I actually haven't even tried dating because I'm too insecure over this, I almost feel like it's not even worth trying. I live in the USA, which sort of has this culture of "if you haven't moved out by 18, you're a loser" but it just doesn't make much financial sense for me to be living on my own right now. I'm a 22 year old college student, so I just commute to school and my part-time job, there's no real reason for me to be paying hundreds of dollars a month for some shitty apartment somewhere. I will move out eventually once I'm able to financially support myself, but that won't be for several years. Pretty much all my peers are still living with their parents, so it seems to be increasingly common. Are my insecurities over living with my parents justified or irrational?

I understand that trying to date while you live with your family poses some challenges (one of the obvious ones being that having sex becomes significantly harder), but logically and for the sake of my long-term financially stability, living on my own right now just doesn't make much sense
