CMV:

FDS believes marrying a man isn't worth it. They cite studies that show married men are happier than married women to show that men get more out of marriage. They think husbands just want a bang maid and the women to take care of him.

TRP believes that marrying a woman isn't worth it. They cite studies which show alimony, custody of children, and associated support overwhelmingly going to women. They think wives just want a meal ticket and to take their money.

This dichotomy, hilariously enough, proves the utility of marriage (assuming premarital counseling for expectations as well as a prenup to advocate for both parties and provide insurance) as a positive thing. Both parties are risking a lot but both have a lot to gain emotionally and familially as well as status in their community.
