There is never going to be another draft, first of all a lot of the youth these days wouldn't even pass the physicals and men seem way less eager to volunteer to go die in some pointless war then they were in the 1940's-1960's. It would be very unpopular and I imagine most people would refuse.

Am woman - I'm a biig supporter of mens rights (my partner works with young dads and we're both big advocates on the subject of men being overlooked). I always hated the draft, and the idea of people being forced to fight in a war is heinous!! I hope the draft is taken out for the sake of the men who would be forced into battle.

Just want to point out the common headline creation tactic that often leads to misinformation. "[Part of legislative body] passes bill..." means literally nothing. Either the House or the Senate will pass bills all the time knowing full well their other half is going to turn it down. I'd even go so far as to say one house will often only pass a bill if they can feel assured the other will reject it. They want to accrue as many virtue points as possible, while not actually changing any laws.

Not that I defend them, but if it's required for women the register now, it's actually safer for 99% of the military.

Women in military positions are a liability to the rest of the soldiers.
