Good sex mostly depends on a combination of communication, kinks, and libido. Each person has what you might call a "looks threshold" that needs to be met to get the spark going, but once you have the spark, there isn't really a need for much more.

in my experience, no. i don’t want to come off as arrogant but i’ve been described as very attractive and let me tell you.. i’m socially awkward to an extent and my body dysmorphia is taking a toll on my sex life since i’m still working towards confidence so i’m never fully present during sex.

The hottest, no. Somewhat attractive people, maybe. There is definitely a spot where less hot will be worse sex but the opposite end isn't necessarily the best. I imagine having sex with a really hot person who isn't horrible in bed is pretty awesome and if your an attractive person that probably isn't hard to accomplish.

Also we are generalizing here which means averages, many commenters said some not so hot people are great at sex, but there are a lot more who are not. So given that on average everyone is "ok" at sex I'd personally opt for the more attractive partner. If it's really important to them a hot person can find a hot partner who is good at sex by just being a bit more selective just as us normal folks would.

Another point, most people in porn are attractive and they seem to be having good sex.

1) They have sex with other hot people and sex is better all else equal the hotter your partner is

2) They have an easy time finding partners and so have more experience.

3) They are more confident to start with and so have a head start on becoming a good lover.

Genders vary, and people within each gender vary, with a lot of overlap.
