While I believe some people genuinely prefer face to face talking even those people send quick texts every now and then to communicate times/confirmation of meetings/etc. I would simply move on because this guy is already a waste of time. It takes 2 seconds to type "I'll be out of town." or "Hey can we talk over the phone instead?" Next.

I was trying to make plans with him and he kept saying shit like "Don't wait up on me." I had given him a gift of his favorite candles and he stated for me to "stop buying him things." He then traveled away for a week on "job interviews" and wouldn't respond to my texts/call/etc. After I confronted him about his lack of contact, he finally called me and then said he wanted a break because he was "so busy' and had a lot going on. I found pictures of him on social media with him and the girl he'd …

The fact that he says "spiritually married" says a lot about him.

Its low effort and thats why its upsetting you. On context, it seems like a re run on his part and he's not putting in effort to make you feel special. I'd say thats why you are upset. It reeks of laziness and unoriginal so you have the right to be upset. The question is upon realizing this would be cancel the trip and plan something else for you? This is one of those things where if it bothers you, it bothers you. I take my current boyfriend to my favorite korean place I also took my ex too- in…

More than likely no. I'm in an interracial relationship and part of me also feels weird taking my boyfriends last name when we get married? I also just like my last name.

I'm a nursing student and also a nurse tech/patient care tech and when I still worked in the hospital my unit had some awesome male nurses- but 100% of them, literally all of them whenever they had to do something more intimate with a female patient (placing purewicks, changing/cleaning) they would always always have a female nurse tech or another female nurse in there with them. Not only did it also make female patients way more comfortable but its also a buffer in case something happens. Patie…

Dunno why you’re being downvoted but Ithink you’re right. If you don’t have romantic feelings anymore and can be friends it’s fine. It’s rare this happens- I’m only friends with my ex from highschool but she and I morphed into totally different people and we’re basically best friends.

This is so true. Ofc there's the "fantasy" they have of 'hot older women' when they're at a certain age but they grow out of it. If a woman dates a man younger than her we're labeled gross. Such a double standard.

I'm biracial - part black and part white and I've dated outside my race plenty of times and I have to agree its more so looking at the culture differences and vetting. I don't think race has any significant factor on a man - men can be NV from any race or culture. You need to vet properly. Some men do have fetishizations and I've seen it from men from many different races and cultures that I've dated. My longterm boyfriend is Asian and I asked him a lot questions to determine if he did this or n…

^^ This girl is right. Source: I'm in the Air Force. I see the other side of it as well and get to be in the 'good ole boys club' conversations. This statement is pretty much accurate of military men in general: They're there for a good time, not a long time. I don't date men in the military. My longterm boyfriend has never been in the military and never plans on joining either. I'm keeping it that way.

This! I've got a half sleeve and quite a bit on my back too and the ones that have hand/neck or chest tattoos that I've dated tend to have quite unsavory characteristics.

Yup when I used it, it was the same. Most dudes would just like a photo of yours and then you're supposed to answer that. How??? Or half the time they'd invite you to start the conversation. Usually I'd just turn it back around on them. Hinge literally never got me anywhere.

I met my SO on OkCupid- and I've used Tinder before with off/on success but generally less success than crazies. I feel like which dating apps are good are dependent on your area. OkCupid was actually the best for the area where I lived but you're right about it being a whole damn job.

A lot of men do something called "monkey branching" where they are essentially talking to someone else/even dating them while still in a relationship and are waiting to cut ties with their current relationship before moving on. My ex did something similar to yours- claimed he was "too busy in his life" and he needed a break. He was already talking to his now wife (they got married recently I learned) before he even broke up with me. Your feelings are valid and its totally fine to feel that way. …

You're definitely correct. His actions show you aren't a priority and honestly I would also consider it a mistake to give him another chance. Tell him you have different priorities, wish him the best and block and delete. There's no need to waste time on someone that isn't willing to prioritize seeing you.

I agree with you. I literally think after how the media painted her throughout the years as a person with her personal life etc she literally just got fed up and was having a big fuck you moment because she was just done with the media, everything and then she gets placed under the conservatorship to keep her quiet. I've had a lot of empathy for her for awhile now and I hope she speaks up about everything she's been put through.

I would definitely like a ring but for moral and ethical reasons, I absolutely will not get a diamond under any circumstances and want to get a moissanite instead and I generally like classic styles- solitaire especially as I'm not big on anything being too gaudy. As for proposals, I do want some effort and both my boyfriend and I are outdoorsy people and we do a lot of hiking, biking, etc and traveling so I think if he put effort while on one of our trips together I would definitely want that. …

I agree with you. I don't think its too soon and its likely a discussion they need to have. You shouldn't have to settle at all OP. You should know these things and find out now vs wasting time on someone who doesn't have the same priorities as you.

^ This is also how I answer too. I personally love baking and I am a foodie and I am not a huge fan of cooking and I always date men who enjoy cooking as its something I personally find attractive. Its also bonus when you don't have to.

I hate it too. I used to get that too and I would just respond "You have two hands. Cook for yourself." and then you get the "But its not youuurrsss." Trying to be all cute when it isn't. I would just usually ignore them after that. Thats the nice thing about being on FDS I finally learned to not care to carry a conversation if they weren't even putting effort so radio silences were always great.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/21 04:51 PM
52

^ This. Block, move on and find other men to talk to. They aren't into you. If someone is into you, they will ask you out on a proper date. When I dated if I wasn't asked out within one to two weeks I moved on.
/r/askFDS29/03/21 12:37 PM

^ This is spot on. You think of your ex less and less as time goes on. I know I still thought about my most recent one for awhile after we broke up but time does heal a lot of wounds. When its right after the breakup and more recent, its definitely harder. Eventually you'll get to the point where they won't cross your mind or if you happen on them again you'll feel repulsed or even nothing at all. You'll get there. Don't beat yourself up over it though. Delete every reminder and go do something …

Its been a mixed bag for me. I've had sex with men with smaller dicks that were awful because they really didn't even try and I've had sex with guys with bigger dicks that were better than most. Honestly I think its more so men that have the desire to actually want to get you off and know how to please you or will at least learn vs the ones that just want to use you to jack off essentially. Bigger dicks definitely are uncomfortable for sex but I think the effort speaks more to the dudes part.

