This was actually how I started. But my goal was to interact with one attractive woman per day. First I started by asking for directions, then I moved up to ask for directions while holding eye contact, then I moved to ask for directions then changing the topic to personal questions...

I think it's a good idea. Note you can adapt the openings on what's going on instead of sticking with asking for directions.

One time, I asked a girl who was having a drink with friends if she was the owner of the badly parked car in front of them cause I know cops in this area issue fines very fast. She said no and started speaking on bad parking and that it's annoying for mothers with a stroller like her. She obviously engaged conversation and proposed me to join to get a drink with them. I refused politely with a smile pretexting I have stuff to do and found the same girl on happn few days after.

It would probably be totally different if I only asked for directions (it happened in front of my house).

As somebody with a background in psychology incrementing works, but what always bothers me about these posts is how you talk about women. "Gaming" "opening" and "the number" all reveal that you're thinking about this in terms of something to be obtained, an object, you've objectified the situation.

It's something to think about because oftentimes the reason we find ourselves isolated is because we think this way in the first place. You're not gaming your socializing. You're not opening you're showing interest. You didn't get the number you got HER number.

Don’t compliment girls.

The girls you’re going to want to compliment get complimented all the time. The least attractive thing you could do to a girl that you just met is compliment her. It puts you in the frame of being “less than” and trying to validate her puts her in the frame of being superior to you, or out of your league.

As others have said, just talk to them like normal people. You can show them through your actions of flirting and body language that you are interested in them, but never out right validate them.

I understand that these are just exercises to get you more comfortable, but I promise you that just in general you will never get a girl attracted to you if you operate from a frame of being less than. The reason “assholes” seem to get girls is that they act entitled to girls, which is such a change of pace for them. Beautiful girls have guys being nice to them, complimenting them, and kissing the ground they walk on all day long. If you do the same she will dismiss you quickly. Whereas, if you act normal and like she isn’t some celebrity, she’ll perceive you as having higher value. Guys who compliment her come off as desperate and having no options, whereas guys who treat her like a normal person will actually have a normal chance of getting to know her and transition into dating or something along those lines.

If possible break this up into daily routines. Don't just take one day and knock it all out. Its way easier to create a habit if you can just do it daily vs just 1 day a week.

I'd also suggest making some stuff even granular. Like make 50% girls by themselves and 50% girls in groups. Or 50% attractive girls and 50% ugly girls.

You don't want to get into the pattern of only having the ability to talk to a certain type of girl when at higher skillsets you will need to have the ability to talk to all kinds of girls. There is a point in skill you get to that a lot of the hot girls you want are constantly with other people (sometimes their moms) and if you want access to them you need the ability to start approaching them. But if never approached them before, you won't really start and it will handicap you for the rest of your game. You want to have a learning tactic that where your opportunities and options is a widening funnel, not a narrowing one.

What you're doing is fundamentally correct but once a week may be too little. By the end of the week, you'll forget the progress you made. Remember, you're overriding an emotion . I also recommend keeping a book on you . You write down your successes , and rate how difficult it was. The reason you rate it is to both understand yourself and to remind you to push yourself.

You're most likely going to freeze up on women you find especially attractive. Make sure in your progressions that you learn to treat pretty women as humans as well. So in your progressions you will have compliment 5 women then later compliment 5 women you find attractive.

Don't only go out Saturday nights to approach women. That is just one night a week where you attempt to build on your skills and 6 to forget what you've already learnt. Also you will be completing against more men so you will get an unrealistic amount of rejection/resistance.

Cold approach is much harder than warm approach so why start with it? Why not just start by going to a class (dancing, cooking, aerobics) and meeting people there. Make some friends. Have a life beyond work/school. Your anxiety will go down and you might find you don't need cold approach.

Anyways if you are committed to this approach I would suggest you need consequences if you don't follow through. Make a bet with a friend...i'll pay you $100 if I don't approach 5 girls this week. Then even if you fail to keep your promise your process will be intact as long as you pay your friend the $100....you will find that in most cases you will end up following through.

I’m confused. Is your anxiety related to talking to women exclusively? Most of the time people asking me directions while I’m minding my own business on the street should be an interaction that lasts no more than 20 seconds. Any more and it’s a nuisance to me especially if I’m alone and a dude is trying to make conversation. Are you able to go to places or events where conversations can more organically? Thinking meetups and whatnot.

Edit: also complimenting never works. Women get complimented all the time and usually because the guy wants to sleep with us. It’s a huge turn off because it’s clear you’re trying to woo the woman than just treat her like a human being and have a conversation. Compliments can come in later when you know the person a bit better as you’ll be able to make more meaningful observations and statements. Saying I’m pretty is kinda like ok thanks I used makeup and genetically didn’t get screwed. Thanks?

