Yes, every single relationship I've had has been like that.

I slept with my husband the first day that I met him, and he asked me to be his girlfriend two days later. We've been together ever since (6 years and counting).

I've never considered, or had, a relationship with someone I'd only known for a few days. I did only know my first boyfriend for about a month in my teens before we started going out. That relationship was decidedly not based on strong physical attraction on my part.

Physical attraction is not enough for me to consider a relationship. The initial feeling tends to be curiosity, and a sort of pull to get closer to them and find out more about them, sometimes a desire to kiss them, rather than Hey let's date, for me. If they asked for a relationship when we barely knew each other I would be turned off pretty quickly.

To clarify, I've felt strong physical attraction pretty early on. I just wouldn't enter a relationship based on that.

Like you meet a guy and after a week you are already dating him; since a week is not exactly enough to get to know a person really well, to me it means there's a strong physical attraction that's enough for you to form a bond with that person.

Yep, if/when I do that physical attraction will probably be the main factor.

Not just physical attraction, but my first boyfriend and I basically declared our undying love within 3 days of meeting and went on to date for 3 years despite living on opposite sides of the Atlantic ocean. It was lovely, and painful, and I will always have fond memories of that time in my life. But I don't know if such a thing would even be possible outside of the specific circumstances under which we met, or without the all encompassing soup of teenage hormones.

I didn't enter the relationships right away because I didn't think they'd have said yes to me asking them out that fast, but I knew within the first day of seeing them in person that I was gonna date them (and I've been right everytime). Two in highschool, one in a brief stint of university. I know it was the same for one of them but I don't know about the other two.

I guess this is what happened with my college boyfriend. We had a class together and I always noticed him and thought he was cute but we never spoke. Then after the semester was over we officially met at a party. He got my number and the next night he asked me to hang out, and pretty much from that night on we were inseparable for two years.

But it wasn't just pure physical attraction. I mean we basically spent an entire week together right after we met. You can get to know someone in that amount of time well enough to know whether or not you like them. It's not like we made a lifelong commitment after one week or anything.

I'm bi, and no, that has happened with men or women. The physical attraction is not enough. I would say it was the hours of conversation, compatibility, shared interests, being comfortable with each other, etc. Physical attraction is a part of it, but definitely not all.

"Relationship" covers too much ground here and I get the feeling that if I say yes it will be taken to mean I have agreed that certain things happened in my life that really really did not.

I mean duh, who hasn't in high school been sort of convinced via fantasies that maybe the guy they sit behind in History class is the guy they will spend forever with, stopped looking at other guys at all, started a pursuit of sorts putting out indicators of interest, and yet had the common sense to know that feeling is to some extent bullshit and it must pass before any intimacy or declaration of feelings or commitments happens? Was there a relationship there? Sure, on one side a crush relationship involving some flirting and sizing each other up and on the other side whatever he was feeling. It was a committed relationship in a way in that for as long as that feeling continued there would be no going after other guys but it wasn't a committed relationship in terms of having given any assurances to the guy that the exclusivity would continue or intimacy result.

Human relationships are pretty complex and if what you are asking is does it happen that a woman can see a guy and then kebang he has her, she is all his for sure completely for as long as he wants her and as fully as he wants her based only on physical attraction... no, generally not, that is just not something that happens. Even in the most decidedly passionate adolescent crushes that is not what is happening. I'm not saying it has never happened but if it does happen it is something like oh idk, when you toss a coin in the air and it lands perfectly balanced on its edge... so rare as to be something that doesn't happen

Also, dating is not in itself a bond especially in the early days. Sorry dude but having shared a badly cooked steak and some limp lettuce at Schnitzels Plus then agreed to go out to the movies Tuesday week is not a bond no matter how handsome you are.

The way you describe a relationship here is like a binding contract offer. It doesn't usually work that way.

I would imagine that a lot of users here slept with or dated a really attractive rando that ended up being their SO long term. A ton probably slep with really attractive dudes that didn't end up becoming an LTR. I don't think there is always a clear defining moment where you decide to pursue an LTR or "accept an offer" as you put it.

If I met some really attractive guy and started hanging around them for a week, or possibly had sex with them, does that mean there is a binding relationship? Not necessarily. It might happen over time or fizzle out.
