Engineers I think are a stellar target for the washed up post wall women. I'd assume it's just as likely to extend to Programers and Developers as well.

1 Engineers keep track of the details.

Which means spontaneity isn’t so much their thing (maybe it’s yours!), but the details of your life, your finances, your travel plans, and your children’s education are precise, perfect, leaving no room for error.

They aren't exciting, but they will look after you while you go off and do whatever you want.

2 They’re logical.

Which means they don’t always act on their emotions . . . if they ask you to marry them, they see you as the very best option for their life. No qualms on committing.

He's the safe bet, no more getting burnt by Alpha males, this guy isn't going anywhere.

3 And they’re definitely not lazy.

To get their engineering degree, they had to wade through countless calculus and physics classes. And usually: They loved it, eating those numbers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But because they gave their all through those grinding university years, they know to give it all to your marriage, your family, and their career.

They are good at giving you shit.

4 They can build things. Read: Your DIY Dreams fulfilled, your broken house fixed.

Hefty DIY projects require some serious handyman-or-woman skills–which your engineer assuredly has, tucked up their sleeves.

They are good at making you shit.

5 They don’t make rash decisions. A sudden decision to quit their job, to abandon your family for greener pastures, or to pursue a life-long dream without researching and excel-sheeting it first? Yeah: That’s not happening. They’re programmed to think earnestly about their life and their relationship to you. They will not readily make your life chaotic or hurt you.

Even though they are your book keeper, house keeper, personal handyman and bank account, they aren't going to leave you when you suddenly find yourself not wanting to sleep with them.

6 They don’t run away from a problem.

As natural-born problem solvers, engineers view every marital disagreement from all angles—yes, even yours, as if they were working through a glitch at work. Their engineering logic helps them draw the appropriate, almost mathematical solution—whilst tying up loose ends.

He will put your interests in-front of his own.

7 They love how easily they can be themselves around you.

Assuredly, your engineer grew up a little awkward–afraid to talk to members of the opposite sex or look up from their graph paper. But when they found you, they knew they couldn’t let you go: That you were the one person in the world who could understand them, who was worth the mindless dating-rules. The one person they could form a life with. And they love you more than you could possibly know.

Saving the best for last. This article essentially is saying that engineers are losers and that your washed up 6/10 figure is the best thing he's ever had!

If you're an engineer then women already have their beta-scope on you. It goes without saying it's a terrible idea to be the guy they're describing in this article. Makes me want to write a "7 reasons to marry a women working in child care / catering"

EDIT: Being an Engineer doesn't make you a beta, but a lot of beta's happen to be engineers. If you have knowledge of TRP there's no good reason to be a beta, but yea women will probably assume you are one once they hear you're an engineer.
