It’s obvious what’s happened here: he offered to pay for her education if she repaid him with sex. Now that she has nothing more to gain from this arrangement (since she’s able to earn her own money now), she has no reason to continue doing sex work (which is what that relationship was)

I have seen a lot of these kinds of posts. Once, I saw a woman post that she doesn't want to be with her husband anymore after she lost a lot of weight and got a college degree and was able to make lots of money more than him. What I saw was a woman who was probably negged into a relationship with an abusive loser due to her weight and economic class, and now that she realized she has some worth as a human being (not that she ever didn't), she realized she could be in a relationship she is actually happy in. What everyone else saw was "oh, this man who loved you all those years despite you being fat and broke isn't good enough for you anymore?". People will go out of their way to ignore the greater dynamics of a situation like this and pretend that people's decisions exist in a vacuum. Most of our society believes that men are entitled to have a woman in their lives. Merely losing weight and getting a college degree wouldn't make me stop loving a man who is objectively good for me, so that's how I know something else was going on there.

For anyone concerned, Kwamashu is one of the first South African township created specifically for BIPOC to be separated to during apartheid in the 1950s. They were funneled there, and the population is now predominantly male Zulu. It is an incredibly unsafe place for women. In case it's real she really owes him nothing. She could repay him the financial debt as an act of gratitude for supporting her education and walk away. Men do this to women all the time so shouldn't be a shock when it's reversed.

Even if this is real, it's not like men don't do FAR worse shit to women every single day lmao. Countless women have dated a scrote who couldn't afford his rent, so they move in with him and pay half + give him free sex, therapy, meal & cleaning service. Then when he starts making more money he dumps her for a more expensive woman.

Or worse, men ask women to give up their lives to get pregnant, perform ALL the labor taking care of those kids for years, just for him to cheat and leave for a younger woman. And this is completely normalized and common. 🤡

Omg this is happening to my bestie. She’s always been so driven but has been with her bf who doesn’t have like, anything going for him right now, for seven years. She’s talking about grad school and leaving the state to do so and he’s not willing to go with or expand his horizons and keeps picking fights with her about it. Except:
