I'd guess a large number of TRP are what clinicians would call aspergers. I think atlas has the right of it - a lot of what clinicians call "aspergers" are systematizers, high IQ men, and socially awkward men who never picked up on the same things as most other kids did, early on, because their brains process information differently from "neurotypicals". Because they didnt' pick it up, they are prone to social and relational failure. And because they are systematizers, breaking human relationships down into component parts for analysis helps them make sense of a process and a thing that is otherwise totally alien to them. It is explained to them in a way they can understand.

That's why youre seeing what youre seeing.

I have always had a massive social anxiety/self-hate problem, but if anything that is what has made me think I'm not on the spectrum. I pick up cues very well and get extremely intimidated by them. I struggle with eye contact specifically because I notice it so well. It was the "disgust" faces I picked up from girls when I was hitting puberty that really put fuel on the self-hate fire. Doesn't help that I am 6'5" so many people are intimidated by me by default.

I answered as honestly as I could and I got a 22 on that test.

ROFL I scored a 31. I read somewhere that INTJ types often score high on the spectrum, and that personality type is over-represented on the spectrum, so maybe correlation.

According to the page though, I'm 86% likely to be diagnosed, however I believe Asperger is no longer a "thing", right?

I am not on the spectrum, however I took that last night and got a 39. I've taken a few variations of the test and typically end up in that "you're probably autistic" zone. I am definitely not though, I think it's just the INTJ thing. :)

Massive introversion
Love of routine
Systemizing everything
Fixation on one task at a time
Aural hypersensitivity

I’m not socially retarded, though. I’ve made an effort all my life to fit in with the normies and I think it’s paid off. I prefer not socializing, but I can enjoy parties too (until I run out of social juice). I can see why TRP exists, but I can also see why TBP thinks its a vile cesspool of misogyny and hate.

I was diagnosed with autism and put into special ed. But, I'm blue pill AF. TRP has ablist undertones which militate against my interests as a disabled person.

I'm an INTJ but I do very well in social situations and have worked hard to develop my intuition and ability to read people. Brought me out of my shell and helped my career immensely, as well as my personal life.

I've been in and out of doctor's offices all my childhood with my mom trying to get me diagnosed with aspergers.

I just don't have it technically, even if I appear to on a superficial level. As one of my pschologists said to my mom, "he doesn't have anything wrong with him mentally, he's just weird."

I assumed my score would be higher, towards the aspie range. I'm a high IQ INTP-INTJ who is socially awkward and cannot stand chit-chat, and I often prefer things to people, and I get so involved in projects that real life fades away.

14. ENTJ. I used to be INTJ until realizing that it was probably more beneficial to be social. No problems switching over and becoming good at it. I don't see the difficulty of talking to people at all. Social situations are systems like any other.

Purple Pill here but my score was 34. According to the test I'm absolutely someone with Asperger's Syndrome. I have a true/genuinely-needs-assisted-living Autistic in my family as well. That said I have to agree with /u/Atlas_B_Shruggin that I think a lot of "Asperger's Syndrome" really amounts to trying to make high-IQ introversion, or having an xNTx temperament into a disease (and I'm a high-IQ INTx who's an only child also, and all of my close friends are INTJs).

I agree with you OP, that TRP seems to attract a lot of autists... Or people who like abstract, categorical information and principles they can deductively apply.

I may be purple pill but I think my results may help substantiate your theory.

18, INTP. I've definitely always been an "odd bird," but not ASD, and I've put a LOT of work into my social skills since I was younger. Still, I've always had trouble with being perceived as strange, and with not intuitively "getting" how to behave around people. Luckily, I'm cute, so I can get away with a lot of strangeness before people get put off haha. I think I was attracted to the pillosphere less because it breaks down human interaction in an understandable way and more because, in true INTP fashion, I feel compelled to "truth seek" and find the most correctest answer to any question, including the many questions posed by human relationships. TRP gives an interesting, if incomplete, perspective on such things.
