I would be highly concerned and rethink all of my major parenting decisions.

I actually think a lot of this pill stuff is the result of poor and/or unrealistic advice given to adolescents. Which is understandable from a parental sheltering standpoint, but I think ultimately backfires for many, and leads to a lot of unnecessary belated distress in peoples' 20s.

The Red Pill is one major coping strategy for men who for whatever reasons never realized looks matter to women as much as it matters to men and that being charming takes certain amount of intelligence and social ability which not every man gets to have due to genetics and socio-economic factors.

So, yea, if you are feeding your short, ugly twinkish son lies about "be yourself" and all that, don't be surprised when he turns to the red pill manosphere.

It is a tricky thing to deal with. You cannot castigate and hurt your son's self esteem, but you can't also bullshit him. Your best bet is to recognize his weakness as he is growing and do everything as parents to mollify these weaknesses.

to answer your question, no I wouldn't dissuade, assuming he is reading it as late teen/early adult. It's too late for me to "mold" him. Time to let him be an adult and do his thing.

Been reading through all these comments and gotta say I'm rather pleased at the female responses here (the hamstering is funny in some cases) because they more or less confirm TRP: Being beta (mainstream BP thinking) means being a weak bitch overall it's unattractive, some women are even saying they'd want the father to have a mantalk with the son (because these women instinctively feel uncomfortable talking about themselves since they can't relate and feel conflicted about it, they want their sons to be successful yet don't know how to tell them to stop being a bitch boy). And yet these same people who admit that having such a son would be an embarrassment also say that TRP is vile garbage..this is why I don't understand why BP has so much grievance towards TRP...boys aren't being raised correctly yet no one wants to address it much less do anything about it, and so consequently you'll have all these young men searching for answers and enter TRP. To me this means that TRP (as politically incorrect as it may be) is a much needed thing in society since there are many young men out there who are in need of it it

My son and I send each other excerpts of the crazier stuff every now and then, so we can laugh it up. He's the epitome of Chad in the looks department, treats women like people (I.e. not fuckholes or princesses), isn't obsessed with his wang and what to put it in. RPs would hate him.

He went through a phase of 'bitches be trippin, why don't nice girls like me, wahh wahh" when he got dumped at 14, but got over it quickly, like any normal kid. My theory is that TRPs get stuck at this stage of development and can't grow out of it.

I'd discuss it with him, asking him what went in to the decision to have those ideas, many of which I agree with. There does seem to be a misogynist undertone to the occasional post, but embracing and building up your own masculine energy can and will keep the best women attracted to you over the long term, more so than money or looks. I'd explain the difference and show him the way to build himself up along with adoring the woman he is with, just like his father.

If I had a son I wouldn't say shit that would encourage him to stop reading it although I wouldn't hide the fact that i disagree either because I don't think its my job to dissuade a teenage male from anything. I would wonder what happened to attract him to redpill. Most guys see to come to redpill after experiencing some kind of bad encounter with women or being pissed that women don't want them. If he brought up some rp ideas I disagreed with i'd probably debate him or ask him if he's considered alternative viewpoints. If he felt like he had his heart broken or a girl mistreated him i'd want him to feel safe talking about it if offline with me or if i was married his father or a neutral adult. TBH I definitely wouldn't want him getting all his information about the opposite sex and relationships from redpill but I wouldn't mind if he ultimately decided thats what he identified with. I just wouldn't agree with him. If he was well adjusted in every other way and didn't do anything fucked up to anyone he can believe in RP all he wants

I might feel pretty hurt also in a way though. Like I would question how he saw me or if I did anything to cause him to turn to RP. I read some of the stories on RP or RP blogs about mothers and girlfriends and crushes and although I again really disagree with where they turn it sounds like very painful experiences

Same as if I caught him reading Stormfront/Coontown/UKIP/One Nation/ PUA hate/RSD, etc... Sure, there would be some talking about how wrongheaded and hate filled these places were; but he would also be straight down to our local soup kitchen or homeless shelter as a volunteer to give him a bit of perspective.

I would feel like a failure as a parent. I want so much better for my son. I would confront him and try to help him past what is hopefully just a phase of poor judgement. If he is adamant in his membership in the community, he would no longer be welcomed in my home knowing that he views myself, his sister, and his grandmothers in such a hateful and dehumanizing way.

I'd be disappointed if hypothetical-he was reading it to put it into practice rather than just browsing it. I probably wouldn't bring it up if I stumbled across it, because he should be able to expect privacy in his online life. I would probably attempt to reinforce the lessons I'd have tried to teach him, and feel like I'd failed slightly.

I would rather teach him myself. I'm actually pretty good with this stuff. No son of mine will be a "nerd." Smart, yes. A social pariah, no. We can mitigate that.

And more importantly I don't need an impressionable adolescent youth walking around calling women "bitches" and "cunts" in his head. Doesn't bode well for his socialization.

Yes it would bother me. I'd wonder where I went wrong raising a self conscious beta (despite all the sports and masculine activities he'd take part in since toddlerhood). I wouldn't confront him, but I'd discuss gender dynamics with him and urge his father to have a man to man talk with him.

We would have an honest and ongoing conversation about it. I would ask him what about it appeals to him. I would ask him what was lacking in his life that he feels he gains through this philosophy. I would encourage him to think not only about what he is gaining, but how it affects others. If he was living in my house, 18+, and it got to the point where he was disrespecting me, I would kick him out.
