One thing I’ve seen a lot in subs such as dating, relationships, and this one is the idea of “mismatched” or low libido women leading to a dead bedroom type of relationship. While I will acknowledge there is likely a small subset of women this could be true for, it is highly unlikely it occurs at a rate large enough to account for the number of relationships where sex has dipped below a preferential level of occurrence.

In my own life when I was dating non-exclusively with many different women, one thing many of them stated was how stale sex became in past LTRs (within one month to three months), however this did not occur with me. If the “honeymoon” phase accounts for this level of excitement for sex, then this can lead to a few conclusions. A new partner is necessary for those women to become excited for sex (which isn’t the case since it did not happen with me), comfort is so diametrically opposed to desire that you must sacrifice one for the other (seems more reasonable to me), or the woman’s libido is 100% contextual based on the man she is with.

To the last point, many women who are in dead bedrooms typically have past relationships or times in life where they were far more sexually open than they are with the current guy. That seems to be a nail in the coffin in terms of why this occurs. Additionally, a low libido woman in a dead bedroom would continue this behavior even if the relationship fails and goes on to date other people, which we know does not happen.

What are your thoughts on the idea of “mismatched” libidos? To me, it seems as a kind way of obfuscating what is really mismatched desire.