Honestly, don't be hard on yourself because being single is amazing. I spent the latter part of my late 20s single and it was some of the best times of my life. I'm echoing this. I am sorry your time was horrific for you. My time in the Air Force has not been like this either. Granted I am in a reserve component and over half of my actual unit I work with is filled with women. We definitely need more women in the military so that it isn't like this. I've made amazing friends, have a lot of camaraderie and have set myself up in the midst of a career change to have an even more solid future for myself.

Yep sounds similar to my ex too. Paid for stuff, took me out, called me his gf then on the DL was on dating apps and texting other women but claimed it was all in the guise of "open relationship. This is something I'm experiencing with my current partner which has been different from all my previous relationships. Its definitely been a slow burn for me with them- I haven't had anxiety or butterflies that I'd normally feel either. I was going to echo this. I am older than my current partner. + or minus 5 years is my max, but I generally found men in their late 20s (I'm in my early 30s) have been just fine for me . Still be wary but at 35 I don't really think you have anything to worry about.

Seriously men are so callous. I had something similar happen with an ex of mine with basically a similar situation as yours- together for a year, I fell in love and then he went away for a week for job interviews and basically wouldn't call me, I got one word responses from texts and then finally got told he "needed a break". Weeks later he's in a relationship with someone else and has since bought a house with them too. FDS also taught me to vet ruthlessly and changed my outlook as well. I thin…

^ this. If a man is into you, he will text you back. You should have an even balance in your conversations via texting too. It shouldn't be heavily one sided either but a good exchange. They're either emotionally unavailable or not that into you.
/r/askFDS16/09/20 01:10 PM

It is. I met my partner off OLD and I admit its definitely a lot easier to meet men this way but you have to weed through a ton of BS to even find dudes I legitimately wanted to go out on a date with. I had far less dates when I implemented FDS wtih online dating but I had a lot more enjoyable and quality dates. There are decent men on OLD but its few and far inbetween. I should probably note I also didn't meet my partner on either bumble or tinder, lmao.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/09/20 08:09 PM
15

This exactly. Whenever I’ve brought it up in the past myself it never ended well. Dudes string you along until they get a better option. My current partner asked me and I never brought it up at all. With FDS the man is the one that should be initiating all of that and not you. He’s not that into you. Detach and start seeing other people.

You do deserve better and don't beat yourself up over it. I was the same with a previous ex and I stupidly kept reaching back out to him (Yes, literally begging him, yikes) and I to learned to block him everywhere and move on. The behavior is cringe but you know not to do it again and what's best for you. You aren't that same girl anymore. Hold your head up high girl and never look back. You're onto a new and better version of yourself <3

Sis posted a follow up. Apparently she showed the BF the reddit post, they got in a huge fight and he left to stay at his brothers. The scrote then proceeded to try and get laid while she was crying over him. She dumped his ass and when he refused to pay for his share of the rent he was threatened with small claims court and sent his share of the rent for their apartment. #KickHimOut2020

Who tf would lie about test driving a car? Like its literally such a little thing but men can make up some of the wildest shit to cover their tracks or even the littlest of shit to make it so believable. Its like my friend who was in a LTR and had the guy photoshop a fake work contract to show that he was moving to her country. She uncovered his lies and dumped his ass but literally they just have no fucking shame do they?

Also a mood. I look way better now in my early 30s than I did in my early 20s or even as a teenager. There was a video I watched of one of my favorite youtubers getting her hair done and the hair dresser told her a quote that will always stay with me because the girl was unsure about getting a vibrant hair color at her age (she's my age) and the hair dresser told her "You're still a blooming flower in your 30s. You don't reach your full fragrance until your 40s. You have many more years ahead of…

My partner is Taiwanese-American and does all the cooking and worked in a restaurant for years. It's quite glorious.

Reminds me of the time back when I got into online dating after my most recent breakup and the guy asked for pics and I didn't even respond and then he sent one without any prompting and my response was just "Ew" and he's just like "what I'm just naked in the bathroom...with a dick." Like, THE NERVE.

You're right. This is only talking about korean men when asian men can include all men in asia, including those from india and southeast asia. I'm pretty sure the everyday asian man doesn't look like a celebrity. This post only speaks a little of the truth and I agree they definitely do have better skincare routines but that's beyond it. Each culture has its own horrible aspects and not one type of culture with men is better than another.

Congratulations!!! Welcome to the sisterhood and you'll be so much happier! I was dumped by my LVM ex over a year ago and after implementing FDS I finally found a lot more happiness, self confidence and overall sense of self. You're allowed to have expectations in a partner and if not having a degree is a deal breaker for you, you're entitled to that deal breaker. Your expectations are your expectations. If its a deal breaker for you, its a deal breaker. Personally though, not having a degree isn't a deal breaker. I have a master's and I've met people without degrees that run successful businesses and are very ambitious and motivated. I've also met people with degrees that are very lazy and mooch off parents, family,…

Never lower your standards ever. Someone will meet and exceed them. My dad always told me this and boy was he right.

