If you want more women in political or constitutional position, vote for more women politicians.

If you want more women as ceos, start your own company and hire a women ceo.

Quota system for women is just plain stupid. Women arent a minority group. Heck, in usa, there are more women than men. And both gender have equal civil rights. So why tf should there be a quota system? If women wanted more seat in the parliament, they can run in the election and vote for their fellow women peers

And as for more women ceos... Who someone hires for their private business is none of yours or anybody's concern. Unless the person isnt of age or doesnt meet other legal requirement, the government being able to say who you can and cant hire is an absolute blow to the free market.

But what’s your solution? You can’t just prohibit men from founding new businesses. This would be economic suicide. Women should just found more businesses if they want more female business owners. Just because men chose to become entrepreneur’s at higher rates than women doesn’t mean in any way, that women are oppressed. There are literally no dynamics which prohibit woman from founding.

This is like some scholar who never does their homework complaining that other scholars get better grades. You have to put in the effort to achieve something. Neither good grades nor the ownership over a business just fall from the sky.

Representation is voted for. Women's vote for representation counts the same as men and more women vote than men.

Representative democracy is elected, this is the representation.

The lack of faith in democratic representation is already abysmal but that would tank it completely.

How would it even work? Each party need to propose 2 candidates of each gender with exactly the same platforms, strengths, personalities etc., and when the party is elected the one gender needed for parity is selected? If there are "too many" men, you would just preselect women candidates? What if a left-wing man would have won by votes, but the only alternative is a nazi woman, you would push the nazi woman to government anyway? Because there are too many men already?

The only thing you can try, in my opinion, is to promote or advocate for more women to get into politics, or to convince more people (women included) to vote for women.

Giving people things they did not earn is a pretty quick way to completely destroy a society.

Your economy will become less productive, both because you’ll have less competent people in charge and because competent people will put in less effort if they think they won’t be rewarded fairly.

there are studies that show that men and women have same career and financial opportunities until late 20s to early 30s. I thing anyone can guess what happens during that time: babies.

And then women tend to take a more involved role in raising said children and that impacts long term career (both in term of leadership positions and financial aspects) prospects.

And this is mainly a "main child carer" penalty, not a woman penalty as the same thing was observed in homosexual couples where the main child carer saw the same penalty.

In short, the current economic system (and how you progress career and financial wise) punishes the person who actually takes care of children.

Objectively, power is attained and more importantly retained only by one type of person; the sufficiently capable. Look at any hierarchy, in any context, and atop will be the most capable of that group. Even democracies.

No better example exists than the current ’leader of the free world’. Often portrayed as a bumbling, misogynistic narcissist. In context to both leadership and government however? He has held what is arguably the most powerful office in the world. Twice.

That’s not to deride morality. Or ethics. Only to highlight the reality that power is not given. It is taken. If a woman wants that job? They’re more than welcome to aim for it. It is that simple.

People will vote for the women they like and corporations will appoint the people that they think will make them the most money. As long as there are no actual barriers to entry, I don’t think that we need to be making things “fairer”. Barriers are bad, but so is forcing people to choose things that they don’t want to choose.

Maybe if it wasn't so blatantly obvious with incompetent women were in leadership people would be more open to it. Women don't want to lay the groundwork to build a pipeline to leadership they want it NOW. So whereas a man may need a good education and 20 years of work experience proving himself with increasingly complex roles to make it to the top, a woman who goes to a mediocre school is shuffled up the ladder without much thought to get into a leadership role.

There are good female leaders but it's painfully obvious that most women who are leading are not because they don't deserve their role. If they were a man they'd be left far behind when nobody if helping them the entire way.

I would feel the same and absolutely be ok with it. How does it change anything for me? If women outnumbered men in politics and promoted policies against men I'd be upset, but this happens with men dominated goverments as we speak, so what is the difference? Every person in power is corruptable, no matter the gender.

What's stopping these briliant women to become CEOs or politicians?

If the reps are voted in fairly, I'd have no issues with more women being in those positions.

I think your idea just perpetuates this idea that men can't or won't do right by women and vice versa. We don't need any more of that. We don't need identity quotas to match these positions to demographics (and if we did, I'd point out that most of our leaders would be have to be white people as a result).

Go back and research your numbers. If your talking fortune 500 companies, it pasted 10 percent over 2 years ago. Also research business owners and you will see that number climb to between 40 to 50 percent if I remember the last article I read correctly.

For the congress seats, I would like to find the research that showed the number of actual candidates vs elected to see how many have actually attempted to secure a seat. is it a case of only 30 percent applying then you have 100 percent of them being accepted vs 100 thousand applying and only a small percentage being elected. Admittedly I have no idea what the statistic is.

As an example the abortion reversal. It wasn't a question of gender as much as the parties involved. The democrats voted to uphold while the republicans voted to over turn. It became an issue of liberals vs conservatives. In this case even if the entire justice bench were female, it would still fall to those two political parties strength of who is voted in.

Can you elaborate on high standard? Referring to what exactly? For example if your looking at standards to enter into any military service, standards are lowered significantly for women. This includes police, fireman any real physical based entry level position. If your looking at college entrance, Here again women outpace men significantly and have more options for financial support and have had that access for over a decade or more.

If you drill down on degrees from 2024 for example, you see degrees in veterinary sciences, psychology, medical degrees, education and teaching then languages as the top 5. Those don't easily transition to being on a congress seat.

Quite the opposite. Women's representation in government has been an unmitigated disaster every single time. It has just gotten a lot worse with quotas.

As for CEOs and business, I can only laugh. Women who attain top positions are far more likely to think like me and avoid hiring women altogether. And for the exact same reason: quotas are cancer and too many women in a profit-seeking organization is objectively a bad thing.

But clearly with this huge disparity, we are missing out on the talent and ideas and empathy that a lot of brilliant women have to offer. Which hurts all of us in the end and probably especially women.

This is simply not true. As evidenced by Norway's golden skirts experiment. Or the EU's lame attempts to force this on big corporations.

Every time this is tried economic recession isn't far away. No, we're not "missing out" on any talent and ideas. Brilliant women already do rise to those positions. It's just that there are far fewer briliant women than men. Just like there are far fewer utterly idiotic women than men.

This just seems like a conservative vs liberal debate. Given how common it is for women to pursue higher education and or avoid having kids, the percentage of women in those positions of power will increase over time without any additional action. It seems like your main issue is actually just wanting more liberals or democrats in power.
