Once those things that you mentioned are fully fleshed out, there will likely be a mass exodus of men from the dating market, and I know what most women will say: well those are the undesirables and we don't care. This is fine as most women don't see men under 3/4 in attractiveness as people anyway.

However, a lot of other industries will suffer, like OF/prostitutes and the like. Other comments will likely say that we need that real human connection or what not but I beg to disagree our monkey brains were never prepared for this and many who have fur babies cope just fine so some next-level AI sexbot 9000 is definitely going to do the trick for a lot of guys.

In the end, the top % of men will likely have harems as most women would rather be part of that than to settle, and then fertility rates will go to JP/S KR levels.

I think they're actually a lot more men who struggle with dating and finding a partner than women care to admit in the current day and age but this will be hard to prove to the ladies (and most won't care) so when these events come to pass we can see in real-time how many men actually do leave the dating market to be a passport bro or get some ai robot companion.

Here's my prediction. In the next 15 years if humanity hasn't experienced a calamity that destroys technology. A significant population of people will be separated from each other in their own worlds.

Continuing to talk about it over and over again is pointless like bringing up male birth control. The game is to wait and try to survive until that time.

I can’t envision a societal shift that would make “dating” an AI or having sex with a robot something that would induce anything other than ridicule. That’s not to say men won’t still do this, but most will keep quiet about it.

Birthrates will plummet, and men will be framed as misogynists for opting out of normal relationships with women in exchange for virtual relationships with ai. AIs/robots don't benefit women relationship wise. They don't receive anything from them monetarily as well as statuswise, and the latter isn't desperate for attention, unlike men.

AI will temporarily pacify some men, but men will always long for the real thing.

I think it will help both men and women who struggle with dating as well as help decrease the population since ai chatbots and sex bots will be available long before cloning is approved and made cheap enough for the masses.

I actually think ai will be a net positive for society at large since ai bots can be used in a wide array of areas such as in nursing homes, orphanages, hospitals and homes where individuals are lonely or depressed and just need someone to talk to that provides emotional support. I can see students of all levels using ai bots to help them study or learn a skill or start a business. Ai is fantastic and not just for a relationships.

Interesting topic, no doubt. I think the real game-changers will be more along the lines of artificial wombs and cheaper surrogacy. I don't think companionship is as important for men as it is for women, so I don't think AI girlfriends and sexbots will make much difference; but women are almost 100% necessary if a man wants to have children. I say companionship is more important for women because they have the option of sperm banks and generally don't take that option.

Whether people like to accept it or not, lots of men are growing tired of the average woman's bullshit and baggage, skewed divorce/family courts, and other things we have to put up with due to the nature that family creation currently takes two to tango.

When family creation becomes more of an option for a bachelor, we should see more valued men start to pull away. Look at how things are right now, with how men are walking away in droves and solo family formation isn't even a viable option yet. Introduce new options for having progeny and women will have to become more desirable in terms of character and general disposition towards men; not just as a means to bring men back, but to keep more from leaving.

At the very least:

~2% of women in the United States will become unemployed with multi-modal VR, AI, Chatbots. This includes any woman in an online sex worker capacity. If these women want to remain in sex work they'll be forced to do SA, escorting, stripping - things that are not screen dependent.
Men who currently pay for SA, escorts, strippers - will have a low cost alternative. Currently 2D porn is a less than 1% of simulated sex. VR porn is about a 4% simulation of sex. With drugs maybe 8%. When VR/AI crosses some %, men will shift to digital simulations over SA, escorts, strippers. The Apple Vision Pro (releasing 2024) will probably increase immersion to 8% without drugs.
When 1. and 2. happens, you'll have an exodus of men from traditional sex worker market (demand) and an increase in sex workers (supply). Prices will necessarily go down.
Men already use porn in-relationships. This causes problems ranging from jealousy by women to more refractory cycles being spent by men on VR/AI. I suspect this will make men within relationships have more sexual bargaining power.

Notice that all of the above will happen without sex robots and without even broaching the topic of "men leaving their girlfriends".

Tech, particularly Social Media, have given women more options and contradictory, encouragement to avoid dating unless it's a near perfect match with a partner. Men, while improving, just aren't meeting this expectation. There's a huge male loneliness problem that's coming, if not already here. Capitalism will leverage this for a market as single men traditionally is the demographic with the most disposable income. Potential market disruptions could come in the form of increased mail order bride databases, AI with possible human assisted girlfriends (think more the character Samantha in the movie 'Her' than Joi in 'Blade Runner 2049' although Joi would be the goal), and even gig economy companion solutions like a rent a girlfriend/cuddling Services like those gaining traction in Japan. In essence, tech has always been capitalism most efficient means of correcting market inefficiencies and dating will be no exception once it gets bad enough in the coming years

High internet speed 4K pornography has already changed how men relate to women and it has been doing it for the past 20 years. Young men can't get it up anymore for a real girl in their bed because they've conditioned their dick and their brain to be turned on by pixels on a screen.