I found the carrying thing cute since my own partner does it but to add examples that /u/beautysubthroww tossed out that could help her destress: a full on massage, running a bath with candles and music, planning and cooking meals for the entire week for her, etc. I think doing the little things so that you don't even have to think about them and they're already done is definitely going above and beyond.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/08/20 02:53 PM

I would have somewhere comfortable to sit that isn't in the bedroom but not having a tv is not a bad thing. My current partner does not have a tv at all. There are more people these days that do not have televisions in their houses. I don't think its a weird or a turn off. In fact, not having a TV promotes conversation which I think a lot of people could do with more of in any type of relationship.
/r/askFDS24/08/20 11:03 PM
28

Yep, this is bare minimum. My partner will pick me up often and carry me elsewhere because he gets impatient (its cute though and I don't know, I find it fun to get piggy back rides, lol). This is someone basically doing things a partner should be doing and I don't see how this is high value.

I feel like we see this so often- woman protects herself and looks out for her own interests and the man doesn't like it because it doesn't benefit him. I'm glad she was able to get away and he showed his true colors. Yikes.

^^^. My partnerr did the exact same to me "You're interesting why don't we hang out more?" Never said anything about race, doesn't talk about it at all. I'm mixed and he's asian - never bothered either of us.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/06/20 04:13 PM

^^^ This. I made my current partner wait about 5 months. 3 months is a guideline, but I'd wait even longer if you can. Full investment for me means he's taking me out on dates (interesting ones too, this doesn't mean they have to be expensive. My partner took me rock climbing because I expressed interest in passing and he climbs himself and he's been teaching me), picnics, he bought me all the ingredients to bake my favorite dessert and I showed him how I make it, cooks me dinners, asks me how m…

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/06/20 02:00 AM

Yep I learned not to have sex until they show full investment in you. I avoided so many people doing this to me since implementing FDS. They will bounce or show their true colors before you ever have sex with them if you make them show commitment to you. I feel so sad for this girl.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/06/20 02:04 PM

I found it hilarious that a lot of the top comments men were responding "yeah when I help out a lot with household chores my wife/gf/partner loves it and we have great sex! They even say helping them out gives them more time for sex with me!" Not surprised that's all they think about. Really though, they should already be doing this kind of shit if they live together like ffs.

I found even when you say this, they don't care. They'll continue to shoot their shot regardless. This is why I have a fake wedding ring set.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/06/20 06:40 PM

^ this. Definitely make out first and fool around. If he doesn't have ED, a normal healthy male can get an erection from making out. Its also how you test if they are fully functioning (i.e don't have a porn addiction or something else)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/06/20 01:26 PM
22

I actually agree with you. I don't like small dicks (no woman does!) but I would chose a rock hard average dick over a big dick because I've found big dicks to be painful for me or also have problems maintaining erections. Even the average dick size is 5-7 inches. All my past experiences with men with big dicks they were hella lazy in bed and thought that the fact they had big dicks meant they didn't have to work as hard in bed. Big dicks are still nice to look at, lol.

Not all military men are bad (and I'm in the least 'military' like branch of the US armed forces) but generally a lot have a lot of underlying issues that its just easier to stay away from the vast majority of them. You're welcome! This applies to not just military men but a lot of men in uniform (police, fire, etc) have a lot of the same if not similar issues that military men do.

I tell them I don't do that sort of thing and if they want a girl who does go find one. I don't send pics at all for personal reasons and also once its out there, its out there. You can't unsend it. A man who even asks for that doesn't respect you imo. If he does and you shoot it down and he never asks again then you know how he is. Some ask for it to see what they can get away with it because men try to push their boundaries to see what they can get away with and if you'll let them. I don't sen…

Why have you two just been back and forth in a texting 'situationship'? If you never had any intention of taking her out on a date you would've otherwise you've just been keeping her on the back burner as a 'back up'. Sounds like she's met someone else.

Definitely moisturize. Oily skin is a sign that your skin is "dehydrated" since its trying to get moisture by producing more oil. Once you start doing this you should start to see an improvement!

Literally men have no shame, but if they find you attractive at first glance and don't know your age they'll go for it. Age and the wall is not a thing.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/05/20 01:09 PM
17

Yeeep I get this too. I am in my early 30s (just barely into 30s) and people don't ever believe me when I say my age unless I show my ID. Also I've encountered a lot of men in their 20s that find women in their 30s attractive. My current partner is 25. Seriously, what wall? I also personally think I look better now at 30 than I did in my 20s. I am much more secure with my looks, matured as well and overall a lot more self confident.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/05/20 12:34 PM

I 100% agree with you. It isn't normal at all and I have no idea why now kink is considered the norm. It isn't.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/05/20 12:56 PM
30

Honestly I hate that if you're into "vanilla" sex that you're considered boring and "kink" is whats considered normal now. Kink isn't normal and we get shamed by kinkmeishas and even men for not being into kink and like you said, we're labeled as boring. Why the hell did this ever become so normal in society today? It isn't and shouldn't be.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/05/20 07:42 PM

Also this was between two guys too so...obviously the mindset hasn't changed.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/05/20 05:15 PM

Thats how I feel too. I also just want to go on a bomb ass honeymoon and I'm not into big weddings either.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/05/20 05:04 PM

Yep same with me. My goal is to not engage with that so I usually don't respond.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/05/20 12:41 PM
23

You don;t have to grasp at straws. My ex was similar and said he was never one to "express" how he felt about me because he was bad at it and he was more of a physical person which was total bs. He just liked sex. Current partner? Tells me all the damn time. When a person is crazy about you they make a point to say it all the time.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/05/20 05:35 PM

Did your comment get deleted? LOL. Just because you spoke the truth.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/20 06:08 PM

Thats likely why. The OP posted later on most of his sons friends were 20-21 and gross.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/05/20 06:02 PM

Weed through a lot of bs, its okay to have standards and honestly focus on myself and the quality of not just romantic relationships in my life, but all the relationships in my life. You can apply FDS to a lot of things and its made me a lot more self confident.

