I agree with your last paragraph for both genders, though. If someone's in a FWB arrangement or a situationship, there's a little more friction to go out and find something more meaningful (if that's what they want). People like the comfort of the known. It might be a little woo woo for the members of this sub, but I do think people inadvertently close themselves off to opportunities when they're focused on their FWB or situationship instead of being open to something new.

Here's a secret. Women like sex too. Not everything is women trading sex for commitment or whatever.

Now I've never been in a FWB thing but I knew a few who did. They were generally women with a high libido, who hated having to go through the hassle of finding a guy everytime they wanted sex. Plus, who knows if your flavour of the week is any good in bed?

Some of them weren't into commitment at all. Some of them just had other priorities than putting energy into a relationship. Some of them were rebounding after a relationship ended and just didn't want another one yey.

So they get someone tried and true to satisfy their libido. A FWB who ideally would satisfy them and who they can maintain a general friendly vibe with. A booty call.

Essentially women get FWB for the same reason men do. Easy sex.

Porn is... Not even close to that.
