What I wonder is, how can feminists justify their claims that they "fight for equality" and that the women and children first mentality comes from "patriarchy and gender roles, which they fight" when every single time that same mentality is challenged, they're the first to oppose it?

If you tell a feminist that lone men are far more likely to be attacked by lone women and yet lone women are far more likely to be help, you'll be told "that's because of patriarchy and gender norms. Feminism fights against it". Yet every time such "gender norms" are challenged, they're the first ones fighting to keep them.

In otherwise, she's TWICE AS SAFE as a man but still demanding that AA prioritize women over men.

Also, how dehumanizing is it to men for feminists like this to constantly tell us what we do or don't feel? Did "the news" report on what men feel when alone in a dark place at night?

Even if women were more likely to be attacked, AA should still treat people on a equal basis. A male customer shouldn't get reduced service on the basis of their gender - that's commonly known as sexism.

On what evidence does the MP base this claim?

It is well known that men constitute the vast majority of murder and violent crime victims and are more likely than women to experience violence at the hands of a stranger. Based on this, one could easily argue that a stranded lone man is in more danger in that situation.

The system of prioritising by location makes perfect sense - it seems obvious that a person broken down on a motorway is at higher risk and should receive assistance ahead of, for example, a person broken down in a supermarket car park. Are these people really saying they want the AA to attend women broken down on their own driveways ahead of men broken down, for example, on busy dual carriageways?

Does any emergency service actually prioritise response based on gender? Surely no reasonable person would expect an ambulance to attend a woman with a broken leg ahead of a man of the same age and health profile suffering from a heart attack. Next they will be asking the fire brigade to prioritise attending fires in houses owned by women ahead of those owned by men.

This just goes to demonstrate how equality between the sexes is the last thing some feminist groups want to achieve. I can't believe the AA have apologised for this.

A lot of the outraged replies seem to be from TERFs, which makes a lot of sense. Loads of "adult human female" and "prioritising women because of their SEX". (their emphasis not mine) So the response is to be expected, I guess. They are almost best known for benevolent misogyny second to transphobia/misandry.

This applies to all threads on this: the egregious part to me is the assumption that men are all able-bodied and aside from that capable of defending themselves (I wouldn't be). It's not like you'd be taken on by some random person, this person will have reasonable confidence they'll get what they want so will probably be armed in some way & in reasonable shape. The circumstances would be such that you have basically no chance whoever you are. It's all just a bit nonsensical.

I know TERFs generally don't care about ableism so this would fall on deaf ears. (or, often anyone who isn't a cis woman)

The annoying thing about this is that men are more likely to be victims of violent crime perpetrated by a stranger according to the 2019-2020 England and wales statistics on violent crime. But personally, i wont’t consider that to be worst aspect of this dishonest rhetoric. That will be the constant gaslighting and the complete 180 shift pf the goalpost. Check out the tweet and watch her backers under the replies section changing the definition of Equality to suit their narratives. The statistics that I can find don't bear that out.
