Hard to find anything on the other one... oviously the councils don't admit discrimination. The above article says "in 2011 the housing charity Crisis found that 84% of the hidden homeless were male. And the latest CHAIN figures suggest that 9 out of 10 people sleeping rough are male." Anecdotally I know it's true that if a young man and a young woman turn up at the council on a friday night and ask for help, it will automatically be assumed the woman is 'at risk' and she'll be given preference..

This tweaked something in me.

So you are a man who owns a car and is paying insurance. Suddenly you decide you are a woman and VIOLA, you are paying less for insurance. This actually makes no sense whatsoever, you didn't change your driving habits, you didn't suddenly get less tickets, get in less accidents. HMMMMM. I wonder if I could 'identify' as a woman for insurance purposes, iow "I am a man BUT when I drive I am a woman". AND does it work the other way around fo r health insurance do you suddenly pay more in areas where this is a thing.

I'm beginning to think that all this transgender / anti-transphobic movement is actually good for Men's rights. If it became easy to change sex legally then it would mean that government, NGO charities and businesses couldn't discriminate based on gender because everyone would be a woman. It would be better if they implement a Racheal Dolezal law that allowed people to legally change their race too.

I want y'all to do a Google search for Carlisle, Ohio. There will be a news article (or multiple) of a 19 year old woman that buried her baby in her backyard. Watch her sentence. There is no equality.

To be fair, I doubt that identifying as a woman would help you in criminal sentencing. The only reason that particular privilege exists is because judges/juries feel more sympathy for women, and because women are often mothers (which people tend to stereotypically think are more necessary for children's well-being than fathers). [EDIT: Not saying motherhood justifies it. Hell, no. Not at all. I suspect that was the reason for the downvote.]

Even if you start identifying as a women or even legally change your sex, judges and juries are probably going to know that you are biologically male and treat you accordingly. If anything, identifying as trans might even make things worse as many still see it as akin to a sexually deviant psychological disorder (especially for biological men, of course).

I had someone on reddit (on a default, IIRC) accuse /r/MensRights/ of being a circle-jerk / echo chamber, and then in the same exchange tell me to go back there!! I mean, if you won't tolerate people talking about gender issues that affect men in the wider world, is it any surprise that we tend to congregate here? It's like accusing someone of being friendless whilst also telling them to take their ball and go home.

I really think you should need a formal diagnosis of gender dysphoria disorder from a qualified psychiatrist before you're allowed to change your gender on your birth cert. Otherwise the system will be abused and trans issues won't be taken seriously.
