Many years ago I had a girlfriend who was deeply in love with a friend of mine — a guy who looked like Brad Pitt. He had pity fucked her once or twice before she and I got together, and that was all it took to ruin her FOREVER.

I must admit that I have dated a couple of women that were so f***ing drop dead gorgeous that when things ended even well above average women didn't impress me. It's like driving a Ferrari for a year and then being given a Mustang. The Mustang is nice, it will get you where you need to go and is also fast...but it's not a Ferrari. I think it's human nature to experience something or get accustomed to something and subconsciously feel we deserve that 24/7. The issue comes when a person that has driven a Ferrari thinks they deserve to drive a Ferrari all the time and won't settle for a Mustang.

This post is a prime example of a woman who has such a skewed vision of herself she is going to push all Mustangs and Corvettes away hoping a Ferrari picks her again. In 5 years she'll be posting to Reddit crying because only 1972 AMC Pacers want her; and even they don't want a commitment.

This is what's happening with my ex and if she's any indication of anything then there's no hope. We were both each other's firsts for pretty much everything, been together for a good couple of years and starting dating when were just old enough to know what we were doing and had little to no problems when we were in the relationship

By all counts we should still be together to this date but we broke up 2 years ago because she wanted kids and I didn't. The MGTOW sub was the final push I needed to break up with her and without a shadow of a doubt if it wasn't for that sub, I'd probably be engaged or married and most likely have my own place all by the age of 20 and that is fucking scary to think about it.

Since our breakup, she's texted me a few times despite her already having a boyfriend and now they've broken up and a month back she saw me when I was out and literally started chasing me. She's also gained weight, got a bunch of tattoos and she looks about 30. To say I dodged a bullet is an understatement but a part of me does wonder whether that is all because we broke up and it's just been downhill for her from there.

This phenomenon seems like an addiction to me. They get that high from being with a guy that's movie-perfect. That feeling of "I made it in life". Doesn't matter if they're even compatible, just matters what it felt like at some point. Then they keep chasing that first high forever like a drug addict, and their total lack of knowledge about brain chemistry doesn't help

In my opinion you have to take chemistry with the biggest grain of salt. Amazing chemistry may feel intoxicating but it doesn't really mean anything (or not necessarily anything good). Sometimes it just means "that guy has a really high charisma stat", or "I respond well to his social status / the imaginary dream of a life I think he offers me"

In the end, you only need a little spark when you've got the right materials and enough fuel for the fire to burn for a long time
