At least that's how it is here fortunately (Austria). I also have to pay child support in 50/50, fortunately not that much (yet, it's increasing with the child's age) but those necessary expenses I pay reduce the amount of child support I have to pay.
The basic idea is to ensure there's equal money available for the child at both parents.
I only have to pay because my ex hasn't worked full-time in years and doesn't intend to (she's screwing herself when it comes to retirement, looking forward to hearing how that's gonna be my fault as well ...) and earns less than me. If our incomes were roughly comparable I might not have to pay at all, not gonna happen unfortunately.
I can handle 50/50 child care while also working full-time so there's no reason she couldn't do the same other than "I don't wanna".

Also fortunately don't have to pay alimony, that makes the whole thing way easier to handle, I only have to "pay" her for my child (and at 18 I can send the money to my daughter directly), I don't have to finance my ex's life. Paying for her, and her life with her new bf ... that'd really be rubbing salt into the wound every.single.month...

Close to mirror of my situation here in CO, I also have ‘maintenance’ for 5 1/2 more years of $850 month, because she wanted to stay home and I was able to facilitate working my butt off!

I’m in the same boat 50/50 care but yet have to pay her now 530 per month due to income difference and in the new financial year it goes up to 780 per month so far, because she’s lost her job.

Seeking capacity for employment or what ever it’s called since that’s available in my country which should bring that payment down nicely.
