I don't want to "sow my oats" then abandon my kids, but I do want to father and raise kids of my own. I have zero interest in raising someone else's kids. I can't really explain why I feel this way, other than it's ingrained in me. Why do we want anything? Why not just be content to sit in a pod and eat slop? We don't live in trees but our core desires are built into our DNA.

As a person who is snipped and doesn't want kids ever, this post is weird. Wanting to have your own children is not a fetish and I don't see the issue with wanting your own over being a step parent or adopting. And why do you act like this is something on men when the vast majority of women would rather babe their own child as well?

First of all, I am not a RP and do not have a "breeder fetish" and I certainly do not plan to be a deadbeat father, but in the future I want a family with my own children. The possibility of dating a single mother for me will only make sense in 10-15 years, and it would be nice even then to have my own children

And why is it important to have biological children? Because it has been proven many times that intelligence, temperament and innate abilities for something are inherited from parents and ancestors. And this is not to mention other phenotypic features that also come from parents. And here you don't even need to be "talented" to pass something on, most people THROUGHOUT the history of mankind have been average and yet we have successfully survived precisely because of this.

Because like it or not, humans are also animals. No matter how smart we are, we can't beat our natural programming and its in our programming to want to spread our genes. You thinking its weird is like a cow thinking its weird for a hyena to eat other animals instead of grass. Maybe its not in your programming but it is in most other people

Sure, some people dont care and will look after someone else's kid, but it usually only because they failed to have kids themselves, either due to circumstances or their own biology but since they still have that paternal or maternal instinct, they adopt.

I like the idea my kid is an extension of myself and I will live on through them. I'm pretty sure this is what most men subconsciously feel and the reason for the preference for raising their own kid. Although I respect those who adopt kids not their own considering this is what my step father did for me, I prefer raising my own child that would feel much more relatable than someone else's.

I'm adding myself to the chorus stating that men have a natural drive to procreate. And let's not act like it's one-sided. For the first five years of my marriage, my wife and I always said we would be child-free, and we had sex with condoms on, at least whenever it was my turn to climax; at a certain point later on, she started strongly hinting to me that she wanted me to cum in her, climaxing (heh) in me pulling out one night and her somewhere between being offended and ready to cry.

Finally, I came around to her point of view, and the truth is that I got addicted to how delicious and intimate having no barriers feels. For a while, I had honestly thought one or both of us were infertile, until she got pregnant a little over two years after we had said goodbye to condoms. Even though this was an unexpected turn in our lives, we absolutely adore our son.

However, to backtrack a bit, I want to reiterate that the eroticization of reproduction is hardly unique to males. My wife told me that she thought it was hot that I got her pregnant, and that this was increased by the fact that I managed to do it despite the fact that she was over 40, which I guess made me more studly in her eyes.

I mean, I'd take that over the vague, BS non-answers I seem to get about the kid question from men I've dated. So many of them are not sure or only want them "someday, maybe" despite pushing 40. Shit or get off the pot! What are you so unsure about?

While I don't support mass breeding without care for kids approach, having biological kids is a goal of mine.

Why not adopt? Why not foster?

I have a negative experience with adoption. Unfortunately, there are some genetic traits that to a certain degree defines character traits. I am not claiming it to be universal truth, and maybe in that case it was too late (adopted at 6 or 7), but nonetheless. Also having biological kids is a sort of immortality. You take everything that is you, everything that is a person you love and create a new person. Isn't it beautiful?

If a man wants to have biological kids and not be a stepdad, I don’t see an issue as long as he intends to actually be a father to those kids. Many people of both genders feel that way. Now when it comes to calling other stepdads “cucks” and such, yeah that’s stupid.

When it comes to “breeding kink,” I’m not going to comment on other people’s kinks, so long as it’s either just a fantasy and he’s not actually doing shit like poking holes in condoms. Some women have this kink too, and same applies. If it’s either just a fantasy, or you and your partner wanna make a lot of babies and actually have the means and desire to raise them… whatever. Just don’t push your kink on the rest of the world, which is what seems to be going on with some conservative types.

The "it's biology" trope can only be used in very specific modern scenarios, such as "women give birth and men don't." That is a thing that still very much applies to the modern world. The whole thing about needing to "pass on their genes" is so irrelevant to the modern era it's laughable. No, you--the random guy out of 8 billion--do not have to spread your genes.

One of the things I find frustrating is that there's all this discourse about what it means to be a man, and I don't see a lot of guys advocating for being involved committed fathers. Though if there's any real core to all the alpha nonsense, in turns of drawing parallels from wolves, that's the core of what being an "alpha" is - wolf packs are primarily family groups, and the alpha pair are the parents. A lot of men are obsessed with the idea of authority (though wolf packs aren't notably patriarchical) but don't seem to give a crap about doing the work.
