Examples from my own life:

  1. My ex always used to tell me that one of my male friends was only speaking to me because he wanted sex.

  2. Another one of my guy friends said that he would be scared to have a daughter.

  3. A guy I met in the salon said that men are trash, and that he worries about his younger sister.

Those of you in relationships, here’s an experiment you can try: tell your partner that you’re going to spend the weekend with a male friend and see how he reacts. I’m willing to bet my 401k that he won’t be happy.

Men don’t even trust each other, yet when women are cautious and sceptical, we get called misandrist and told not to generalise. The gaslighting is off the charts. Men know they are dangerous and violent, but when women acknowledge that and come up with ways to protect ourselves (because let’s face it, most men aren’t interested in protecting us), we are called hateful. Don’t let society gaslight you into thinking men are harmless. You are more likely to be raped, attacked and murdered by a man you know than by a stranger. Use that healthy skepticism and vet the men in your life ruthlessly.
