I'm MGTOW. I first heard about it 4-5 years old and have reading more about it since. It's been a long journey for me but it feels rather refreshing to finally be free of the social conditioning that I grew up throughout my life. I now live for myself and put my wants and needs first. I see MGTOW as a positive thing for men, not a woman hate group. People just don't understand it.

I know a number of male feminists who are upset by the way women are treated in our society and want to work for a better world. Many of them first observed the issues when they saw how their fathers treated their mothers or women in general.

I personally think MGTOW is a healthier solution than violence or blaming women/hatred for men who have severe social issues and difficulty in relationships. They’re not harming anyone that I know of, only trying to better themselves.

Well I know why some of the women I know became redpilled/traditional women. To put it simply they hate hard manual labor.. This always seems to come about when they need a house redone or a driveway or a patio built. Or a roof. They start to realize what a goddamn pain in the ass it is. Then they miraculously vanish and reappear with food and drinks because they still want to contribute. Then they realize the kids are in everyone's hair and that's dangerous when there's power tools about. Fingers don't grow back after all.

They realize that they are not slaves or some other bullshit for doing traditional gender roles. It's just way easier than carrying shingles up a ladder or carrying 80lb paving stones or shoveling several TONS of gravel or mixing concrete and given the choice they would rather make sandwiches and lemonade and keep the deathwish micro humans alive. Fuck, I would rather do that myself and I'm a guy lol. I have some women friends and family though that absolutely would prefer the hard labor and actually do the work with the men. Mad respect to them.

It's pointless to bring up feminism without specifying the different types.

By and large, every man I know supports 1st and 2nd wave feminism that gave women equal rights and opportunities.

3rd wave feminism is when things start delving into weirdo territory and it becomes heavily geared towards intersectionality and liberal talking points while still trying to champion women. At the time of conception, it was arguably needed to include minority women and distance themselves from racists like Margaret Sanger who only cared for White women. But, over time, it became heavily diluted and started to normalize the demonization of men.

4th wave feminism is trash. I'm sorry but it's the truth. It's filled with full blown misandry that blames straight men, "toxic masculinity", and the "patriarchy" for everything wrong with society. It supports censorship against criticizing women/feminists while men are still off limits. It contradicts itself many times by claiming that the West is full of misogyny and oppresses women while being awfully silent on countries in other parts of the world where women are treated much worse. It created nonsensical buzz words like "manspreading" and "mansplaining" to support their view that the West oppresses women. It demonizes traditional women almost as much as straight men and regards them as having "internalized misogyny" or being "Pick Me's." They use the actions of some men to justify their hate for the whole gender while claiming the adverse is misogyny. They fumbled the #MeToo movement by not gatekeeping it and letting it turn politically biased. They don't realize that their misandry and constant double standards that's reinforced by the mainstream actually empowers the so-called "manosphere" that they despise.

So, it really depends. If we're strictly defining feminism by the first 2 waves, then practically every man I know is an old school feminist who supports women's rights all the way. With the 3rd wave, it's fairly split due to how polarizing it is. With the 4th wave, only a niche of "soy boys" or really weird men really support it because it basically has blatant misandry just like you claim the RP has for women. And men who join the movement still have to mince their words for the fear of being accused of "mansplaining" the feminist movement lol.

I think wanting women or men to have rights is normal human behavior, you dont need to call yourself a feminist or a masculinist or whatever to know that we all deserve basic human decency, i really dislike these feminist/mgtow shit terms since they only create radicalization, when we face problem things suddenly become attraction olympics, in fact mgtow is a reaction towards that, i remember one statement that i really disliked, about a massacre that happened during a war, women were raped, men were beheaded and beaten to death, but then someone came and said "women have it worse in wars" and u can guess how that ended, statements like those only cause radicalization, cuz seriously, war shows now mercy to nobody, but to turn it into a gender issue is low, lowest of the low.

There are definitely men’s issues I feel strongly about - 50% custody, domestic violence resources, circumcision, ending the draft to name a few. As far as MGTOW, that is their right. I’m not about to force anyone of either gender to be in a relationship when they don’t want to be. My only problem with MGTOW is that they often don’t and mainly use it as a venue for bitching about women.

The reason why a man would want to become a feminist is because despite being a blatantly misandrist and female chauvinistic ideal it has great PR, "it's all about equality", " equal rights" that sounds good and you have the public school system, the entertainment industry, Corporate America and really just society as a whole pushing it as a universally regarded positive thing, and any evidence to the contrary can just be written off as "well that's not reeeeal feminism". So the reason why a man would want to be a feminist is because he's either a self-righteous pretentious pseudo activist, he's a good-hearted person who just fell for the trap, he may be somebody trying to improve his image or he could just be trying to get laid.