I use snapchat for most of my AF friends but I would never use it for dating. Dudes that ask for it are like a few other have said- low class and trashy and just want to send dick pics. Barf.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 07:10 PM
21

I'm not surprised. I knew about it when I studied history when I was in undergrad and a lot of it was astonishing. Most of the comfort women were Korean or Chinese and I also read they even captured Dutch women from the East Indies and they were exclusive to the officers only. All of their treatment was horrifying.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 04:58 PM
38

There was a good movie portraying the story of one of them in the Korean film "I Can Speak." Its just the story of one of these women but there were loads more. It really is eye opening when you google the stories of these women and how horrible it was during WWII.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 04:41 PM

I had a former close friend who did the same. Basically became her therapist for a LV scrote and essentially I ended things after I told her to grow up and take accountability for herself and blocked her everywhere. She essentially sent me a DM on insta from a different account saying I treated her unfairly and a year or two later I went on to say I hoped she was doing well (she doesn't have that dude in her life anymore) but I felt a lot of relief and less stress with her no longer around.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 01:44 PM

theres another AITA thread where a boyfriend got mad at his gf for masturbating and he walked in on it and then complained they don't have enough sex. Also: he doesnt have a job, she pays all the income for their living expenses and he refuses to work in the pandemic even though some essential workplaces are hiring. Men truly do have wtf logic.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/20 05:06 PM
16

Eh, FDS states to never chase a man so calling and texting every day is essentially chasing. OP just needs to stop doing anything like she stated she did and she stopped chasing. Calling and texting=chasing. You don't do that. Ever.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/20 12:27 PM
5

Don't mention anything and pull away. Its good to have a roster of guys so you don't get too invested in just one. Like others have said, pull away and usually it will fade out on its own. Usually months later you get a "wyd" text too.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/20 12:25 PM
9

I also think its because this sub teaches you to not put up with certain behaviors and set boundaries and I don't know why a lot of people find that weird? Is it so wrong to want respect from relationships? No.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/04/20 02:47 PM
31

I feel the same too. Totally different mindset and space than I was months ago.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/04/20 04:08 PM

NO BOOBS=I KEEP MY PRIDE. I don't even want to figure out the mental math to get to that, lmfao. Glad you blocked him OP.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/04/20 04:07 PM

I'm glad a lot of people are telling the OP its abuse but its gross the top comment is "hAvE u TrIeD tAlkInG tO hIm?". Another comment with an award that said she had her answer and did she want to hear a joking statement like that about her baby. What a PoS man. She needs to leave immediately.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/04/20 03:15 PM
17

I'm glad that girl did that and told your friend. My ex did this for weeks if not months before we broke up with another girl. He dumped me but its nice to know I dodged that bullet.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/04/20 03:01 PM
26

^^ This right here. You are talking about cooking as a passion of yours and its something you enjoy doing. Baking a woman a cake for her birthday? Thoughtful. Using cooking to get a woman to come over for sex as a cheap date? Low value. You're young so just take this advice for when you get older and go out on proper dates! But as of now nothing you're doing is wrong.
/r/askFDS28/04/20 12:28 PM
7

Its problematic for sure but the OP may not be in a mindset to realize she could have a child on her own without a man and there are plenty of avenues to do that. My guess is that she has tunnel vision because of a lot of factors and sees that ever impending biological clock ticking that she just wants to focus on having a kid ASAP and it has to be with a man. There are a lot of alternatives to having a kid that you can have a kid and be a single mom without having to have a man in your life to …
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/04/20 07:44 PM

Its disgusting that the top comment basically told the OP to settle because she isn't going to get everything she wants. Typical male response.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/04/20 05:26 PM

I think it’s PoF. But also OP fk that guy. I’ve had some comment saying my boobs looked nice if they were real. 🙄 you’re gorgeous!

A few weeks ago I had a man from OLD want to sit in a parking lot of McDs for a date while we ate in our cars then get angry when I said no.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/04/20 02:16 PM

Yeahhh definitely don’t do it. My pick me self did with an ex and I regret it. I haven’t since then because anything can be traced back to you. Men will keep it for years even with new gfs and its so disrespectful and gross. I haven’t sent any ever since and absolutely refuse to. 🤬🤮

Ohhh, gotcha. I read that wrong, lmao. I dated my ex around the 2 year mark of his divorce, maybe even a little bit before? I'm not entirely sure. He lied about a lot and sis, mine said the same too! You'll be so much happier and better off now trust me!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/04/20 07:38 PM

You don't have problems arousing men. I'm 31 and my bf is 25. Glad you took the trash out! My previous ex was also post divorce rebound and had a lot of the same things your ex did (callous, cold, etc) . Luckily I got dumped but I'm so happy for you and for leveling up! You deserve so much more!!!

I also think men emotionally distance themselves right before they're about to break up with someone, sometimes even months before. They "check out" mentally and eventually just pull the plug. Sometimes they never really even check in to the relationship at all like you said.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/04/20 10:36 PM

ITS THE WALL. I mean I'm 31 and my boyfriend is 25 and you're likely right about the rest hahaha. Honestly I am way more confident and look better in my 30s than I ever did in my 20s because I was at that awkward "what kind of person am I" phase. It hasn't been like that in my 30s for me.

I swear we see thisi all the time. Man wants open marriage, wife/gf allows it, wife/gf gets all the attention and the man gets nothing, gets jealous and wants it closed again.

