edit: do i really have to fucking stipulate im only talkimg about US law

ok i dont know how to make it so that people ONLY answer the DIRECT questions im asking.

lets stipulate that for all time and in all places sexual scandal has affected public figures whos livelihood and position depend on their public image and the public image of what they represent (politicians, celebrities etc). i am SPECIFICALLY AND SOLELY ASKING ABOUT REGULAR EVERYDAY MEN:

explain this to me after college and outside of the workplace:

  1. EXACTLY how do NON CRIMINALLY CHARGED allegations of "sexual assault" (edit: or sexual harrassment in a non workplace scenario) work?

  2. where are they publicized, who cares, and what are the ramifications

please directly and only answer my numbered Qs.

do people believe there is a global HR department to whom reports of "sexual harrassment on a date" can be made?

i was SPECIFICALLY inspired to ask this by THIS section of a previous post:

However, I wonder if the nature of some of these allegations are teaching young men that it isn't appropriate to be sexually assertive around women. For example, one of Al Franken's accusers asserts that he tried to kiss her. I worry that young men may read this and feel uneasy trying to kiss a woman, because the young man would be worried about being accused of sexual harassment.

I was discussing this with a friend recently, and he told me that if you're on a date with someone, and one person makes an unwanted advance, that is at the very least sexual harassment, or possibly even sexual assault.

i want to know EXACTLY how anyone here sees this playing out and what it EXACTLY means to be "sexual harrassment" on a date. do all of you know theres no such thing as sexual harrassment law OUTSIDE OF THE WORKPLACE in the US?

also, bonus Q, do you all understand that there is no jurisdiction int he US in which sexual ASSAULT AND BATTERY are not specific intent crimes that involve FORCE or RESTRAINT? you cannot ACCIDENTALLY assault or batter someone CRIMINALLY, this is not a big COLLEGE CAMPUS

please do not bring up celebrities. this is NOT WHAT IM ASKING. i am askign about the REPEATED ASSERTIONS BEING MADE BY MEN HERE that REGULAR MEN, outside of COLLEGE AND WORK are being affected by this

edit: are none of you aware that the politicians being "outed" as harrassers were harrassing STAFFERS and people they were working with in various capacities? now, i do not believe in sexual harrassment law AT all and think it should be abolished, but it DOES exist right now. do you all believe al franken was "sexually harrassing" strangers at a bar?
