Norahs book is great, but the way this is written suggests that her experiences as a man led to her suicide, which I dont think is true. Even for the mental breakdown she had after her year as a man, I found it a bit difficult to tell to what degree the "having to live as a man"-part caused it.

the title of this & the magazine's is a bit misleading - Norah had deeper problems than just sexuality issues - s/he had deep depression with suicidal ideation. s/he didn't decide suicide just cause s/he realized how difficult it was to be one (a man). when s/he immersed "disguised as a mental patient" - that wasn't a "disguise" - that was in actuality her/his IRL situation.
so yes, she wrote a book & found out that men are in as much pain, maybe even more pain, than women - but that's not why she did the suicide route.
btw - fyi - everyone is in pain - it's called life

She obviously died because of her mental issues, since being a woman and wanting to be a man was likely the only visible part of a huge spectrum of illness.

RIP. I feel really sorry for Norah and that her mental health collapsed. And I also feel very sorry for men. We women are supposed to be empathic sweethearts to men and the story shared here is a lesson for that. She clearly showed that women could never handle being men, but can show deep compassion and support to men because men have no choice. Kindness is supposed to be a prime rule in common sense. While she should be remembered for her positive stance on male issues and rights, don't idolise her too much. She was pretty transphobic throughout her life:

Vincent was described as a libertarian who was critical of postmodernism and multiculturalism. She did not believe that transgender people were the sex they identified as, leading her to be accused of bigotry.