I pay for nothing that isn't my responsiblity already (i.e my bills) in my relationship until I'm married. That's how I see it.

Admittedly, my current SO pays for everything and he casually asked me what my favorite stone was for jewelry and I said I didn't have one and he was perplexed because it was generally implying he wanted to buy me some and he said something similar to the effect of "not letting him show me off" and it was something similar like oh my, this man literally is chasing me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/04/20 04:22 PM

It doesn't necessarily mean the dude needs to be a father and a provider. A man should still pay because you're giving him your time and he needs to add value to your life.

No. A woman should never combine finances at all unless you're married and even then, a man can still take total advantage of this situation. This boils a lot down to the old saying: give a man a fish, feed him for a day- teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime. Your GF would do a lot better with you helping her learn how to budget and teaching her financial responsibility on her own vs everything being set up combined and you two aren't even married. The thought is nice but I agree with th…

Literally, anytime you're an opinionated woman who shares her opinion and stands up for herself and doesn't take crap, you're automatically labeled a bitch. This isn't just by other men, it can be done by other women too. FDS is all about finding a partner who respects you and treats you well and somehow we're 'the bad guys' in all of this. I also don't get it either. We get a lot of hate but honestly I think it stems from the entire rhetoric of as soon as a woman stands up for herself and has s…

One of my ex's friends hit on me once and when I told him it made me uncomfortable he made me go deal with it vs telling his friend to back off. More reasons why he's my ex now.

I think it depends for me. Having a degree is definitely a bonus in my books, but its not a bottom line for me. I have a masters and I'm going back to school for a second bachelors and I've dated men that don't have degrees but were intellectually stimulating in conversation and had intelligence in a lot of other areas. I've also dated men with degrees that were utterly boring and not intellectually stimulating so intelligence is definitely subjective.

Not responding to texts in a timely manner (i.e at least within a few hours or that same day) and my biggest one of all: wasting a year with a man who once when I was drunk and admitted I think I was falling in love responded that he wasn't ready to say I love you to anyone anytime soon. The real translation: I'm never going to be in love with you. He dumped me two months later and two months after that was already dating someone else.

Man and even my cheap ass self when I want cheap food just goes to Waffle House because I can see them make it in front of me and know if they haven't washed their hands or something touches, etc. I would never even go to Applebees. I also can't tolerate a lot of the normal relationship subs anymore either. I see a bunch of women just saying "Oh my bf/husband/piece of lard is a great provider, so nice, our relationship is great but..." and that right there immediately makes me stop reading. Welcome to the sisterhood! I've definitely experienced this with my exs. Like others I used to invision a lot of the good without seeing how things really were. I agree with a lot of what you wrote. I too have found that the younger men cater to me, make effort to impress me and definitely respect me a lot more than men older than me do. It has nothing to do with power dynamics at all and comes down to character of the man. I consistently get told by men younger than me that they find it majorly attractive that I'm confident, have my shit together and know what I want in life. The youngest guy I'm talking to/have been out with for a few months now is 25 and he's already been through a lot of the same life experiences as I have - graduated college, has a stable job, etc and there isn't much of a generational gap between us. You are absolutely correct and no one should be calling you old. Sure texting is a form of communication but it will never replace a man actually showing you that he cares through his actions. I've learned this the hard way through my own life but also after implementing FDS now in my life. Texting doesn't mean shit if it isn't backed up by how he treats you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/03/20 12:49 PM

^^ So much of this. Treat them to better dates and do not initiate sex as soon as you are. Get to know someone for a longer period of time before just jumping into bed with them. Everything about you screams that you only want casual and that's the message you're sending.
/r/askFDS20/03/20 12:06 PM

I wouldn't want to date now anyways. Taking a break from it has been nice actually. Even if you're not showing any symptoms it's safer to limit your social contact to avoid getting others sick. LVM males don't care. I know I care about others and want to keep them and myself safe.

I think OP meant in the sense of he should be proud to show youoff and let it be known he is in a relationship. A HVM isn't afraid to to that. It doesn't necessarily mean it has to be all over social media but if a guy has them and he likes it he should be showing you off because he's proud you're his girlfriend and doesn't hide it.

Yep this exactly. My ex did it to me - meanwhile the new GF is everywhere. Lesson learned.

Open relationship my ass. She was second fiddle. Recently found out my ex did the same to me- he was dating someone else while we were together but claimed we had an open relationship and we're supposed to be honest about all that. Did he ever share that? Nope. No idea if I was the other woman or Not but I'm glad this girl and me got rid of the scum in our lives. Luckily I dodged a bullet since I was dumped lol.

Just say you don't go over to strangers houses that you don't know and if they keep pressuring you just report, unmatch and block. They basically want sex and think they're being some kind of cute to get it. They aren't.

Not to mention you hear plenty of stories of dudes sending unsolicited dick pics and thats basically sexual harassment.

^ this exactly OP. A week was a waste of your time. I usually respond with like "I don't do those, I prefer dinner." And if they decline, ask why, say they don't do those and prefer coffee then I simply respond "We have different definitions of dating." And then I unmatch/block and move on. No need to add anything else.

^ this. No gym in their right mind would make it 6-9 pm every damn night as ladies hour. 6-9 one night a week sure, yes. But every night? Fuck no because that's bad business and they are alienating half of their population that uses their gym. My guess its the one hour each night (maybe 6-7) that he he decides he wants to go workout and he can't and hes bitching and exaggerating the story on reddit so he can get more sympathy and up votes. Seriously, stop bitching and pick a different hour to wo…

I mean I used to say that but...I don't like micropenises. Granted they're a small percentage of the population but still. I couldn't ever with them but the rest of the stuff you're spot on. I also don't like big penises either. I've learned those men just think that just because they have a big dick that's all they need and are some of the laziest ever in bed.

