I was temporarily prescribed Ambien for an acute medical issue that impacted my sleep for a short duration of time. My doctor warned me of potential vivid dreams and side effects so I communicated them to my NVM because I would choose to cease the meds if this was my instance.. I vividly remembering "dreaming" that I had sex with my NVM. I told him the next night my "dream" and he ADMITTED to "having sex" then cried to "play victim" because he "didn't mean to assault me because I seemed very lucid and he was 100% sure I was consenting and able to tell him yes." I remember sharing this with a newer therapist and they SIDED with this POS despite me SHARING that the reason I told him that info was to be mindful and observant of how the meds would have affected me.

Covert sexism is so embedded in our systems, including medical and mental health realms. Victim blaming, especially with "medical conditions" that impact the ability for a woman to "provide" sex to a man is often questioned or if it could possibly be assault, men are treated as "victims" for "not knowing." We need to call it out for what it is. It's assault. It doesn't matter.