I don't see nearly as many manosphere sympathizers when it comes to women, and it has overwhelmingly negative PR, so if a woman is willing to put herself out there like that I can believe that on some level it's coming from a genuine place, but you can't rule out the fact that she could also be a chameleon

MGTOW is way out there and the first thing you learn about it is that no two dudes go their own way for the same reason.

I am technically MGTOW because I don't believe in a lot of traditional and gynocentric precepts of society. I am living my life under my own terms.

The original Red Pill was about WAKING UP to the illusions that government, culture, society, education, and women put over on us.

It was the Pickup Artists (and their incel clients) who literally perverted the movement into some sort of whiny female-centric thing where their entire world view revolves around women which is the antithesis of what the Red Pill (especially MGTOW) is actually about.

I only ever called myself a "male feminist" because I just didn't know any better from when I was 14 till I was 21 because my mom is a feminist and all of society just kept fucking shoving it down my throat and slamming it over my head. I stopped calling myself that when I dropped out of college severely disappointed with everything but a whole lot wiser about life at 21.

I don't think that I can call myself anything. And I think that most people are like me, they aren't just one thing they don't believe in just one ideal.

Someone can be completely conservative in some areas, and completely liberal in others. And I think that politicians have lost that idea. And I think that a lot of people even here on Reddit, have to see themselves as one thing or another. But honestly most people are not like that, they go back and forth in what they think, and what they believe.

I will fight anyone when it comes to women's rights. We should not have to, as women be subjected to what someone else who does not have our issues thinks we should do. But I will also fight for gun rights. So a lot of people on here may hate me because I believe in the Second Amendment, but I stand with them when it comes to women rights.

We have to stop putting people into boxes.

Because he has a daughter. That’s the only Reason I resonate with some feminist ideology. Feminists have done a lot for womens rights and globally they’re the main ones fighting for protections of those same rights. So if I have a daughter who I want to be able to go to school, work if she chooses to, have legal and social resources if she’s sexually assaulted why wouldn’t I support the people who make that possible?

I imagine women become red pilled/MRA sympathizers for a similar reason. They have sons and they think red pill, mgtow etc are the people that will fight for and support the rights of their sons. So they side with them.

I didn't become a feminist because I thought it could benefit me personally, I became a feminist because I agreed with its arguments, conclusions and morals.

It seems quite obvious that we treat men and women differently in society, that we do this based on assumptions based on gender, and we do this even when it is against the wishes of the individual in question.

Feminism was the first philosophical movement to try and address this injustice, and that is why I call myself a feminist.

I'm gonna write about the feminism/mens rights that are not the extremes that are the loud minority on the internet.

Because they have people of the opposite gender that they care about, thus they care about the problems that they face.

A woman could care about fathers getting paternal leave, diaper chaging stations being in a gender neutral place (or if it not possible, at least to have them alsoin male restrooms), fathers not being called babysitters when they take care of the child, men not being insulted for not being uber masculine and showing emotions that are not anger, men not being shamed for their virginity, encouraging men to go to the doctors (both physicians and mental health), encouraging men to create and maintain platonic relationships, men not being called gay just because they deeply platonically care about another man, ect.

A man could care about women being cat called, harassed, discriminated just because they are women, being forced to go through a pregnancy, ect.

I would say I am an egalitarian humanist as well as a feminist, by which I mean that I want to remove the harmful effects of patriarchy towards women, but am also in favor of social improvements that would benefit men’s lived experiences. Men’s rights activism tends to be dominated by the kind of misogyny and extremism I can’t get behind (like some radical feminism), but there are certainly some valid ideas to come out of the movement, such as more equitable treatment of parenting time in divorce, more attention to male mental health issues, etc.

What I get out of this is the same thing I get out of any form of activism: a chance to participate in knocking wee chips out of the oppressive dystopian hellscape of my country and hopefully support, uplift, and build community with my fellow humans.

Red pulled in the more popular sense -- not the extremes of the subreddit -- is much closer to what most women want than the conventional modern ideal, but they (and feminist men) are made to feel bad about themselves for wanting it and so repress the feeling.

If you pay attention to any topic that isn't currently gatekept (should the guy make the first move, have you ever liked a guy but said no when he first asked you out, are part-time employed Mom's working more or less than their ideal) the answer almost always accords with red pill thinking and often is straight up extension of r/redpillwomen doctrine.

As a man, I detest the anti-feminists, which results in my alignment with feminists. Much of anti-feminism, including TRP, reduces to men working together collectively to minimize intermale conflict and gain an advantage over women. To me, this is antithetical to masculinity.