Advice on getting rid of AA. Don’t think about what your going to do when your infield. More action. Less thinking. Thinking of what might happen causes anxiety. Just take action. Get into a flow. Its good. I cant say how bad your anxiety is but i would push those week 1, week2 goals into day 1 and day 2 goals and be improving like that daily with at the end, asking 1 girl for contacy details (number or social media). Week after its about improving on your sticking points like focusing on positioning, vocal projection and maybe showing masculine intent or whatever you're stuck at. Important thing tho is showing up so doing good

I would make sure the women you approach are 6s and under on a scale of 1-10. You’re not looking to date these girls, and USUALLY anything over a 7 is going to look at you as a creep since they’re used to guys approaching them often.

Approaching a 6 would probably make her day, and would lead to a more interesting conversation.

Very similar to the game plan I had for my students back when I used to coach. It works because of consistent progress.

If you feel like you can go faster than this, do it. The key is that it should feel challenging, but not so much that you freeze and give up.

Did not expect this for when I checked my phone so many comments and a lot of hate! I'm trying to improve myself. Asking for directions is the best way for me atm i need to slowly increase the stuff I do to get out of my comfort zone. The idea is after this I can walk up to a girl and say ~ hey I thought you was cute and had to come say hi. and then have a conversation etc.

Anyway any suggestions? Whens the best time to do this should I go out on the night and walk the busy streets of where i live and do it there since there is a lot of night life and a lot of girls will be dressed up all hot and sexy for the clubs? or do it during the day?

My new thing is giving girls insta instead of phone number. They’re much more likely to be receptive because they feel like they know you a bit more and can see when you post funny/cool shit. Have you considered that some women may be intimidated as well by a random guy asking for directions? I mean, say you are a nice looking girl. Now you get a lot of strangers asking you for directions. Some may be nice guys, but most are not, so you just kind of ignore anyone trying to approach you on the street because of things like this. Maybe someone is genuinely needing directions, but because of such behavior, you must ignore people to avoid encounters with creeps. Right track, wrong train. It’s positive that you are developing comfort with women, by engaging in dialogue. However, the content you are willing to use goes against the science of attraction. Refer to the mystery method by mystery. Compliments are a submission of status. Of course there’s and time and place for everything but instead try something simple in which you retain status. Like saying simple cocky comedy one liners with confidence. I.e your at a bar and bartender asks you for ID and you pause and say “I’m going to be honest with you, I usually charge for ID but today I guess I can make an exception.” Hold your status, no nervous ticks -confident eye contact. Do things like this rather than compliments.holding yourself accountable= very important-Good idea btw.

Check out the website good looking loser. He makes a schedule like this but way better. It helps if you live or work in a city so you always have new people to talk to. Compliment them on their shoes, hair, hoodie or jewellery. Try to look and think fast so that you don't say I like your shoes if are you trying to get the compliments out fast and her shoes are all muddy :p

Stopping them for directions is just a way to open them talking to you.. Once you get them talking why would you just end it there? You are not alone in your anxiety we all have it.

Don't worry about closing for now but also don't just go for asking for directions and end it there.

At least try to stay in set with her as long as you can (challenge yourself) , talk about anything about you being unfamiliar in this area, ask her what shes doing where she is from what she does etc... Yes this will lead to platonic interview conversations but this should be your week 1 not just asking for directions, and then during week 2 you can start going for compliments, push-pull, neg her tease her and work on emotional spikes.

Week 1: approach and stay in set as long as possible platonic conversations

Week 2: week 1 work + work on spiking emotions

Week 3: Number or SM close

And so on...

Everybody who is telling you this is a good idea has to be a dude and they're setting you up for a lot of rejection. No random stranger just trying to go about their business is waiting for you to try this on them. It is super disingenuous and women loathe this kind of behavior from men. You don't aspire to be a pickup artist, do you?

Don't try to get rid of your own anxiety by forcing it on girls. Singling girls out and trying to trap them in a conversation puts them in a really awkward spot since they feel immense pressure to not hurt your feelings, because they're conditioned to be (too) accommodating and they don't know if you're going to hurt them if you don't like their answers. They don't know who you are, they just know from experience that some guys are really aggressive when let down.

You're barely even talking about them like people here and they will notice because they are vigilant. They have to be. Your intentions are really clear and it's not smooth. The last line is downright predatory. Your decision to highlight Starbucks as an example of a conversation starter shows how you think as well. Girls are neither a homogeneous group, nor a means to an end. They are people and want to be treated as such.

Be honest. Ask for directions only when you need them. Don't force compliments or use them as leverage. If you're dealing with social anxiety, choose social situations that offer you something familiar to fall back on, like a hobby club, a community center, a museum, a tabletop rp group or whatever. Maybe even a library. Something you gravitate to. Seek out people with the same interests as you in environments you expect to find these people in. This allows you to make natural conversation and get to know people. These people also know people and so on. Most of all, show genuine interest in people and what they do.

The following scenario: "Oh, how can I find Starbucks? By the way you look nice so can you gimme u numbers ?" won't work at all because it is too stupid and straightforward and the only direction you can go in this way is either "sorry I have a boyfriend direction" or " I don't give my number to strangers direction" which is just a polite way to say "fuck off , boy".
