Tried to game a girl in your class or some other consistent social setting? Decent chance she doesn't want to go out with you because she feels like she already has a ton of options due to dating apps. The number of male virgins under 30 has gone up from 8% in 2008 to 27% in 2018. It's probably even higher today too.

Lots more competition and not enough effort being put in by men to compete is the biggest factor. The top 25% of men are getting 75% of the dateable women with the next 50% fighting over the final 25% of those women and the final 25% getting nothing (as evidenced by the study).

Social media, inflation, and very expensive venues specifically catering to the ‘flashy guy’ persona. Bottle service was 1000 bucks in the early 2000s in Hollywood got a couch, security, a few bottles. Did the same thing this weekend in Vegas because Lovers and Friends got cancelled. 10k for an identical experience. Club game is crazy different you’re now competing with dudes dropping money that was previously a drug dealer thing.

The ego of women has been ballooning ever since OLD was created. The fact that most guys are horn dogs and accept low quality women is further fucking up our chances of finding decent women because they think "I have guys drooling at the sight of my unshaved ape legs, why should I put more effort ?".

2005 Scenery:

no Uber. Had to rely own transportation or friends, as taxis were too expensive.
Facebook was mainly unheard of.
No only fans.
Redbox (convenient dvd rentals) wasn't popular
Average Girls weren't half naked, comfortably walking around town.
Myspace was popular
Craigslist personals and affairs was free and highly active.
women had to put in a lot of effort to put themselves out there.
Believe it or not, most women didn't want to show their faces on places like myspace.
Pick up was mainly underground, and hidden from mainstream.
Most average men didn't approach average women.
Clubs were free before 11, and women went out solo, or a pair, rarely packs of women in a club.

The way game worked back then was much different.

Club game/day game:

Approach, get her number, call/text her the next day. She was likely to be down to come over bc she wanted to get out the house. And she went out to the club to meet someone. And very few men actually had enough game to even approach or talk to her, let alone get her phone number.

Online game:

Send one mass message to as many girls as possible. You did this to avoid wasting time typing out one single, custom message only to be left on "read". The goal was to target as many girls as possible to find those who were really interested in you/your conversation. Eventually, you would go for the number. She would give you the number. You would talk on the phone. She would come over.

Not as much has changed as one may think. People have always been the same (both males and females), the difference is promiscuity used to be performed with discretion because it was considered degenerate behavior; now it's all out in the open and it's "liberating" and something to be proud of, since over the course of this timeframe the internet has made bad things good and good things bad.

The style of online interactions changed, and also how heavily one can rely on it. Getting a girl's number has always been gold but back in the day I would ask a girl for her email (I would use MSN messenger) as having a texting plan was expensive for a high schooler. I have even read old books that guys would ask for a girl's beeper. How heavily one uses the internet to date has changed. Yes, I would add random girls on Facebook and at times get a date. But, the amount of dating apps and how heavily people do use them have increased through the years. Therefore, having an Instagram with good pics and interesting background has become key. Initial face to face interactions have decreased and even when they happen, one of the two parties will search for the other online.

I am gonna go to a bar and ask a girl for her beeper. I bet that would work.

The book is a good read. Especially if you're someone who had no idea what game is, or has never had a girl interested in giving them the kitty. However, today.. with the advent of social media, the big city is in your phone.. But, since they get a lot of attention 🤷🏽‍♂️.. It was easy then, and it's still easy.. Just take your "no's " on your chin.. until you change up enough to get more yeses than no's. And remember.. you're always someone's type..

I had to adapt my use of dating websites to be used for dating apps. Other than that, nothing at all changed for me.

I still recommend a 24 year old book for beginners. The game has changed that little.

Hasn't changed much, I remember someone saying that game is still relevant today, our ancestors bred and that's why we are here today, the core principles of pick up are the same. However many women are married and have kids, less women off the market as they age. But like sports there will always be a supply of new talent coming up, younger girls that are unmarried and ready to be seduced. With advancements in modern technology and things like AI and industry 4.0, there are a ton of good jobs available, and women want money more than ever because there is so much cool stuff to buy. If you own a company women are looking for a job or to get married, casual sex is harder to get these days, but there will always be guys getting laid, times have changed, people use different words and slang, so you have to update with the times, but the core principles of seduction have and will always be the same, women are attracted to the same thing they were 20 years ago, good looks and muscles, money and success, athleticism, pre selection, social status etc

It hasn't changed much really. A bit easier than it was because of social media you barely have to leave but I've advise against just doing that solely.

Even then it was easy. I've still yet to take anyone on a date unless they've become LTR.

The only reason I say it's easier is because I'm non monogamous and I didn't think it would sell as easily back then. I also never tried.

Never tried and "pickup" bs either just being myself insecurities and all.

The fundamentals are still the same and will remain the same for a long period of time. Regardless of what year it is, few things will be the same. For example, a person who was born as a male still borns with a d*ck and a female born with a vag. Poo still comes out of the anal and it is highly unlikely it will come out of the mouth in 2069. But society has changed, social interactions are different. The key is to use those fundamentals in a way that fits in the current social atmosphere. And this is not really that easy. Some can successfully align with the current situation while others fail.
