I think red pill has always been about hard truths. The biggest "hard truth" is to what degree do ancient mating behaviours continue to govern human dating/sex in the modern day. This includes the "life is unfair for men" angle, but it's not that life is unfair, it's that life is what it is.

Look, I am no spokesman, but it feels that the prescriptive aspects of the movement are just second derivatives. Red pill is essentially the understanding that there's a significant difference between what attracts women sexually and what society and women claim attracts them.

Women are attracted to looks, confidence, charisma, assertiveness and competence. Roughly in that order (although there are variations).

This opposes two "mainstream" ideas that have been drilled for way too long:

1- You will have dating success if you treat women good: Being good, being kind, being attentive, putting her first, being respectful, being a good person, being a good friend, all those don't generate attraction. They are great for when a woman's already attracted to you, and they are important to build a relationship, but they are completely worthless if you aren't attractive first. Incidentally, this also debunks the "women are attracted to assholes" kneejerk.

2- Attraction is mysterious and unfathomable: This is a convenient lie. "The spark", "Chemistry", "Soulmate". This also includes the "just be yourself, you'll find your person". The notion that there's nothing a man can do to influence how attractive he is to women. That "the spark" isn't something controllable.

Now, the way that opposition looks will vary, and so will the degree of success. Personally I am not keen on "elaborate derivatives". "Nexting" and "I am the prize" are just convenient frameworks to convey more confidence and assertiveness. "Amuse and amplify" is mostly a way to work on charisma, assertiveness and confidence. But those are just... semi-useful ways to develop or showcase attractive traits.

They... "work", in the proportion they align and convey the traits properly. Done poorly, they are as bad as conventional advice. And they all have pitfalls.

But I'm digressing. Red pill is the understanding that women have as shallow attraction as men do, that unlike men it's based also on confidence, charisma, assertiveness and competence (on top of looks, which is shared) and that they act on that attraction as stupidly as men do.

It's loathed for two core reasons.

One, it shatters the idea of women being pure beings of light that are attracted by virtue. It showcases that they are as shallow as men, and that's not a good look.

Two, it shows that you can modify your behavior to signal more attractive traits than the ones you naturally have. And that makes selecting by those traits less convenient for women. Naturally, a man's confidence grows with his successes and the preselection of other women. If men learn to behave in a way that mimics that, then selecting by that trait stops being assurance of success.

It's like feminism. There are lots of different people with different ideas that call themselves feminists. You cannot even say that feminists are about equality, becuase what equality means and for whom is also not agreed upon.

Red pill is realizing that there is more to human mating than what you will likely believe about mating, when you grow up in western mainstream societies. It's mainly discovering that humans are animals with an evolutionary past that shaped them and that this is still influencing what we do and what we are drawn to today. How to best understand and navigate the current mating situation, with all the available knowledge at hand, for whatever goals one might have, that is red pill for me.

It's like the old nature vs nurture debate. Our current societal mainstream is heavily drawn to social constructivism, blank slate thinking and the "nurture" side of everything being the only or dominant one. Red pill is realizing that is not the case and everything is nurture AND nature. In case of our drives for sexual reproduction, mating, and everything that is very core to evolutionary fitness, this is even very much so the case.

Red pill is about gathering, understanding, sharing information with regards to this "nature" side of human mating, because that is what mainstream western societies reject or neglect the most, while it is actually the most important. Red pill does not reject the nurture side of things or cultural impacts and how society shapes everythign we do. It tires to integrates both, nature and nurture, to the degrees that they impact human mating. But in this correcting process (coming from nurture-backgrounds), the goal of hitting the truth is often overshot and peopel go too far to the "nature"-explanation side, losing people from both centrist and nurture-heavy points of the spectrum.

Red pill isn't needed at all in a universe where everyone is scientifically literate and has lots of time on their hands. We could all just read mating science and learn more than red pill or blue pill could ever come to understand about mating themselves. But as science is difficult to understand, time consuming, hard to get access to, and doesn't really translate to easy "do X in situation Y", when a guy is out in the club, red pill still has a place.

Red pill is mating science for bros. Like we have gym science for bros. It's dumbed down, lots of anecdotes mixed in, "do what the biggest guy does", "one approach fits all", easy rules of thumb, etc.

Of course, red pill will be wrong about lots of things, just like gym bros don't hold a chance against evidence based science fitness people. But it's accessible and easy to understand for a demographic that can't do/read/understand fitness science.

The largest problem i see for red pill is the lack of nuance, the infiltration by political ideology and the grifting of charlatans who make money off of exploiting frustrated men by telling them anything and claim it's "red pill". Also, the lack of updating outdated mating information. Red pill is not holy scripture. All of the initial "prophets" have been proven wrong. But sadly, people treat it like that. Like a revelation that does not need to be looked at again, when contradicting evidence comes up.

