Datingsubs in general are just a meme at this point. Dating over 30, 40, 50... Dating advice, relationship advice... etc...

its just a "reddit bubble" of frustrated people who continuesly give bad advices to other people. Keep in mind, people who are successful or in a healthy relationsship are not on those subreddits. they are there for a reason.

Many of them are trapped in that cycle. They cannot admit that they could be the problem, because that is too much accountability. They fail to mature emotionally, and while they are lonely and hurting they find solace in blaming men for their situation. It allows them to escape the pain that they hide from. It lets them pretend that they are victims in a world of opportunities.

There are also men who have the same approach in hiding from their own pain, but our culture doesn't allow us to stay in that mental state. There is no support or validation for us. Both a blessing and a curse. It makes the pain harder to bear but forces us to work through it.

A few of the women in those groups have faced abuse in the past, but it is still their responsibility to work through their trauma. But our culture constantly validates their hatred of men and encourages them to keep their lifelong victim mentality. We want to help them, but they are far more likely to attack us than have a meaningful discussion.

A while ago I raised this on a sub about a man getting falsely jailed for rape cos a women misidentified him, his word against hers. He rotted and died a jail but years later DNA evidence exonerated him. No comeuppance for the women, one dead man. Apparently nobody liked this and downvoted me.

I'm 66M. Any interaction with women, particularly on the internet, is largely a dangerous waste of time. I have stopped interacting with women unless there is no alternative to it. It is just not worth the trouble or potential negative outcome. There was a post on this site a few days ago where a man lost his gym membership because he turned down a woman that wanted to date him. There's going to be a lot of single men because the standards are shifting people are less likely to give average men a chance everyone seems to be shooting higher than their own value these days. There is a general entitlement happening in the world of dating where women are dating way up and men are having to date way down. I think traditional values like your job and ability to be independent aren't really relevant anymore it's shifted to things like how big is your six pack and do you have a face like God. Some people are frustrated enough with this we have sort of soft quit on trying because it's unrealistic. Guys are beating themselves up like anorexic teenagers to try and be attractive. Take a look at how eating disorders in men are on the rise in younger age groups.

I do not feel sorry for women in the slightest when they inevitably end up single, bitter & childless. They had everything handed to them on a silver plate by being born female & they completely abused & neglected that privilege. Very few things destroy my sanity as much as online dating on the mainstream apps, and my opinion of women are probably semipermanently fractured from my experiences with it.

You see the dregs of humanity, the bottom tier, the worst of the worst there. I (43f) have a question as someone who is only just dipping my toe into dating (was married a long time, it’s been over emotionally for years—mutual—and we co-parent 1 child amicably and still support each other as friends, etc.). Are you guys mainly seeing weird behavior from women who have children or childless? Divorced/widowed versus never married? I would say that men and woman over 50 have both been through the ringer as far as relationships, and just life in general. I tend to give everybody the benefit of the doubt, until they give me a reason why I shouldn’t.

I really wish that men and women, and just people in general, would just be kinder to each other.
