He is 52 years old and decided to have his first child with his wife and he does not even remember that he has 3 other children who do not talk to him because of the ex-unfaithful

Today will be my first night alone. Heading into the winter with a plan to adopt a rescue dog walk him a lot, and weight lift 3 mornings a week. Intentionally taking 3 months off. Getting a lot of good advice from the book Gatekeeper by Shawn Smith.

Man.. forget the getting laid part.. I mean thats great and all. But after 40 to 50 or so.. I just want a home, no debt and ability to survive month to month. You're in great shape if you have a home with 500K+ profit (minus capitol gains if you dont buy another home similar in price).. money in the bank.. your freedom. That's the REAL win right there. Answer to no one but yourself. What a life!

Getting laid is NOT the hard part. As a matter of fact, I find getting laid now, waaaayyy easier.

It's finding someone you WANT to have sex with is the hard part.

I'm in kind of a similar place. Everything else in life is ok, but I'm 5 years out and haven't had any interest from women. No dates, let alone anything more. I'm decidedly not ok with it. I can't accept being alone and touch starved forever.

My wife of 40 years and 5 grown kids moved out last Saturday and I still love her. She says she doesn’t love me anymore and wants to separate for a while to find herself. We are still friends and I pray every day we will stay together. I have my house and savings and if she divorces me, she will get most of my 401k. I don’t want to be alone the rest of my life and I wonder if I will ever have sex again. Very sad to think that I may lose her because we actually get along pretty well. I suppose if we get divorced I will probably find someone else to grow old with so I won’t be alone, but right now, I can’t even think about that. I have lost my main purpose in life and find it hard to go through the daily motions. This isn’t how I imagined my life would be at 60.

Right here. You’re a year behind me. Only found one woman I really liked but it didn’t fly. Now no desire to even try. Retired, got tons of “cash”, and enjoying the peace.

Only ever on one dating site and most of the women look pretty scary when you get up to my age. The few dates I went on were no one (but one) I’d ever have any long term interest in seeing.

Took a bit of time to get used to this but now not having any retreats.

I’m hoping it gets better for me. I’m super lonely and miss my exwife. I’m on all the dating apps trying to make a connection, just simply texting some of these women helps get me through the day… I know it’s sad but it’s what I got and where I’m at.

If I had known being divorced was so awesome I would not have suffered in a miserable marriage for as many years as I did. Lack of drama is pure bliss. As for getting laid; sex toys are pretty good these days, enough so that getting a nut is very fun and there's none of the other bullshit that is required when a woman is in the equation.

I’ve commented before that my immediate fear as soon as my ex told me she wanted a divorce was that I was going to be alone the rest of my life. That was 16 months ago, divorce was final this past April.

I don’t have that fear anymore. I’m in my home, have primary custody of my daughter, my son lives with me when he’s home from college and I’m finally able to save money after getting through the divorce debt.

There’s a tranquility in my life now that I haven’t had in a while. I often question if a woman would disrupt that tranquility or compliment the life I’m rebuilding. I really don’t know but I’m in no rush to find out.

Similar. My life seems full enough without dating. I have the house and kids 50/50. Between work, maintaining the home, and time with the kids I barely have time. I dabble but mostly to battle loneliness rather than genuinely desiring it.

It’s not about women for me. It’s about my kids. It’s about not saying goodnight every night, tucking them in every night, missing milestones and holidays, and hearing how their day went.

It’s about losing my purpose. I just keep pushing forward hoping that a day comes where I finally feel something resembling who I was a year ago.
