The GSS data he's referencing was collected in early 2021, about a year into the pandemic.

One sex was far more fearful and compliant during the pandemic than the other.

It doesn't matter what he or any TRP guru or follower claims. The research studies matter, alone. Asking men about their sexual activity or inactivity doesn't work because you have to keep in mind that potentially lots of men are going to be dishonest about their actual sexual status, due to the simple fact that being a virgin man means you are a loser - in the eyes of other people -, while being a virgin woman is a virtue. So nobody likes the idea of admitting to being a 'loser', thus chances are the vast majority of men aren't going to tell you the truth in terms of their sexual status.

I have a very simple refutal for your post based on missing context.

Chris says the old study was up to 2018, while the newer study up to 2021, same organization.

It makes sense for young women to have had less sex in this timeframe because of covid. Women are generally more likely to shy away from sex if their health is on the line. On average.

Old study is more accurate.

I think even his updated data is out of date.

Latest data is 11%of women and 12% of men didn’t have sex in the last year. So roughly equal. That was another post on PPD I saw a few weeks ago although I don’t think that was just 18 to 30 data.

I think these numbers are clearly super volatile.

One way I could see RP creators spinning the numbers reported in the tweet is that fewer and fewer women want sex so this will lead to more competition for the few that do so a man really needs to stand out.

More importantly though I’m just very curious why our data is so horrifically awful on this topic. It clearly draws a lot of interest and it also radicalizes men to some extent. So I’d hope there’s a push to actually get accurate data on this important topic.

Young people have less sex now by quite a bit compared to 20/30 years ago so depending on what age you start counting from you can make the numbers of sexless people look really high. There is a lot more entertainment going on these days like videogames and meth.

Yeah, it was based on one survey and people just kind of kept repeating year after year. Even tho, that was most likely only applicable to that one year (2018, I think).

I would say it’s just the RP adjusting to new data or whatever. I don’t think the claim was ever that the majority of men couldn’t get laid. But if anyone did claim that than yeah, that should put the nail in the coffin on that I guess.

Well for that you would also have to pretend that red pill is some force of unbiased truth. Rather it is a circlejerk of angry jaded men that will keep them in that angry - "all women biologically manipulative and against us" view .

Red pill podcasts are designed to be sensationalistic and anger bait to keep the angry men to keep coming back to their channels and giving them views. If they would actually help you and you would leave why would you keep coming back?

They don’t really believe in any research that disproves what they are saying and believe that it’s all made up to be against them.

I keep reading 80% of women do x thing or 10% of men get all the women etc. But if you ask for sources it’s usually “their experience” or “their observations”.

I don't consider the idea of "Only Chad has a regular sex life!" to have any validity in it. In fact, someone who's had only a single partner could have more sex than someone who's had 20 partners. A person in a steady, loving relationship is likely to have more sex than someone who has only casual partners.

Most end up in the position of having a few long-term relationships over the course of their life, maybe with the occasional casual encounter. A small minority have sex all the time, and while many might decide they want more than flings, there are those who don't, even into middle age. And there's another small minority who may never experience sex or any kind of relationship.

The data has always been muddy. But you have to understand that whether women were sharing Chad or not has always been somewhat irrelevant in the big picture. What matters more is whether levels of sexlessness are generally high for either or both genders. The real issue is whether the genders are starting to part company, for whatever reasons.