Depending on where people get their infos from: the science-y side of red pill, or the grifter side of red pill, or the political ideology side of red pill, the statements and views will be very different.

For the other rescourses you still have the old posts on theredpill subreddit, which are still gold knowledge to follow from. But other than that the redpill subreddit is mostly ruined, back in the day only men who got pussy was providing more knowledge to redpill, however now that only 20% of men are getting playtime the rest of 80% who dont get pussy try to provide knowledge, and those men are emotional and not masculine, the posts look like the men are whining rather than provide information and the old redpill guys stopped posting, so yeah. The best places to learn redpill is still the old posts and rational male

I use TRP as a "golden standard" and "old guard" as benchmarks. New people are often not a "new redpill", they don't know wtf they're talking about and you're just buying their BS.

This makes if difficult to debate with, because it now feels like ANYTHING is considered RP if the person identifies as RP.

And "a woman is a person that identifies as a woman"? No? Good, same with redpill.

It basically just says women are mostly sexually attracted not to a guy being nice, helpful, virtuous, and feminist, but instead to a guy being assertive, flirtatious, edgy, and macho, in combination with having looks/money/status, in line with evolutionary trends.

But now the red pill subreddit is gone I guess and the dudes who call themselves Red Pill are saying the OPPOSITE of what Red Pill used to say- now it’s “women should approach!” and “Men love more than women!” and “Men want a conservative virgin, sluts are only for sex!”

That is the result of a difficulty hike. I was there for early 2010a PUA. Back then game could get any non-hideous guy laid like a Chad with cute women. So there was no real drama or angst, you just went out and did the work and got to live a peak life.

Post-dating apps however you're not just competing for the "easy" women with whatever desperate oblivious average-looking schmucks are at the club/bar that night, who you could easily out-game, you're competing sculpted specimens of masculinity who are one chatlog away. It is much harder to stand out and get any results. On top of this women are far more socially guarded now than in the past.

So we now have a situation where dudes are having to change their whole personalities (often from how society conditioned them to act, at that) and schedules just to get mid unfeminine women who probably put out way easier for a hotter guy. It's making the juice not look worth the squeeze and that leads to dudes just complaining about how the system's so stacked against them to begin with, and not actually advancing through it.

A man will put days of his life straight into a video game where a decent reward is guaranteed, but potentially 0 seconds of work into endeavors where either the odds of success and/or return on investment appear unsatisfactory.

When you remove personal opinions and biases from the equation, that's the gist of it. The term literally comes from the Matrix, where Neo has the choice between living in blissful ignorance or accepting uncomfortable truths. Some people prefer sweet lies over bitter truths. And it's not hard to understand why. Accepting an uncomfortable reality doesn't mean you can do anything about it, and it's often more likely to make you more depressed than prior to knowing about it. Like a kid finding out that animals had to die for his burgers. Said kid may make changes on an individual level and even become a vegan but it not like he can stop factory farming. The realization simply made him aware of what was going on. He took the Red Pill. How he responds to the uncomfortable knowledge is up the individuals.

The red pill wasn’t meant to be mainstream or for normies. Like with everything once it becomes mainstream it gets watered down and mixed with a bunch of random shit that doesn’t truly work, and tbh there are multiple red pills for different topics other than women, and some you should honestly take before you ever go into other topics because it makes taking any red pill much easier for you. Anyway All the red pill is, is the idea that society has kind of manufactured to some varying degree and by taking it, you have woken up to the harsh reality of it. That’s it. Once you wake up, How you maneuver the simulation depends on you.

So in the case of women this just means waking up to their nature. The original way of looking at it was just having a series of realizations about women, about they are wired by biology to be predisposed to liking certain things regardless of what they say, about the effect status has on them, about how wealth works with them, about in group conflict within women, the 80/20 rule, it’s shit like the Tinder experiments where men pretend to be like a real good looking rapist or pedophile and they will end up having more success than normal everyday men, it’s about dating pertaining to race and how race can mess with you or work in your favor depending on the race you are. Etc. it’s just a series of realizations.

The stuff you are referring to like “I am the prize” or “plates” aren’t really part of the red pill in that those aren’t realizations about women, but more how to react to women in order to deal with them. the truth is if you don’t learn how to properly think for yourself 1st, then a lot of this shit might actually end up hurting you. Hence why this isn’t supposed to be mainstream or for normies. Most people are gonna end up shooting themselves in the foot with this stuff.

Unless you were there when it was first made on random forums or on places like 4chan and shit, odds are you won’t ever truly see the real red pill as it pertains to women
