A simple resolution - block her number or change your number. She will not stop so remove the choice from her consideration. There is no stranger behavior only manipulative. She is not longer a part of your life do your best to keep it that way.

All women do this with their exes. They dip their toe in the water from time to time to make sure that connection is still there in case they need to fall back on it. Very efficient survival strategy for females. It does not mean she is interested in getting back together or that she is leaving her new man. She is also reaching out to her exes prior to you and also lightly flirting with men at work/gym etc to build out those connections.

When she does reach out like this and if you do want to smash then invite her over to your place for dinner. Never a good idea to burn your bridges, most of the time exes turn into fuck buddies at some stage in the future. If she declines the dinner invite say no worries have a great day and end the conversation. She'll reach back out in 6 months or so again, and again invite her over for dinner and hookup if you want to.

She probably blocked you because 1) she felt foolish when you didn’t accept and 2) it helps to keep her from requesting you again. Ooooooooor I think if she blocks you before you see the request, it will remove the request from your notifications.

I think this is called hoovering. She wants to suck you back into her psychodrama. To continue to get her emotional kibbles from messing with you.

Best play is no response or the greyest of rocks. “I’m fine, thank you.” (This might be necessary if you are coparenting or something.)

My STBXW does this behavior as well, it’s very odd. I asked her why she does this and she straight up said, “I miss our connection and need to find ways to stay connected to you”.

My therapist said It’s part of the grieving process, and the best thing to do is ignore it. She will be angry you are ignoring her and say some nasty stuff about you, just stick with your boundaries.

Likely she misses you and has some sort of guilt or trauma about the relationship that she has not worked through. My STBX has guilt (seemingly) so is always saying how we will be friends and she loves me and makes up reasons for contact (I have asked for no contact other than copareting duties).

So it’s likely that there is some need for her to connect. Hard to know exactly what but I second your efforts to remain in a no contact situation and not take the bait.

If not for kids I wouldn’t ever speak to my X, maybe never again but who knows.
