Things we could do to "fix" the plummeting birth rate:

pay women more
provide 12 months fully paid maternity leave (at the expense of the government if the company is too small to provide leave)
provide 6 months fully paid paternity leave
socialize young boys to be fathers and not just soldiers
birth expenses are free (SERIOUSLY why should it cost a family tens of thousands of dollars?)
childcare is provided by the state, childcare workers are paid and trained appropriately.
provide a "birth box" for new moms with supplies and information about infancy and pregnancy recovery
treat childbirth and especially c-sections as the incredibly traumatic medical experiences that they are and provide maternal aftercare
honor motherhood. This is the biggest. Why should women sacrifice so much of their bodies and their lives and their money if at the end of the day, motherhood is an expectation from us and not a blessing we give to the world.

I've been travelling the world for the past 8 years while building my career as a translator (online) and getting my PhD, and I spend less money than my friends at home. And I own a house :)

But honestly, the vast majority of guys I meet are just wandering around doing random jobs and trying to bang as many girls as possible. Which is unfortunately why my lifestyle is pretty much a death sentence for any hope of a decent relationship.

Although to be honest the non nomadic men I met in my life were terrible too, so I guess it doesn't make much of a difference after all...

Tbh as a childfree woman I don't blame people who want to travel instead of having kids. I think the bigger problem is men being generally low value, not just travel.

Maybe in the US, but in more traditional countries like for ex Serbia where I live millenial men are basically boomers and want the wife, the house, the stability, not this disgusting, selfish bachelors life. Ofc there are 146612772 bad things about serbian men, but this is one of the good things.

Would anyone in these birthrate studies like to factor in the deadly potential of pregnancy and childbirth into the falling birth rate?? Like sorry, I'd like to not very possibly die just to produce a future taxpayer 🙄. Grosses me out how governments' concerns over falling birth rates are that they won't have a large enough working class to tax. Oh my the horror, that's definitely why I should risk my life, risk potential life-long lasting damage to my body, and irreparably change my life forever by having kids with some scrote...cuz the economy. Lol.

The birth rate is men’s fault entirely. Women who give birth are in a vulnerable state & often subjected to emotional and financial abuse. Fix that or enjoy the decline

This is true. I have been future faked with children and marriage for years and if it wasn't was LVMen who bluntly lie to your face just to feed off your money and love, I would already have a child or two. I was literally lied to for years and even proposed to, until I was 29 and the actual marriage and children should've happened. But no. The society still blames me as a 30-year-old woman with a career and my own home for not having kids. They should blame the manchildren of today, thinking they have until their 40s to run around after their hedonistic tendencies, and then actually believing they can settle with a twenty-something old girl to have a family.

It's interesting travel is considered self indulgent but creating another human being in ones own likeness isn't.

I have no children. I've been told that's selfish.

I can't think of anything more selfish than literally creating a human being.

Raising a child is not selfish, no, but creating one for zero reason other then wishing another human has some of my DNA is.

We have so many children that need care (fostering comes to mind primarily). If one has the drive to parent or to care for another human in my eyes that's the way to go.

It's not the traveling but the bar men is literally underground.

Men aren't expected to help with the childcare, house work, or even sacrifice anything.

Many women refuse to have children because there's not support system. They're expected to pay for half of the nursery and baby essentials, pay completely for their maternity wear and even financially contribute to all living expenses.

I'm Mexican and in many Latin American countries men are expected to fully contribute financially to everything related to the baby and the pregnancy. If they're becoming home makers they manage the man's paycheck to make sure bills and rent is paid. They're also are taken care of financially.

Why should women have to pay bills when they already cutting down their hours at work, calling out of work, taking a pay cut or completely leaving their jobs. Men dont have to do any of this. They don't pause or stop their careers.

If you take some time you can find cheaper way to travel while having nice vacation. My brother, sister in law and their children do it. They are responsible with their money and save it.

I don't think man who travel is better than ones who don't. I would find out about what they really did before being impressed. Many popular places have rape industry men all around world visit. International rape industry is huge money maker.

There are more underlying causes for falling birth rates than just millennial men traveling. Most of them can't afford shit. This is a class and wealth distribution issue, not just men vs women.

As a happy Third Culture Kid, I have a heavy bias towards world travel being one of the best experiences a person can have, and one of the best gifts a parent can give a child (I don’t see marriage and kids as a reason to go “settle down” and hang out in the suburbs for 30 years- kids and marriages both benefit from a much more enriching environment than that, IMO).

A well-travelled man is a huge plus in my book, but not if he went overseas only to sexpat, do tons of hardcore drugs on the cheap, and be a lazy bum for a decade. To earn a degree, learn a language, go backpacking and see amazing stuff on a student’s budget? That’s a very different story. But yeah, we need details about what this guy actually did with his time and money overseas.

Where I live now, most men hardly leave their home state and are proud of it. Not my cup of tea, and no surprise I married someone from a different country....who is also the opposite of a self-indulgent expat bum though, LOL. I have definitely seen the type and it’s like they clone themselves!

It’s not the world travel. It’s the drug and alcohol abuse while hopping to and from every girl’s bed they can. All while putting almost no effort in to be successful at work or keep their living quarters clean and presentable. Millennial men are teenagers with beer guts.

Women have the final say in reproduction for all of society. They are the more important ones as well, because the entire process develops and is carried and is birthed out of women’s bodies. Scrotes can’t stand this/are afraid of this (womb envy), and will conduct smear campaigns against women until they are blue in the face rather than ever take any blame for anything

Edit: additionally, the pro-life movement is specifically designed to prevent women from having their final say, as another example

I know what you mean. I used to tell an ex that while I love to travel it is sad for me to do so without a nest to come home to. He was put off by the idea of .... having a warm meal around a family table to look forward to after an adventure? It must just all be about sex and looking cooler than he really is in front of foreign ladies. Travel for him was about ego. He didn’t want to be the guy who didn’t travel. That need to feel cool was stronger than any pull to an individual experience of culture, and stronger than any respect he had for my dreams and fertility timeline.

I like kids. But to have one? That would take having a HVM partner who would care for the child as much as I do, emotionally, economically, in all aspects, AND protect me and the child, take care of the house, the whole package. So, be better men or enjoy declining birth rates and receding hairlines.

The issue is that nobody should be concerned with "falling millenials birthrate" unless they're a nationalist or white supremacist. Birth rates have been falling for practically 2 centuries. That's what happens when they nearly all start living to adulthood and you never need them to perform labor to keep up with the land. It's not like humans are on the brink of extinction . We have more than enough people. I take the fact middle class white western women arent popping 2.5 kids out anymore as a point of pride.
