Might help if you define “casual sex.” Are you talking about any sexual activity outside of a relationship? Do you consider an FWB casual sex?

My motivation is that I like sex, very simple. But after some time, I became less open to it / more picky, for a few reasons, the main ones being: - safety issues: on multiple occasions, my boundaries were pushed - the sex just wasn’t as good as relationship sex (though there were exceptions). Men care way less about partner’s pleasure in casual sex compared to within relationships.

I wouldn’t say I regret it, but generally I don’t feel regret very often. Sometimes I really enjoyed myself and had great experiences, other times, I didn’t. But yeah eventually I found out the risk is higher than the reward on average.

When I was much younger, I used to run out and cheat when someone cheated on me. It was an absolutely ridiculous game that never made me happy. I didn’t even WANT the sex, I just wanted the cheater to see that I wasn’t a punk. I never hid the fact I did it. I did it because I WANTED them to know that ‘I got them back’. I never got any sexual pleasure when I did this, and I didn’t even care, or expect to. It wasn’t the point. What stopped me? I just grew up, and now if anyone cheated, I would just leave.

I started something mutually casual just once. At that point I really didn’t want to spend emotional energy but still wanted to flirt and sex after a year of being celibate by choice. I picked someone much younger at a different life phase. Incredibly good looking and fun to talk to. The sex wasn’t that good but that guy was generous with compliments and did some things that validated my desirability at my old age. So I didn’t regret it.

Was vibing out dancing at a party with the same dude for like 90 min straight. That’s a lot of touching and grinding and flirting. Basically a lot of massive foreplay on the dance floor and at the party that I guess eventually got me pretty horny. Hooked up with him in one of the private bathrooms.

On one hand it was a pleasurable experience from the dancing to the making out on the dance floor to the eventual “sex.”

i dont understand the idea of "quitting". i "quit" having "casual sex" (or as i called it "dating") when one of them turned into a BF, then i started "dating again" when i was single til i got another BF. i dont understand this weird binary where you "decide" to have "casual sex" until you "stop having casual sex". i never heard of this in the world. casual sex is what you do when youre single, then you get a bf or get married or whatever, thats how you "stop", just like thats how you "stop" any other form of dating, you know, when youre taken

Not worth it to me, honestly. It never was worth it. However, the desire to enjoy myself and seek pleasure is why I continued down the deep, dark rabbit hole that was casual sex for me back in the day.

I'm poly and lines kind of blurred for me. I started actually with swing and sex clubs with my partner because i was a bit afraid, it was unknown and with him i felt safe. Then i started go for casual sex on my own.

I think my personality made me open for it, i always felt like usual relationship was too rigid for me, too defined. Then i also just like sex, and i like to explore, and while men suck at relationship, and of course relationship with me also makes a pool of men smaller, it is fairly possible to find a man who don't suck at sex. And no man fucks like another man, i love those different feelings.

I do quit from time to time simply because my ability to tolerate men are not endless and i need to recharge in my peace, but then i usually start again. I regret some sex, i don't regret most.

I’ve had some fwb situations, and also casual sex in the form of hookups. It was always when I was single, and I did it because it was fun. Can’t think of any negative side effects that came from it. Never had any pregnancy scares or STDs from taking bc and getting tested every once in a while (Before entering a relationship)

I never “quit” per-say, I just wouldn’t cheat on my partner. If I’m single, meet someone I’m attracted to, we have mutual interest, and I’m horny, casual sex would probably ensue. It was usually mediocre, sometimes good, but always enjoyable. I never felt any regret, but I wouldn’t have sex with anyone I didn’t want to have sex with.

I’m not sure I’ve heard a good argument for causal sex being “illogical”. This idea is mostly a result of purity culture and the demonization of women’s sexuality. I do think there are ways of being illogical when having casual sex, however. It’s illogical to not use protection, illogical to sleep with people you don’t trust, being very intoxicated before choosing partners, and of course, cheating. But I wouldn’t count that as casual sex

I never consciously "decided to have casual sex," specifically. I had sex because I wanted to and I liked fucking and seeing what different men were about. The idea of reserving sex exclusively for a committed relationship was never something that crossed my mind even once after I lost my virginity to my first boyfriend. I'm not oriented that way.

I don't know what I would "regret" about it, and I'm also not sure how it was supposed to "make me feel." It fulfilled my curiosity and it was exciting and fun for the novelty. Now there's no novelty anymore so I don't care about that aspect and only care about FWBs. If I hadn't experienced it I probably would have a significant amount of regret for not fulfilling my curiosity. I mean I suppose I'm still curious about some of my attractive friends I haven't had sexual experiences with, but they're taken now so there's nothing really to pursue further with that.
