Wtf were those questions? Name the winner of multiple 20+ year old boxing matches, number of rounds it went, and outcome of the match? Even if it was the height of pop culture those are super impressive details to remember, she’s amazing.
The host is an ass double checking with the booth if his card is correct and saying doubtfully that he has to assume it is because he can’t believe she’s smarter than a man.

She was told the subject a week in advance. Instead of crumbling into tears as they expected, she went and got reference materials and quizzed herself on it all week. When she came back, she was super prepared.

Hmm I feel iffy about this as a strategy. In this case, it's great; nurturing achievement & drive is great no matter the gender of your child. However, I've seen fathers take it too far by discouraging their daughters from embodying any stereotypically feminine qualities.
I guess that's a disagreement between lib fem & rad fem. Lib fem wants equality by treating more women like men. But I'd love to be in a world where I don't have to be more masculine (or enjoy stereotypically masculine things) in order to be respected.

This was really interesting and quite difficult to watch. It felt disrespectful. These men are in the presence of someone amazing. Someone who has contributed more value to the world than they ever have. It’s so jarring to me when they dismiss her research discussion to intentionally misunderstand and make it an innuendo. It’s so reductive and typical of men.
As a scientist, this has happened to me too many times to count. Ill try to explain a concept and be interrupted for a stupid joke, innuendo or intentional misunderstanding. They see our opinions and understanding of things as unimportant. They wouldn’t do this to a man.

Meh, she’s from a completely different generation, when managing to keep your employment after you married was the main feminist issue. She’s seen a world where she couldn’t go buy her own house or land or open her own bank account - a man has to sign for it.
When she says penis size doesn’t matter, she may be speaking for herself or her generation - not because it doesn’t matter, but because sexual satisfaction is at a different place on the Maslow hierarchy of needs than basic economic security.

I could not believe that even as recently as the '60s women could not open bank accounts on their own or have credit cards on their own. Their husbands had to sign for them. I think maybe single women were allowed to have bank accounts but not credit cards at some point. That is completely insane. It's mind-blowing frustrating and honestly heartbreaking how so many are so blind to this stuff that's staring them right in the face.
I also think if you're dealing with a guy who you're compatible with and who genuinely loves you, you can make that stuff work! I would take that any day over an arse with any dick size. I know what it's like to have body parts criticized by someone who is supposed to love me and it made me feel like the biggest pile of crap so I wouldn't want to do that to someone I love and who genuinely loves me. I'm going to assume that if they're the right kind of guy they would not do that to me in the first place so there wouldn't be a need.

Yes, I feel the same. I assume most physical rules are either vetting factors or guidelines to ensure a relationship benefits both parties. There’s always room to balance the cons with pros. They’re not necessarily meant to be dealbreakers with people who you know love and support you long-term.

I think many men perennially underestimate women's capabilities - in the workplace, at home, in academia, and basically in all facets of life - and that it sometimes becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Too often I've let men's perceptions of me as a woman change how much effort I put into parts of my life, even though I know I'm capable of so much more in different areas.
I want to level up for myself and for other women, in spite of most men and many women who are puppets of the patriarchy.

Awesome to see this! I love stories about women defying the odds, but especially when men purposefully try to stack the odds against them.
Firstly, it shows the resiliency and amazing abilities of women. And secondly, it shows that men are sore losers and cheaters and the only reason women haven't excelled throughout history the same way as men is because men have been purposely keeping us down, because they know we can kick their asses at almost everything.

In my country more women take science degrees at university than men, men try to claim it's because of quotas even though I didn't see a single programme for women when I was applying. In fact, the only quota thing I saw was for men since there were so few doing biology in this one uni.
I think some men can't handle the truth that they aren't better at things just because they're men, they want to feel special and get annoyed when anyone suggests misogyny is to blame for women being behind in the past.

That second part you said about how men have been stacking things against us on purpose is a recent revelation. I mean there are ways that that was obvious but coming across things like this and finding out about so many prominent historical successful men had women in the background who were waiting on them hand and foot which enabled them to do what they were doing. I wonder how many men wouldn't have made all the advances and discoveries and whatever if some woman wasn't taking care of everything behind the scenes. I guess that's where that phrase comes from, 'Behind every successful man is a good woman' or whatever it is. I'm all for teamwork and people supporting each other and building each other up but that's so out of balance there aren't even words to begin to describe it.

Bang on. They've had their mommy, personal assistant bangmaids for centuries. They've prevented women from getting an education and entering the workforce for centuries. They've left women do to a disproportionate amount of childcare for centuries.
Of course men have had the time to dedicate themselves to their interests and careers. There's been a woman taking care of everything else for them!
Now imagine if women had had the same luxuries throughout history. Imagine all the amazingly intelligent women and the discoveries and advancements we could have made as a society.

This reminds me of an account I read of how some men reacted to women wanting to run for office back in the early 1900s I believe? I've got to look it up to find the specifics but they put a woman's name in the ballot on purpose or let her run on purpose hoping to shame her and hoping that she would lose. She ended up winning!
