So, this may be a weird one. I know many will say, "this never happens"... lol. Everyone says this, but the dead bedroom subreddit says differently.

Why does it seem there are 2 different sexual expectations for the f-buddies/fwb and actual relationships (boyfriend/husbands)? Let's look closer at this.

The F-Buddy/FWB:

When women want just sex, they may have a casual relationship with an f-buddy or FWB. Basically, when a woman is horny and in the mood, she may just call up the guy for sex and they do the deed. The relationship is purely sexual and no feelings are involved and the woman is just trying to get off because she is horny. There is no extra fluff needed here for the sex to happen.

The Boyfriends/Husbands:

In this relationship, it seems like women need a bit more to have sex other than just physical attraction. There needs to be an emotional and intellectual attraction as well. When the emotional connection has fallen, for example, the woman won't want to have sex with you and want to be in the mood to have sex with you. For example... when married couples talk, they say that the foreplay happens from the moment they get up. The man has to go throughout his day flirting with his woman, giving her flowers and catering to her before she is in the mood enough to want to have sex. The term I heard here is that women are like slow cookers... they take a while for them to warm up to wanting to have sex, but once they are ready to go... they are ready.

Conclusion:

All I am saying is that there seems to be 2 different requirements to get sex. For the f-buddy/fwb, the woman just needs to find the man physically attractive and be horny. Then, whenever she is horny, she will happily have sex with them.

But, for the boyfriend/husband it seems like the "slow cooker" analogy needs to happen before she is turned on enough to want to have sex... and if you aren't making her feel special throughout the day or their is a loss in an emotional attraction (for example), she won't want to have sex.

And... for the record... I am not saying all women are like this. But this DOES happen.
