Privileges and advantages are concepts that strike a lot of angst, particularly amongst the people who do not want to be confronted with the reality (privileged or not so privileged) of their situation.

Alas, privileges aren't one size fits all. There are myriad axes that individuals can benefit from or not.

In the manosphere, "Black Pillers" consider themselves realists who want to make explicit the fact that there are haves and have-nots in the heterosexual male dating game.

They are not wrong!

In fact, I created a quick and completely arbitrary Masculine Advantage Attractiveness Calculator here. There are 7 attributes to tick off.

Depending on how many points a man scores, I've personally decided whether or not he was born with the raw goods of one of the following:

  • Chad (Score of 7)
  • Chad Lite (Score of 8 to 11)
  • Average Joe (Score of 11ish to 16)
  • Black Pilled Bro (Score of ~16+)

To those in that ~16+ range, you are totes validated in feeling the dating blues. The odds are stacked!

That said, manospherians have to know that "privileges" and "advantages" exist outside of this sphere? I can't help but roll my eyes at a woe-is-me "Average Joe," who by all other metrics, is privileged as fook.

In fact! I remixed and iterated on one of those "wheels of privilege" floating around the Tumblrnet to create this arbitrary Societal Advantages Calculator here. As of now, I've added in 28 attributes to tick off.

Depending on how many points you score, I've personally decided whether or not you were born into one of the following categories:

  • Most Advantaged (Score of 28 to ~41)
  • Somewhat Advantaged (Score of ~42 to ~55)
  • Not So Advantaged (Score of ~56 to ~69)
  • Least Advantaged (Score of ~70+)

For example, I'm a Black American woman who grew up in a trap-adjacent urban environment who finds both men and women attractive but still managed to land in the "Somewhat Advantaged" category with a score of 45ish. Omg! I beat the stereotypes ::shocked Pikachu.gif::

And shout out to the folks in the "Least Advantaged" category killing the game -- Gods amongst mortals, amen!

Let's have some fun! But also, let's question some of our biases and solipsism.

Did this thought experiment prompt any things you'd like to share with the class? Please do!

Happy Sunday and post-Thanksgiving loves!
