The thing is why? If you look at his jokes on paper they're kind of funny and he has a lot of original material. In my eyes his execution is just terrible and out of date, which may be why a lot of people find it hard to see his appeal, but back in his prime he was really popular.
Burr has way better execution but likes taking long ass vacations and learning random hobbies on the side. Seinfeld was a show runner for 180 episodes back to back on a hit show, which is a shit load of work. Burr got his own animated show on netflix recently and talks about wanting to pass out every night just from being in the writers room.

Dude the worst is goddamn modeling. I'm a guy and model sometimes and get paid less than the girls all the time unless I'm clearly a better talent. There's also tons more jobs for women in the market so you can pretty much get a career out of it but every male model I know personally pretty much does it as a hobby. Idk how he's received here but Christopher Hitchens was incredibly intelligent and his arguments were always very well articulated and backed up with facts. For reference I just did a mister world kind of competition. Now the winner of the males get 12k the females 30k. So nearly 3x.
And for a more direct comparison. Our competition is one of the biggest for males but like the 5tb biggest for females. Winning ours would be like winning Miss universe. So really it's like 12k vs I don't even know, how much probably hundreds of thousands, lifelong fame, a brand new New York apartment for the year and ok and on.

I didn't have a problem with her show my life on the d list until i watched it. I get it you are not very funny or famous but the smirk just kills it. He just released a Netflix sitcom. He releases a Netflix special every year or every other year and tours at least once a year for sure. He does very non political comedy that can be viewed by the entire world regardless of their political beliefs.
Meanwhile kathy Griffin turns off a decent amount of viewers with her political beliefs. Her comedy is regurgitated bullshit that starts to sound like victim Olympics. Tina Fey isn't hurting for money by any means. She has like 3 TV shows. The difference between her and Seinfeld is literally just when they started their careers and how they distributed their media. I've never understood why women complain about their inability to compete with men in some arenas.

You misunderstood, I meant that it doesn't matter how good you are at your craft, just that you can attract money.
Mitch was "better" imo and I enjoyed his humor more, but I (and the industry) recognized that he was much more niche and wasn't worth investing in him.
Like, someone selling out a show is also as much about marketing and advertising as popularity or skill.
OBVIOUSLY Hart is also a good comedian, great even. I've enjoyed some of his bits too.
But he was promoted and lifted up too. It's one of those things that can only happen to a select few people at any time, and he had the skill to get the opportunity to get the big bucks. But it could have been someone else.

Kevin Hart is in multiple movies, with The Rock, and sells out a stadium for his video recording shows.
Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld are legends to the point that - before Dave started doing shows again - they were bith household names to the generation after them - in other god damn countries.
Fluffy is all over Netflix; whether his specials or his teacher sitcom thing.
I'm not really familiar with the others.
Who is meant to compete though? Sarah Silverman, whose punchline is "poop" - or Amy Schumer, who jokes about her pussy smelling like barn animals; whose stand-up was so widely hated Netflix changed their rating system, and whose movies have failed.

What boggles my mind is that they haven’t pivoted to a new argument that might actually hold a little more water, or at least be less easy to disprove. Instead of just claiming that sexism is why they aren’t paid more they could make the claim more similar to: unfortunately for women to have a mass audience they must be somewhat conventionally attractive. Just look at Susan Boyle versus Post Malone for example, Susan is EXTREMELY talented but not the kind of person you can imagine being a star in music because she’s just not very pretty, much of her story was about how she just needed better “marketing” ie look better. With Post Malone, is anyone really gonna make the case he’s a sexy dude? But it doesn’t matter for him, it’s not expected for men to be attractive only for them to be talented. Furthermore there are many women in music that are marginally talented but very attractive, one could argue that’s the only reason they are famous.
Not saying I buy this argument completely but it’s at least better than “I sell less tickets at lower prices that men do because the patriarchy controls ticket sales”.

I don't really get the comparison when you're talking about famous people and millions of dollars. Their income is the result of heavy negotiation and marketing, unlike the 99% of us who are basing our salary request on others in our field and average salary for that position. (And sometimes not even up to negotiation).

Genuinely funny women:
Myrna Loy, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Madeline Khan, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Saunders.
There are others who have made me laugh but those are the only ones I can think of who really had/have IT, that spark that betrays the comedy deep in their veins, not just mouthing some lines they were handed.
I want to say maybe Gilda Radner too? But I honestly don’t remember enough of her work to be sure. If she could entertain Gene Wilder though, she must have had it.

Women can be very funny. More men tend to be comedians because of the atmosphere. Not saying sexism. Which no one doesn’t deny there isn’t. I am talking about how much of a straight up savage you have to be to run that grind starting out.
There are so many less women that would put up with that lifestyle for long. Sleeping in cars. Flying around. No knowing where the next meal or bed is coming from.
Then sleeping in the comedian condos that clubs own. Sometimes with randos you have never met before. It’s just not the best for most women. And the few absolute savages make it.
