You are abusive and want power over her because she escaped you, and you have an abusive mentality and can't stand that your plan to control her failed. You're too selfish to accept that you are not parent material and simply arrange an adoption to a qualified parent or parents who can do the job they sign up for, unlike you.

I hate that phrase! A friend wanted to set me up with someone. I may be rare, but when I had my son it took about six weeks after the birth for me to bond with him in the way we’ve always been led to believe happens.

Reminds me of a video about a single blind father taking care of his blind infant - the mother left soon after birth because she could not accept the situation (maybe postpartum depression). And all he ever said about the mother when asked is that he wishes her happiness. The son, despite being blind grows up to be an excellent student and a responsible son.

yeah this is really old....which just points out how vanishingly rare this scenario is, where it's the mother who wants nothing to do with the child and leaves the father to raise it. There are no other examples of this!
I've dealt with child support issues before and I believe no, she won't be able to get back the extra CS she's paid. The courts will look on it as a "gift" to the OP, hahahahaha.

Haha maybe. I actually had a work friend that kinda did this when she was young. Took off and left the kid with the dad for a year or so when it was a baby. I guess just couldn’t handle it. But then came back and has had 50/50 custody ever since. Never went to court or anything and they are both really great parents. Kinda bizarre
On the bright side, having to care for a child full time when he’s not at work will keep him from going out and making any more unwanted children with some unsuspecting women.