I was gonna say the thing that stuck with me the most from He's Just Not That Into You is that if a dude is into you- it doesn't matter. He will do whatever to make it happen and if he was that keen on seeing her he would've prioritized OP and made a way over to where she was if he wanted to see her. He put his dude bro first so that shows where his priorities were. Dude got butthurt she made other plans and didn't sit around waiting for him. Way to go OP!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/02/20 01:44 PM

It won't. A HVM is very accepting of boundaries and won't push you or coerce you into anything. Example: The most HV in my rotation and I finally slept together and I was the one that initiated sex. It had come up before and I said I'd rather wait until I'm ready. His response: "I will respect that." and he changed topics and that was that. He never once brought it up again and we've been dating for about four months now. Not once did he ever pressure me into sex.

Omg I loved your response! I had something similar happen to me where they wanted to meet for coffee/drinks and I stated I prefer meeting for food and they said food takes too long so I just responded "We have different ideas about what dating is. There is hope for them yet! I went and found that thread and reading it the OP said it took him literally two hours to make the ring he gave his fiance because he's a metalworker/knows how to do that kind of stuff and its something he does frequently so he knows what he's doing. Its not selfish at all for her to want a diamond and a real ring yet we're materialistic because we want them? Bs.

My dad may not be a HVM but he always gave me and my brothers great advice and this is just proof that he reminds me he's right. He always told us never lower your standards for anyone- at some point someone will meet them or they won't and just keep living your life. I take this to heart now and this tweet just proves it but hey at least he acknowledged we're awesome. I guess whining is the only way to handle it!

I mean I take looks into consideration as well. I can't date someone I don't find attractive and I consider looks a part of being a HVM. Looks do matter because it takes 15 seconds to make a first impression and I agree it isn't entirely about money but you still want someone that can support you and a family in the future so a man does need to have his shit together.

Good for you! And I can gather want rank he was when you said sergeant. I'm glad you dumped his ass. You deserve better and I'm glad you realized that and are already on the path to being good to yourself. I honestly don't think men when they join the military are bad - I think the military (especially active) adds a lot onto their life in a lot of different lifestyle factors and affects them which definitely explains a lot of the reasoning as to why they become LVM. Yeep. I mean like you said there is the like 1% that are genuinely good people and are HVM/HVW but most are already married or you have to weed through a lot to find them which is so exhausting. I just don’t date military myself even as someone that is in the military and I’m glad OP is leveling up! I’m proud of the fact I serve and others do too but the military adds another level of stress onto your life that usually just shows a dudes true colors. Even a girls too.

What trash. As a female who serves (dunno if he did serve?) I'm so glad you dumped his ass. I'm in the military myself and don't even date military men. Soooo not worth it. Congrats on #dumphisass2020 and getting on to a better YOU.

She eventually kicked me out when I was teenager and sent me to live with my father because her newest BF at the time didn't like me and thought I was a brat, lol. Even now that I've moved back in with her while I'm going back to university and doing ROTC she's still talking to this guy who is in and out of rehab constantly…

I asked him why was he telling me this and then blah blah blah got a text explaining all the high hopes he had etc etc. He's promptly blocked and deleted. See you’re like me too. I also enjoy it every once in awhile but only after I’ve had a lot of foreplay and prep. I also use a few anal toys during regular intercourse which also feels amazing to me without having to engage in actual anal sex. When I am in the mood for it it does feel amazing but for me it’s never a requirement. I’m perfectly fine without it but I do enjoy it when done with a trusting partner.

I read an article in a psychology journal that stated men and women grieve in very different ways. It went on to compare the two and that women actually approach grieving after a break up in a lot more healthy way than men do. Women grieve with a support group etc while men don't really do that. It was an interesting read. I need to see if I can find that link for anyone if they want to check it out. edit: Found it if anyone wants a read: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/valley-girl-bra…

You’re basically a rebound for this dude. You should’ve left him blocked. When he talked about his ex a lot it’s a sign he wasn’t over her at all. Block and then write it all out so you see all the red flags. Read the FDS sidebar. Keep him blocked. Move on and heal.

The most HVM in my rotation is 5’6” and he doesn’t give 0 fucks about his height. I’m 5’2” and my most recent ex was 6’2” who wasn’t HVM at all. Height isn’t a big deal at all to me.

I have spurts where I date and don't date. I was single for like 2 years after a horrible relationship and then was in another relationship that ended early last year. I've been casually dating again but I've definitely taken a step back to focus on me more and it'll probably continue on this path for the next few years. I have too many things going for me to even care/want a man. Joining the AF, going back to school for nursing and getting ready to do ROTC - I'm more driven and excited about my…

He doesn't "respect" your desire for no sex because he basically told you he wants to go stick his dick in other women. Take the trash out. I wouldn't even entertain the "let me know what you want." Block him from everything and move on and focus on YOU.

Soo many are like that on OLD sadly.