AI chatbots and sex robots won't change dating at all. They'll eventually be considered equal to humans, or at least equal to cats and dogs, and society will make laws against mistreating them, including sexually exploiting them. Slavery is illegal for a good reason.

In addition, if an AI chatbot or sex robot is programmed to be intelligent enough, it will reject undesirable men just as much as real women reject undesirable men.

VR might change things in the same way that free online porn and video games change things, but in a much worse way. Even more men will check out from being productive in society. If there is enough AI/robot productivity and a basic income by then, though, then it won't really make a big difference that they do.

I'm hoping for a technological 'fix' to dating apps. I don't know what would need to be done there, perhaps something like the Black Mirror episode 'Hang the DJ' where algorithms are used to help determine the likelihood of a successful pairing.

Tech has already changed everything. Let me be clear, not all women are brainwashed by social media but a good 40%-50% are influenced by it. Instagram is the down fall of the western woman. The amount of attention has become a drug for them. This led to onlyfans to capitalize on the attention from average men. Originally, women used social media to attract high value men but soon learned that they were sharing the hottest/richest men. Those men are the serial cheaters women complain about. Therefore they couldn’t extract much money/value from these men and it turned the women towards camming/onlyfans. Since covid, I have noticed the insane rise of sugar baby relationships. Even average women are now participating. Out of curiosity, I messaged my tinder matches about a sugar relationship and the results were insane. Previously, only 5% of my matches would meet up for a date. When I mentioned an interest in exchanging money early on, many women started giving me attention like crazy. Some women were inexperienced and you could tell but they were letting down their guards and boundaries for a promise of an allowance every month. Sex work has exploded in popularity since the drop in marriage rate and monogamous relationships. If women cannot get monogamy or commitment, they start to pursue the next best thing; money. Women are no longer able to attach to a man and his finances like in the past. With inflation etc, many women have realized being a single independent woman is not easy and freeing like they were told. Ironically, men actually benefit the most from this situation. We no longer have to marry women to just have sex. We don’t even need marriage for children anymore. Women now put you on the top of their dating list if you provide money. But it is not all roses.. 30% of men under 30 yo are still virgins. I believe part of the problem is that these men simply do not understand how important money is to women. They think it’s all looks and game. Women will literally over look anything as long as you have good hygiene and generous pockets. Women now only talk to the top 60% of men and the undesirables are left behind. In the past, these men would have been in arranged marriages or chosen by women out of survival or simply lack of available men. With regard to future technology, I believe we will come to a point where sugar relationships will not only become accepted but will become the norm influenced by technology/social media. With inflation and economic problems lurking, money will become more important than ever. Ai sexbots will benefit those virgin men but it will bleed over into the average man as well.

As a futurist I think we're still some way off yet from having the perfect robotic companion.

We currently have pretty realistic looking sex dolls but their capabilities are somewhat limited.

In the far future I hope we're able to design sophisticated sex robots and truly immersive VR porn.

I think these new tech options will appeal much more to men than to women, because they don't look for the same thing in partners.

I think a lot of men can have a huge part of their sexual and relationship needs met by the upcoming wave of sex robots and AI.

I don't think women will enjoy them nearly as much because they won't offer her any increase in social status, it can't act as a +1 in social gatherings, it can't make her friends jealous because all of her friends can just buy the same one too.

I also think that men and women will have a different ability to look past the knowledge that their robot companion is just faking/simulating/feels nothing. I'd wager that men can look past this/tolerate this and still derive satisfaction from them more easily than women.

I also think there will be many feminist initiatives to try and ban sex robots and artificial wombs by making unfounded baseless claims that they increase misogyny.

I don't think the desire for real human connection can ever be replaced by any technology that isn't 100% immersive. But, it can definitely be enough of a distraction/consolation for many men to avoid putting in the work of actually going out there pursuing real life women.

Think of it as a simple input output calculation, the effort required to access the listed technologies will always be very low, and the reward they provide will only increase over time. On top of that, many men perceive that women's standards are increasing over time, (whether or not that is true doesn't matter, only perception goes into the mental calculation), so the effort to get sex or relationships from real women will increase and the reward from replacement technologies will increase.
