I sometimes wear mine when I go to a bar or a club. More women approach me when I'm wearing a wedding band ROFL. I don't have any interest, if I'm in a club it's bc a DJ I'm a fan of is there but I kinda wear it as a social experiment

She sold her ring and I tossed mine in the backyard. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest anymore. Time has a way of not making you care about $5k you spent 10 years ago or whatever.

I still have mine and hers. I took hers to get appraised and they came back with literally quarter of what I paid for them. I may hang on to them and give them to our daughters. But idk if I ever need the cash I guess theyre sitting in my truck till then.

I took mine to Smith, and they are going to melt down. But, it was made of Tungston, not gold, though. It is super hard to get a high enough temp to melt tungsten, but this guy has the equipment to do it.

Once I figure out what I want to make out of it, I will repurpose it into that.

Ask yourself, why would i hold on to something that meant nothing to her? Many people keep stuff for memories or hope she will all of a sudden decide to come back. It often holds you back from moving on with your life. Now is the time to physically get rid of rings so you can mentally move on.

Consider how lucky you are that she left then behind. Mine took them, refused to sell, etc. Do yourself a favor, go to a pawn shop and get whatever they give you. Never think of it again.

I used to think I would burn my wedding ring and some type of bullshit symbolism. But then I figured, why should waste anymore of my energy on this (divorce). My ring is buried in some drawer someplace.

I recommend being rational and pragmatic about it.

Nothing is more "moved on" as perceiving objects for what they are; no attached narratives.

Can you sell it? Can you use it as a screw in your bicycle?

If they are valuable, I had a buddy sell them on poshmark and got a couple 1,000 back. I didn't get her ring in the divorce, but I wish I would have asked for it. Oh well.

I threw mine in a river. I demanded the ex’s back, even though legally I could do nothing. I shamed the hell out of her, and she returned it. I will pawn it when ready, and put the money towards my son’s disability fund.

I still have mine, it’s in a box in the closet. Divorce was finalized last week, but we’ve been separated since Oct ‘23 and “divorcing” since March ‘24.

I don’t know yet what I’m going to do with mine, but figure I’ll hold onto it for at least a year or two until I can make a decision without emotions involved. What bugs me the most is my ring was made by a custom artist jeweler, so it’s truly one of a kind. I really loved that thing, and not just because it was a symbol of our love - I actually picked out the design.

I thought that when my wife took hers off that it was because of not fitting anymore, boy was I wrong- she was planning on leaving me. She left me with an almost empty house mid May and I officially moved out of same house a few days ago. She requested I not be there when she walks thru to get the rest of her stuff- she's made 2 trips to get her stuff, this'll be the 3rd. She'll walk a realtor thru, and to get a donation company to pick up what she doesn't want. I left my ring in the same storage case she used to keep her rings in, I want to be a fly when she finds it.

Child of divorced parents perspective - if you have kids, might consider stashing them away for when your kids are older. One of my parents has passed and although they divorced & both remarried, I treasure their wedding rings. It’s a reminder for me that how traumatic the divorce was for all of us, there was once a time I was born because of love.

It’s been decades since their separation and even though there’s been healing for all of us, as an adult child from divorce it still can be difficult navigating through the remarriages, births of half siblings, blended families. The rings for me serve as grounding that despite all the changes I was wanted and was loved.

You could try to sell them, but you'll then learn how little used marriage jewelry really is. I think I got $50 for a 18k gold ring. Almost not worth the gas.......

Pawn shop or, if you want to maximize your profits sell them on ebay or fb marketplace.

Use the money to pay your alimony/child support that month.

If you really want to stick it to her tell her that's where this month's payment came from.

Ya so I just threw mine away. It was only like 200 dollars silver band, didn’t figure I’d get much money out of it. I would sell yours if it’s worth something.

Also on that note. I got rid of all the pictures or anything that was given to me by her. It’s hard but it’s the right thing to do in my mind.