You literally should not be scolded for that and he should've been paying anyways. I admit I also dated this dude too for a minute to years ago...not one of my greatest moments but hey we all have them.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/01/20 12:22 PM

OLD tends to have the worst of the worst on there. Occasionally, you might find a HVM but I feel like it's extremely rare.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/01/20 11:47 PM

The "more likely" is a small percent that goes up each year, i.e 0.5-1% each year. Its very marginal. Genetics also has a lot to play a part in it. I'm trying to say up to 40, its likely okay for a woman to have a kid. 40+ is where a lot of other factors go in.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/20 07:19 PM

This I definitely see. I genuinely do think she attempted to make the best of her circumstances but I also agree Diana shouldn't be lumped in with the rest of them for picking LVM. I don't think Diana had a choice in who she married based on her upbringing, familial pressure, society pressure - there was a lot that went into her life and marriage. Not saying the other ladies couldn't do better they definitely could but Diana's circumstances were very different.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/20 04:02 PM
24

Same. I don't even think Di and Charles even really loved each other too? Lady Di was placed in front of Charles as the more "appropriate" candidate as a future Queen because of her upbringing and there were plenty of reports that he had loved Camilla for years and loved her before he even married Diana. I feel like their marriage was fully for appearances only.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/20 01:36 AM
16

My parents said much of the same to me. I've never been engaged but I am extremely picky now with men and vetting at 31 I'm in no rush for marriage or kids. Heck if I want a kid, I'll be a foster mom in the future but don't let anyone tell you that 36 is a late age for babies. Plenty of women have kids in their 30s and they are perfectly fine and in fact many studies show the kids end up smarter and the women are happier too. :)

You did the right thing. I had something very similar happen - the guy was nice, treated me well and we went out a few times and I just wasn't feeling it. He also ended up getting very clingy and was always commenting on how attractive I was to him. I broke it off with him too.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/01/20 01:50 PM

It is. He countered with "Its not a waste of time to get to know each other I had a lot of fun talking to you!" and I just told him "It's a waste of *my* time. Goodbye." He's now blocked.

So I thought I was talking to a promising dude until the all important “What are you looking for” and got the “Well I don’t know what I want but with work being crazy I don’t want to jump into something serious blah blah” so I wished him well and moved on. He seemed totally taken aback when I parted ways when I said we want different things and it wasn’t going to work. Meanwhile I took a nice hot long shower and have text messages from other guys too. Weeding out LVM has been getting easier and …

Oh yeah I've had it happen too. I;m glad the OP weeded out these LVMs though! I'm not putting this guy in my example as the only one I'm seeing - he's just one in my rotation but he paid, was a great conversationalist and is pretty well off and connected. We'll see if he fades after awhile.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/01/20 07:03 PM

Also if a dude is into you, he'll book the second date then and there. I just went out on a first date with a guy last night and he already booked the second date with me for Saturday before the end of the date. There's no "mixed messages" nor do you need to give a man encouragement to go out with you again. If he's into you, he'll take that initiative himself.

I'm in this situation with a best friend I dated in highschool and we broke up in my first year of college. We were friends for two years, dated for two and a half and split amicably because we were acting more like friends again vs people that were dating. We stopped talking for about threeish years of college and reconnected again when I was in grad school. She's now married and we're back to being best friends. I think this is just a personal preference thing. I don't automatically write off a man if hates cats or something. But I have a dog and if he doesn't get along/like dogs then I swipe no but not every person is an animal person? Also animals =/= to a child so to say he won't like children if he doesn't have a pet/doesn't like pets to me is a bit of a stretch.

Similar to me and finally he started introducing me as his girlfriend after I did all the things to get him to pick me. A month later or so he dumped me. I cringe after everything I did- sex whenever he wanted, baking shit for him, buying him gifts. I admit he actually made sure I always came first before he ever finished when we had sex and that was probably the only thing he had good at least in our relationship so I know now dudes are capable of that. My most annoying one: Want to know anything, just ask. ;) They also have a blank ass profile. I usually swipe left on those. I can't start a conversation with a blank profile. I also consider men who don't put some kind of effort on their dating profiles as ones that are probably super lazy in relationships too.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/12/19 03:19 PM

You probably also shouldn't be using OLD while at work if you needed a TS clearance anyways...
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/12/19 03:17 PM

They do! They try to make you out to be the bitch and in reality you don't need to lower your standards for anyone. Someone will meet them. I'm so glad my dad has always ingrained this in my head, even from a young age.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/12/19 02:40 PM

A lot of men respond with just hey with their first message even on OKC. I just don’t even respond. That’s such low effort.

One of the best things I learned from He’s Just Not That Into You.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/12/19 03:53 PM

I usually ask that after they’ve asked me out. I don’t quickly ask them to treat me to dinner and I usually do a lot of screening before I even get to that point. Sometimes even just talking to them I see red flags and block and move on. I don’t like wasting my time with dates with guys that aren’t even worth me going on a date with.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/12/19 03:45 PM

Yep spinsters forever apparently. There's nothing wrong with getting respect from someone you date and having standards and moving on from that person if they refuse to meet them. This sub is all about loving and respecting yourself - nothing wrong with that.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/12/19 01:10 PM
29

I don't know if its just me but I've even found out saying like "Where are you treating me to dinner?" or asking where they are taking you for some reason has also weeded out a lot of them in OLD for me too so a lot of the time I don't even get to a first date because they balk at that idea, lol.

I told my partner I loved him and his response was “I need a break.” Literally right after I said the words I love you to him he said he was uncomfortable and needed a break. That’s basically unmistakably a break up but a cowardly way to do it. I ultimately went no contact with him and have remained that way. We were both in the military- different branches and he’s left the service and has also moved to an entirely different state which has made things easier. I haven’t spoken to him since I go…

I think you approached it well too. Most people that do this kind of arrangement introduce nonmonogamy as a way to "fix" the relationship and it doesn't work at all and even on the nonomongamy reddit they've said much of the sort - introducing it as a fix to your relationship 99% of the time does not work.

I agree with your differentiation as well. When I was part of the swinging world the most successful swinging couples I saw were the ones that only participated in stuff with other couples. The ones that let a third join them etc seemed to always have drama. I generally don’t agree with the lifestyle after being a part of it. It seems selfish and imo doesn’t exactly liberate women at all. It subjects you to a lot of mediocre sex which I don’t know why anyone would want to do that.

