With a good prenup, this isn’t an issue. They both earn the same. He will never be financially responsible for the kids if they divorce. They start off with 0 and build up over time and then buy a place etc etc. Everything pre marriage is clear, everything post Marriage is shared.

As long as it is all fully acknowledged beforehand, why not?

Unpopular opinion:

She's securing a future for herself and her children where none of them will be going hungry or living in squalor. To judge her for that is to lack empathy and compassion.

That being said, I can't condone her actions, as the way it's presented, it seems like she's leading this guy on which just isn't ok.

This isn't just some single mother. There are two children that will likely grow up hungry and without a father; A parental figure that I'm told is far more important for child development than the mother.

She could either A.) lead him on and make sure to perform her wifely duties. Making him feel loved, cared for, and protected, even if it's an act. Maybe she'll learn to love him in time.

or B.) tell him the truth, that she doesn't love him, but she's still wanting to be with him for his financial stability. (and if you think men don't also marry for this reason, you're naive.) And risk him walking away. (such as his right.)

She's left with a tough choice in which both scenarios leaves a victim: Her children, or her boyfriend.

I genuinely don't think there's a right or wrong answer here, but I would be lying if I didn't think that choosing not to marry him would make her a bad mother.

Ofcourse, this is assuming that the children would be left hungry if she chose not to marry him. If we assume that the children will be well provided for without him, then obviously leading him on is just cruel and evil.
