Take a good hard look at step 2. This is why make-up and heels and other trappings of femininity are not pro-woman in themselves. They exist to make you pleasing to men. Even if women think they have claimed these things for themselves and are doing it for themselves, they're still giving men exactly what they want.

This magazine article proves that there was a grain of truth in it all along.