So I used to be in a open relationship with my most recent long term ex and we were completely open early on in our relationship. I did this because we both were bisexual and still liked hooking up with people of the same gender and yes, this was before I implemented FDS. I am no longer in this relationship and I’m solely into monogamy now. I’ve been in swinging parties etc and while I considered it a great experience for me learning about my sexuality and exploring it I won’t ever go back to ha…

It isn’t kink shaming. It was non consensual so therefore it’s not shaming. You were saying no to stuff you didn’t want to do nor were you comfortable with so don’t ever feel bad for standing up for yourself at all.

They say this about a lot of things - even to pickmeishas. Heck even a guy I was casually dating recently stated he felt intimidated by me and all my accomplishments because he didn't feel like he measured up- even to my family (who are all highly successful and such). He ghosted me so that made my life easier but my ex said some of the same kind of things about me too before he decided to go "I need a break." I’m lucky enough that my IUD hasn’t affected me all that much beyond sore boobs but oh man when I was on certain BC pills I was such a raging bitch. BC really does cause a lot of side effects and all the responsibility shouldn’t be on the woman it’s so ridiculous.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/12/19 11:18 AM

I’m lucky enough that I have an IUD and it doesn’t cause me any side effects but this is insane. Men should wear condoms too. No glove no love I don’t care about “your penis not feeling good” I literally have a device in my body that prevents pregnancy and I don’t want any STDs. Condoms do more than prevent pregnancy they also protect against STDs and are cheaper than actually getting a STD. I swear men are getting more and more stupid each day.

I was this for my ex. I realize it now that I’ve been implementing FDS in the past three months but I was definitely Ms.RightNow Becky. He bounced once he was leaving his current job and was job hunting for another.

He did her a favor and like a lot of the commenters said her getting an illness caused him to show his true colors. He had no intentions of ever marrying her either. Trash.

I hate this too. There was one guy that I was seeing that did this and then constantly always expected to be invited over to my house every weekend after a date and would get pissy if I already had plans with friends, family, etc. He'd get mad if I didn't text back promptly too but always did it with little jabs etc at me. He's been dumped and no longer on my bench.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/12/19 07:30 PM

I am the exact same and I only use CMB and OKC. I generally put effort into my profile and I still get the "hey what's up." I think the only people that have put effort in first messages are the girls I've matched with and a few guys but I genuinely pass a lot on ones that put no effort into their messages. I also get asked for phone numbers fast too which is also annoying af as well.

There are lots of studies that show that women that had kids in their 30s are much happier moms and their children also end up with higher IQs. There's benefits to having kids in your 30s - you're more financially stable, feel more secure with who you are and also have more wisdom. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. <3

Such trash. Openly saying he doesn’t respect her so boy bye. I had one today who got utterly baffled that I refused to meet him for coffee only dinner then he quickly backtracked and said he was just joking about the coffee. It’s also making me only want to stick to dating girls in 2020.

Imo, let kids play with whatever toys they want as long as its safe and it doesn't do them any harm. My oldest nephew is 6 and loves tutus and unicorns (he has a tutu he loves wearing) and also was the only boy invited to a recent classmates unicorn themed party. He also has a hardcore love of monster trucks and pro wrestling. I don't think his love of "feminine" things has tainted his masculinity at all. Let kids be kids.

I've read the book and I've always interpreted "He's just not that into you" as a way to move on from a guy that isn't going out of his way to make plans with me, call me, etc. I also agree with you that it doesn't say anything about you at all. In my opinion the book boils it down to a black and white perspective to make it plain that if man isn't going out of his way to take you out, he doesn't like you that much so you shouldn't waste your time on him and move on. Tinder can be better in certain areas but honestly I stopped using it because I did not have the patience to weed through all the LVMs on there. I mostly use CMB now but even that has its fair share of LVMs. I haven't lost all faith in OLD but I am far more ruthless with my screening now and scheduling dates/leaving dudes and girls.

Ngl I was a person who thought this sub was toxic and then I started reading what you all were posting and realized this sub is so uplifting and powerful that it had stuff I actually needed. My dating life and my own life has improved so much recently and implementing FDS has taught me a lot. My dad always told me never lower your standards someone will meet them and aim even higher. Seriously. This sadly happens a lot in India - there's even more stories of girls getting raped on buses etc and no one does anything. I had a guy act enraged when after two chats on Bumble he wanted me to come over to his house. I told him I don't do that and he replied with some insults and name calling. He was promptly blocked and deleted.

It isn't a man's business anyways how many sexual partners you've had. I'll say one or two and then move on from the topic because really, it isn't his business. The guys always seem more interested in this than the women I've dated. It really isn't anyone's business regardless at the end of the day.

Legally you're supposed to report if you have a STD to all previous sexual partners so....

Preach. That's how I feel here. This is the only sub where imo we all have each other's backs and I can literally comment and not have to read my statements twice before posting. I seriously love this sub.

I have an IUD because I wanted one but any dude that I have sex with is wearing a condom. They're cheaper than any STDs.

Agreed. I'm also a fellow bi- and I'm sorry you did have to deal with this bull. It's also annoying when men fetishize it too while joking about threesomes. I usually block and delete when they start that.

She shouldn't even be consoling him. The fact that he gets upset too is just so manipulative. I've only had this happen once myself too and it was just the tip. I don't think this is accidental at all. At least some of the comments did tell her to dump him. I would.

It's a sobering thought and I definitely exhibited a lot of pick me behavior in my past too. Finding this sub has been a life changer for me too. Welcome to the fold!

And I would say how a man handles his finances says a lot about himself too.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
